  1. I inherited more skills than I need and wasted feathers in this too. It's just because I am not good at making the right decision. I once inherited Escape Route 3 and then replaced it by Vantage. Also I promoted my free-to-get Lissas to 4* for their skills, but now I am considering to replace them by something else. I also inherited Life and Death for a -speed Robin only to find it useless (at least worse than triangle adept). I made a lot of wrong decisions and I am in short of SP.

So now I have decided not to learn any skill when grinding a character up, saving the SP until I find out what is the right thing to do.

I'm not sure there are really any particular characters people tend to avoid in general aside from dancers (if you put Azura/Olivia/Ninian as your rep I'm skipping you). Other than that it depends on what each particular person's team struggles against. My team doesn't do great against Tharja, for example, so I might likely to skip her if I see her, but Nowi is easy prey for my Julia. On the other hand, you may have a Linde that destroys Tharjas or your team struggles against Nowi, so your picks will be based on that.

tldr - There's no real "best team leader for defending" and you're just getting unlucky with Robin :/

You're right I'm just getting unlucky with Robin!

I swapped Sharena to be my team leader, and within just one or two hours I defended successfully, with 271 points. (Also I wonder if it's possible to get points less than 250?)

Partially, though I think I have a reputation of the chief Sanaki hater here.  I do wish we'd get some more Tellius characters, but I think I've already mentioned that about 37 times.

I'm pretty mellow, I never take any game-related stuff personally, so no worries.

Actually I need a Sanaki hater to help me hate Sanaki so I can feed my Sanaki to someone else without feeling guilty.

I am already feeling less guilty now. At least there's someone hating her.

  4. Tried to use 5* Effie to beat Lunatic but failed. (I was fooled by the pulling banner!)

Then I cleared it using a 5* team with Lucina x 2, Sharena and Bunny Camilla.

Fly Camilla to the rightmost column to lure the thief on the right. She will be safe in the woods for a few rounds as long as she does not initiate any attack, and only can be attacked by one thief.

Navarre would move to Camilla's direction, and won't be able to attack our other team members.

The rest of the battle is very easy. After taking hits by the thief, Lucina will be ready to use Luna, that can ORKO the axe guy. Sharena also kills Navarre by one counter and one attack.

  5. My Cecilia is also 4* and -ATK +SPD. I only used her when I started to play this game since I didn't have any other mage. Now I'd rather replace her with a healer to heal other high ATK units. She dies a lot and is hard to level up, for she can hardly kill any enemy with a higher level.

This game is not like traditional FE games such as FE11, where most melee fighters have a relatively low RES. Here almost everyone have a decent RES, so mages really really really need high ATK. In addition, I don't like Escape Route. Because attacking before being attacked is so important, escaping is a waste of moves.

My interpretation is there are 3 or 4 pools for each color (depending on if the color has a focus pool).  When you select an orb, there is a 3% chance of going into the 5* focus (if available) and another 3% chance of going into the regular 5* pool.  When you get into these pools, the unit you get is completely random.

Before I read the summoning details, I thought exactly the same as you.

Since there are less white 5-star heroes than red ones, so is the appearance rate of a certain white hero higher than a certain red one? (I hope it's not the case. I only like Lucina and I don't want Takumi-lovers to be happier than me.)

  7. Here's what the game says:

    Quote

The Appearance rates for Heroes of the same rarity is the same. Example: if the appearance rate for a Hero of a certain rarity is 3% and there are four possible Heroes of that rarity, then the chance of summoning each Hero is 0.75%.

Suppose there are only 2 colors: red and blue. And suppose there are 4 red heroes and 2 blue heroes. Then, the chance of getting each hero is 0.5%. So the chance of getting a red 5-star (non-focus) hero is 0.5% x 4 = 2%, and getting a blue one is 1%.

Now suppose I press "summon" and see a red stone and a blue stone. What happens if I choose a certain color?

Possible world 1: red stones and blue stones appear at a equal chance (say 50% and 50%, since we supposed there are no other colors). So if I pick the red stone, it's more likely to get a 5-star hero than picking the blue stone.

Possible world 2: after pressing "summon", we have 2/3 chance to see a red stone and 1/3 chance to see a blue stone. So that getting a certain red hero is (1/4) * (2/3) * 3% = 0.5, which equals the chance of getting a certain blue hero, that is (1/2) * (1/3) * 0.3% = 0.5. If this is the case, then for a person who only likes Marth (red) or Azura (blue) and doesn't care about other heroes, choosing the blue stone is a better strategy because the chance of getting Azura is higher than the chance of getting Marth.

So, how does the summoning actually works, or which of the above two possible worlds is the real world? In the real case, Heroes are more complicated but the number of Heroes of different colors are not equal, anyway.

(I guess the former world, because maintaining a equal probability by varying the rarity of stones is more complicated in computation, taking other rarities into consideration.)

    ---------------

P.S. Why do I think about such a boring question? Because the game has already become boring and boring, so thinking about something stupid has become the only way to cheer myself up.

As much as I like Cecilia, I can't help but want more out of her as a unit. Right now, she's lv. 40 4-stars but stuck with the following stats:

    34 HP

    42 Atk

    23 Spd

    17 Def

    27 Res

    My 4-star Cecilia

    31 HP

    34 Atk

    24 Spd

    19 Def

    27 Res

She stays at level 37. She just refuses to hurt anyone and refuses to level up.
