GOOD! D'Arby style, as Sirius says. Before I got a MAL, I just memorised what chapter/page I was on. Yeah, it's been kind of slow/weird for me too. Like, Raven added me the other day and sometimes it would show the pending request, but when I tried to approve it, it would tell me that there is no such request. Then it would show up again, etc.

I just check MAL for my progress.
