  1. I believe he was captured by Daein soldiers because he was caught tending to wounded Crimeans.

I don't remember the exact conversation, but I do think Tibarn told Reyson he can't/shouldn't harm people because he's a heron, like it was a moral code or something. Maybe Sephiran's lack of resistance has something to do with that?

I haven't played too many games yet (only Sacred Stones, Birthright and Revelation), but I like delving into the other titles as well and am planning to play the remaining ones. Particularly the Jugdral games have piqued my interest, but I need to know if emulating those is feasible without overloading your PC.

Popular opinion is the Jugdral games (particularly FE4) have the strongest story in the series. I have yet to complete it, so I can't really give you my opinion on it. And since it's an SNES game, you shouldn't have computer issues as long as it's not a computer from the 1980s or something like that lol. You will need to research a lot of how the game plays, since I don't think anything is explained in-game. A lot of the mechanics are much different than they are in later games.

From Sacred Stones and Fates though, I'd recommend playing Awakening. The gameplay is very similar to BR especially. Although FE7 is a good game to play to ease yourself into the more "traditional" style of FE. It's a nice blend between what you're used to from SS and what you can expect from other games in the series. The Tellius series would also be great for getting into the more "traditional" style of the series (and are just fantastic games overall) since they are more similar to the pre-GBA games, although FE10 especially is a bit more difficult than what you're probably used to from SS and Fates, but if you're forced to emulate them, you will need to check and make sure you have a powerful enough computer.

Anyway, as I've said, I've long been a Pokémon dork, ever since 2005.

Same, though even earlier for me. Tell me, how hyped are you for Sun/Moon? And what starter have you been looking to start with? I've been Team Rowlet from the start.

Oh, have I mentioned yet that I like writing? I've written some characters of my own and intend to give them support conversations as well. So far, these are all in the Fates universe, and one of my works is a rewrite of a character that was supposedly going to have a more major role, but was relegated to being a Paralogue boss (now you probably know who it is, heheh). I've even gone as far as giving him a child because scrapped material always interests me and it's nice to bring out potential. (If anyone knows the right subforum to post these kinds of things in, please tell me about it, since I'm interested in receiving some feedback.)

Visit the Creative section. That place is mainly for fan-fiction, rolepays, etc....

If you want to start with an easy game, I'd recommend not playing one that requires a translation. The JP games can be confusing for first timers with the exception of FE6 (Binding Blade). I'd recommend FE8 (Sacred Stones). It's more similar to Awakening and Birthright than any other FE game, featuring a world map like these games. If you prefer Conquest's map design and lack of grinding though, either FE7 (Blazing Sword) or the Tellius series (FE9 and FE10, Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn) would be good to play.

FE8 is definitely the easiest of the western games. FE7 and FE9 aren't too difficult either and shouldn't give you too much trouble. FE10 can be rather difficult on Normal and downright brutal on Hard (not as bad as Awakening and Conquest Lunatic, though), but if you play FE9 first (which you should since FE10 is a direct sequel), it shouldn't be that bad.

Also, the translations are not the games themselves. They are a tool to modify the JP version of the game to make it English. You will have to find the games yourself elsewhere. I can't help you unfortunately because discussion of ROMs and such isn't allowed here.

  4. I'd be shocked if the Switch didn't get Smash. It's always been one of Nintendo's best-selling games on their respective consoles.

But I think I'd prefer a new game over a Smash 4 port. I'd buy the game either way, especially if new characters were added to the port, but I personally haven't been playing Smash 4 as much as I used to. Plus, another Smash game within a year of release would boost sales quite a bit. Although the best thing to do from a business perspective would be to remake Melee for the launch window.

I think a port is the most likely. feels too soon after 4 for a whole new game.

Another thing worth thinking about is the possibility of a Melee port if Gamecube VC becomes a thing.

The gap between 64 and Melee was 2 years, so a new title is not out of the question.

    But please... Sakurai... Melee HD.

  6. My good comrade, I welcome you to this lush Forest! To most I am Seth, to others Yed. Choose your preference, choose it wisely.

I played Sacred Stones on the 3DS thanks to the Ambassador Program that I wish I still had, and my initial thoughts were...meh. TRPGs weren't my thing back then. Recently (a few months ago), I revisited Sacred Stones because one of my friends started playing it...and I was hooked.

Pretty much what happened with me, though I went back to it after a few months rather than a few years. Now it's my favorite series. I didn't even realize it was the series Marth, Roy, and Ike were from until later lol.

I also like Pokemon, Megaman, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and many more games outside of FE.

What teams you on? Like, which game and starters?

Those games are pretty anime-esque. You into anime as well?

About time I finished writing this, and if you read through all of this, I'm sorry. (Btw, the end of that monstrosity of writing totally wasn't rushed...) :Ewan:

Lol don't worry, pretty sure mine was even longer.

  7. FE10: Dawn Brigade only. Only exception are chapters where you don't have any DB units and Ike (for the final boss). Yes, this means everyone is either benched or unequiped (aka meatshields) once Ilyana joins Ike (Haar and Lethe/Mordecai can be used to recruit Jill and Zihark in chapter 3-7). Don't try this on Hard Mode.

Want an even harder challenge? Only bring the Crimean Royal Knights into the endgame. Ex-Crimean Royal Knights count. BEXP is banned on Easy/Normal.

No Lords for You: Your Lords Must Remain at Base Level or Level 1 Promoted (If Forced Promotion) [This would be quite hard in FE4, FE7, FE8, FE9, FE10 [Micaiah, Elincia and Ike are banned], FE13 and FE14]

Is this possible in FE9/FE10? Ike is necessary for 3 fights. If he can't do damage to any of them, then the game is literally unbeatable. Same goes for FE13 if you count the Avatar as a lord.

  8. My good comrade, I welcome you to this lush Forest! To most I am Seth, to others Yed. Choose your preference, choose it wisely.

My favorite game is Sacred Stones due to how I love its gameplay and the units that are playable to some degree.

Yaaaaassss SS love. Though Radiant Dawn is my favorite, it was a very tough choice between the two.

I also listen to music, and occasionally sing along to it.

    What kind do you like?

Despite this "long" intro post I am shy in real life but I also have a weird habit of smiling 95% of the time.

It's not weird to always be positive :)

And you should see my intro post. Maybe 5x as long as yours lol.

  9. My good comrade, I welcome you to this lush Forest! To most I am Seth, to others Yed. Choose your preference, choose it wisely.

My name is Darwin, and my favorite game is Radiant Dawn.

Ah... Radiant Dawn... I played this game alongside a friend, and it was some of the most fun I've ever had, period. Have you played any other games in the series, though? They're all really good.

My average play time on the save file is something like 14-16 hours per run.

Is that on hard mode? Even if it's not, that's quite impressive. I'm assuming you skip dialogue for this time, you'd have to be godlike for that.

I am building a website (from scratch) for a course at college. I'm using the page for Google Analytics research and SEO practice. Thus, I need viewership! I've written a blurb about some of my favorite Radiant Dawn characters, mainly focusing on their growth rates, usability, and whether I like them or not. I'd love to hear your thoughts, either on my stats (are any of them wrong?), my opinions (tell me how yours differ!! I'd love to hear), or my web design (it's looking kinda... old....).

I'll take a look for you. I love Radiant Dawn as well, I'd love to see how other fans view the game. If I have anything to comment on, I'll let you know on here.

I don't want to impose so I'm only posting this in the introduction section. Please tell me if this is the wrong place for it.

This isn't the wrong place for it, but you might not get many results. You might be able to post it in the Creative Forums section. I'm not familiar with what usually goes on there, so look around and see for yourself if it's an appropriate place or not.

  10. My good comrade, I welcome you to this lush Forest! To most I am Seth, to others Yed. Choose your preference, choose it wisely.

Have you played any other Fire Emblem games? Awakening is just one of many fantastic games.

I'm also a fan of other series like Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons, Rune Factory, Ace Attorney, Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, a bunch of other stuff.

You got some good taste in games there. Especially Legend of Zelda and Ace Attorney. You got any favorites from these series? I finally beat Rise from the Ashes last night (PW:AA), the only trial I haven't beaten of the original trilogy, and I was reminded of how good the series is.

  11. FE7: Eliwood and Hector are really good units IMO and would always be on my team. Lyn, I'd probably use her depending on her Strength.

FE8: Ephraim, yes. One of the most fun units in the game IMO, up their with Lute, Tana, and Gerik. Eirika, again, depends on her Strength. I don't have much luck with sword users in the GBA games. I mean, I like both of them, they're both beautiful as well, but you can't use a unit if they don't do damage.

FE9: Ike was godlike in my playthrough. One of the best Lords stat-wise, IMO.

FE10: Micaiah is one of the hottest girls in the series. I could never bench her. I really don't like Ike in this game. His speed is too low, and his character was so much better in PoR.

FE13: Chrom is a horrible unit, worst Lord of all FE games I've played. Benched. Are we counting Robin and Lucina? I'd use both of them. Both are rather hot, and rather OP.

FE14: As much as I hate Corrin as a character, she is so very useful with her Dragonstone, especially in Conquest. I'd use her. Take that away and she's spending some quality time with RD Ike.

  12. Sacred Stones was my first. Let's see..........

    • I thought all pre-promotes were OP, best units in the game, nothing could compare because they were already promoted (including Rennac)
    • I thought anyone who wasn't promoted were horrible and were immediately benched (except Ephraim and Gerik, because even the biggest of n00bs could see they were amazing)
    • My name is Seth, and I played the game through the 3DS Ambassador Program, so I thought the game used the name registered in my 3DS for Seth the Paladin
    • Because of what is mentioned above, I thought Seth was the protagonist until halfway through the game
    • I didn't understand how stats worked
    • I promoted as early as possible because I thought it wasn't beneficial to wait
    • I didn't understand permadeath until halfway through the game
    • I lost Franz early on and forgot he was a character until my second playthrough. I was so confused as to who he was
    • I horded literally everything
    • I don't even remember if I used a healer or not
    • I thought Knoll was good

    And that's all I remember.

even though I've never actually beaten Earthbound

Duuude Earthbound is gooood. Ya gotta get on that game.

Mainly Project M, since that's the game that Lucas is actually good in.

3.02 Lucas was so fun to play, right up there with Pit and Mewtwo. Look up Neon vs. M2K if you wanna see one of the greatest sets in PM history.

One Punch Man is the shining light of good anime in a sea of modern mediocrity

I don't know man, the past few seasons have had some really good anime. We've had quite a lack of mediocre series' recently (but that's all gonna change when the Fall season comes around).

    Selena is best girl.

Adorable Tsundere or Gorgeous Gemstone General?

  14. My good comrade, I welcome you to this lush Forest! To most I am Seth, to others Yed. Choose your preference, choose it wisely.

If you like Conquest, I'd recommend playing the Tellius series (FE9 and FE10, Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn respectively). Probably the closest in terms of gameplay, and they have arguably the best story and character development in the western releases of the series. They can be tough to find if you don't have a powerful computer though.

If you like Birthright and Revelations, then try Awakening or Sacred Stones. Birthright has almost the same gameplay as Awakening, and Sacred Stones is fairly similar to both of them in terms of gameplay as well.
