  1. They'll easily make atleast 2 cards a character. add in an SR+ or combined SR+ art for Alfonse and Sharena and they're good.
  2. hmmm seeing as in Heroes Xander also stays with Veronica even though the contract is broken I can see this working out. there's also not a lot of Heroes specific characters anyway, so this is a good way to go about it.
  3. The only problem I've had with Vanessa, is that if she uses Pierce (which is not Luna, Pierce = ignore def and Luna = 50% def/res) while wielding the S-Rank lance Vidofnir on the final boss on EP without being in kill range and she's able to double him, then you'll break the game. the full Pierce animation takes shorter then the boss' HP bar to drop and because she still has to do an attack the command gets send, but blocked because the HP bar is not done yet and it's never send again so the game just stops. no freeze or anything, music continues normal, just nothing happens after and you need to reset #TrueStory.
  4. right so on the topic of hit/miss. PoR's system is like this: Accuracy= Weapon Hit + (Skill x 2) + Luck + Biorhythm bonus + Weapon triangle bonus + Support bonus Battle accuracy= Accuracy – enemy’s Avoid which is way too compicated for an RP if you wanna calculate things fast. RD's is even worse: Accuracy = Weapon Hit + (Skill x 2) + Luck + Weapon triangle bonus + Biorhythm bonus + Buddy support bonus + Leadership bonus + Affinity bonus + Height bonus + Range bonus So I'd suggest using the one from Awakening (omitting Weapon Rank bonus maybe?): Hit rate = Weapon’s Hit rate + [(Skill x 3 + Luck) / 2] + Weapon Rank bonus or if we want to keep it real simple (like some FE games do). Hit rate = Weapon's Hit rate + Skill (yes this really happens as the calculation in some games xP) On the topic of Laguz, I'd also suggest using the transform when a battle starts, like it's just like a Beaststone or Dragonstone user. the gauges are too annoying to keep up with anyway as well as the problem that stats change on transformation. This also differs per game (FE9 and FE10). So i'd say balance the stats to the transformed forms... which in turn might mean that either growths must be increased (FE10 transformed stats) or bases must be increased (FE9 transformed stats). This is because FE10 doubles stats on transformation except luck and hp (so we need to compensate using higher growths) and FE9 uses a set increase upon transformation based on laguz class (so we need to compensate the bases by these stats). FE10's system does allow for stronger laguz, seeing as in PoR they do tend to end up weaker than beorc because of Forged and legendary weapons (as well as that FE10's Laguz skills are waaaaay more interesting than FE9 ones).
  5. Mia, Ike, Nephenee. some Tellius bias op. honorable mentions almost all go to Sacred Stones, Lute, Selena and Marissa and off course Soren.
  6. seems like a lot of laguz (7) and swords (4) to me haha, magic with 3 (4 counting heron), 2 archers and 2 lances and 1 axe fighter... no cavaliers, no wyvern knights, one pegasi :D OP still has to post his own CS' I believe? but so far if I take into consideration the promotions, we might see an extra sword (Falcon Knight), an extra bow (Warrior (inb4 Berserker)) and an extra 2 lance users (Generals/Marshalls). Can I somehow bend some rules and become a cat laguz who uses beorc magic in arc 2? Who only fights in Laguz form when angry? xD Otherwise maybe join as a beorc branded mage? that way arc 2 has some diversity in units. Also I was totally not thinking about Tormod or Soren while writing this... kugh...
  7. System suggestion? oh do you mean going to the class growths and using those and altering them slightly to match the story/background of your unit? Anyways I just went through them, they look snazzy :D good bases and some healthy growth to specialize their attributes (str def for the bulky tiger girl Torrel, skl spd for the smaller than average hawk Strixal and the interesting concept of Lightmagic/GaldrBlessing heron being all around frail but decently nimble and good with magic Keanu,
  8. haha let's hope we find you a shade scroll then :P
  9. yes there is con in FE9 and FE10, but it's solely used for shove and smite I think... oh and rescue as well. according to Serenes page about the calculations for FE9 and FE10 this is the attack speed formula. Attack Speed= Speed – (Weapon Weight – Strength, take as 0 if negative) Double Attack if: (Attack Speed – enemy’s Attack Speed) >= 4
  10. that's up for your own interpretation there indeed ;) haha no I'm not, I've read every entry so far. still debating on entering the other acts :/
  11. thanks that you like it :D Seeing as your character is a Laguz though the total growthrate will be higher seeing as you cap at 20 in PoR. in RD they're toned-down a bit, because Laguz there could go to a 40 cap instead of 20. I also don't know which level cap OP wants to use :P I think RD because he said "no tier-three pre-promotes" but I'm not OP ;) side note: PoR has a weird class change stat algorhythm too, while RD just doubles every stat save for mov and con, which differs per Laguz class and being male or female (also there are no female tiger stats to compare it too *gasp* sexism in Fire Emblem confirmed)
  12. ok so as far as concerning growth rates... can we like make them atleast somewhat true to the classes and FE9 and FE10 games? I've seen a few balanced characters that I absolutely adore their stats, growth and base values, but there are also some that I question a bit too much.. ^^" I've thought of a way to regulate and balance it somewhat better, but OP still needs to decide how he wants stats to be incorporated anyway, so maybe it'll turn into Heroes and we all need to go back to the drawing boards :P That's why my "balancing idea" is in the spoiler tag down here.
  13. Aight if I can make the times I'd love to join, so here is my CS as well, put me in as an "Extra" for now. I can be away on seperate missions sometimes maybe? seeing as I'd like to play in act 3, maybe 2 and 1 as well. Name: Saun (pronounced like "sound" without the d) Gender: Male Age: 19 Height: 1,86m (about 6"1) Weight: 65kg (143 lbs) Race (Beorc or Laguz): Beorc Arc: 3 Role: Mercenary Class: Myrmiddon Weapons: A forged Steel Sword with Wt 10 instead of 12, in possesion of a worn down un-usable Vague Katti (see backstory, OP can judge). Weapon rank: B Growths: HP 60% Str 35% Mag 25% Skill 60% Speed 60% Luck 35% Def 15% Res 30% Stats: Lv. 15 HP 28 Str 14 Mag 8 Skill 17 Speed 18 Luck 12 Def 13 Res 15 Skills: Shove (but only little or light people his con is pretty abyssmal :P), Crit +5, Adept (if OP deems it too op it can go). Backstory: Saun is a guy hailing who has Begnion roots, but has lived in Crimea all his life and was also born in Crimea. His mother came from Begnion somewhere after the last Great war with the Radiant Hero in it. His father is a Crimean Blacksmith and his mother a Swordsmaster from Begnion. From since he was only little he had been practicing with a sword, learning how to fight with one as well as learning how to treat one well. He joined a mercenary group to help out the villages near to his hometown and hone his skills further. He never really took interest in smithing though like his father did, but looked to always improve his swordplay to honor his mother's legacy for she trained under Stefan who in turn was a far-off descendant from the Lion Hero of Old, Soan. His mother got into possesion of the Vague Katti when she finished training and wanted to go see more of the world. Stefan gave the Vague Katti to her to take it along and keep her safe on her journey. After seeing many battles the sword has become worn and run-down. With Saun's mother laying ill most of the time and his father refusing to repair the sword for he thinks he hasn't got the skill needed, the sword was handed to Saun so he may one day find a Blacksmith capable of reforging the Vague Katti into it's former glory. as a pastime Saun can be found in the Library studying history and magic, he's not capable of using any magic, but he's always had a certain knack for dealing with magic being thrown at him being a regular non-magic specialized foot-soldier. Appearance: A mixture of Crimson Red semi-long hair with some bright fiery red strands in it. Caucasian skin color and Green/Hazel eyes. Wearing slightly less traditional myrmiddon clothing, having a more "Edward like" style of clothing, but then in a Teal color mixed with some Darker Blue accents. he's build really slender and doesn't look all that strong, his physique definitely needs some work, but his speed and light-feet make him fast and skilled.
  14. Azura (Sapphire Lance+) and Effie (Massive att) can deal with Red units like it's nobody's business :D and seeing it's still RED Hero Emblem you're off to a great start there. Effie can probably take down a lot of Blue melee units like no big deal as well. Sanaki can blow stuff up pretty well too. there's not too many green units but with her lv 40 stats (51 att and 30 spd because of +) she will shred greens pretty easy and not fear magic users too much either. just keep her away from any and all blues and most red and colorless melees (azura can help with in and out tactics there). as said you can add Anna and use feathers on her to take down any blues in your game, she's great all-around. Oh as an added bonus I did some easy math for you, at max level and skills Effie and Sanaki if they start off next to each other on a turn Effie will have a whopping 54 att, now if you also make Sanaki attack while standing next to Effie. Then Effie will have an insane 58 att. If you then make her attack she'll end up at an enormous 64 attack due to her skill "Death Blow" (att +6 if unit initiates combat). in other words, they pair up really friggin nicely and I already fear meeting you in the arena when you hit level 40 xD
  15. +2 to ChibiToastExplosion, for throwing in a bonus ST card when payment was already done <3
  16. I really like the idea and I'm kinda intrigued to join. The thing standing out to me though is that act 1 and 3 closely resemble what happened in the games, which in these stories happened about a century ago. act 2 is the only one I see the potential in of being a standalone story expanding on Tellius' world. So I wonder how you plan on diverging act 1 and act 3 from the games, make them their own follow-up and not re-live type of story. Don't spoil too much or tweak it just because of my suspicion though, I'm just curious :D Act 4 to Hatari? It's the only country we know like absolutely nothing about and it be an interesting world to explore :$ also interested in what kind of CS you're going to use and when you plan on playing out these RP's (like weekly every fridayeve, or big sessions in the weekend or even the approximate timeslot for that matter. Which to me as an EU citizen is kinda important to know if I want to play with a US based host ;) )
  17. instead of doing dmg based rolls you could also do hit based rolls like in FE. and somewhat simplify the formula's used in the games. as an idea/example: Hit when: Weapon Hit - Enemy Avoid + D100 (which are basically D10 with added 0) = or > 100 you could also average out 2 D100's in this formula. and have skills like "Certain Blow" add 2 D20 values flat and have "-breaker" skills just subtract a whole dice from being thrown. you could do the same for activating things like Sol (throw a dice corresponding closest to the amount of skill the person has (D10/D12/D16/D20) and see if it matches atleast the activation rate). problem I see there though is that you can't get it perfect percentage wise to the game :/ certainly when the skill stat passes the 20 mark. I haven't thought out how to fix that ^^"
  18. well I think for a board game it should be like Player vs AI in co-op mission Style. You could try to implement it with skills like how D&D does it. or give certain characters certain skills anyway and make people chose from the start trying to make it with that character all the way to the end. In the case of dmg and def, I'd go with dice rolls for hit miss and dmg calculations. the weapon triangle could be included for a certain "hard" mode, but exclude it for casual (and to save calculating dmg times) I'd say you could use existing characters from various games and treat it kinda like heroes does, just on slightly bigger maps? maybe with reinforcements and stuff. A board game for FE to me closely resembles something like that, there's a star wars game like that, as well as Mechs & Minions that kinda does this kind of game. there might be better examples out there though.
  19. I had it on Nah in Awakening, she could take a few hits on EP phase and then get the health back easily on PP. I can't remember if I ran a lot of healers so that was a nice touch for me, which in turn made me value the skill, because it had a practical use for me. oh yeh, I missed that. hmmm interesting, I've never played Genealogy except for the prologue and seeing some random bits of chapters here and there on youtube (can't remember if it was by Ghast or Mageknight, small chance it was Mangs). I might need to go and get it to go and play it :D
  20. I thought we were talking about the issue of levels, not money? But yes I know reclassing isn't free xD Makes me wonder how much Lifetaker costs to buy as well, it's probably more cost-efficient that way as well as in time and being in the sub-optimal class (which I already agreed on was the easier and better way). keywords to consider in my earlier post are: If you're doing a specific type of run Then you can get it, If you want it. meaning it falls to the person playing in question to consider whether it's worth the 4k gold and effort in that case. In my personal opinion that means yes, in your personal opinion that means no. Agreed? I'd say agreed. And I meant in Cipher, seeing as I was referring to Tine's (Tinny's) cards. Like will they name the class "Mage Fighter" like in the original Genealogy of the Holy War or will they do something else? and if so will they represent them with only tomes or will they also present them with swords for some cards? I hope that explains slightly better what I was trying to convey with that earlier message ^^" edit: In googling how to write Mage Fighter in japanese it seems like they did classify the card as "Mage Fighter". so she atleast is portrayed with tomes as the main weapon. So that narrows down my question for speculation to if they will portray any Mage Fighter wielding swords in the future.
  21. yes, but in Fates the level doesn't reset, which means you're only in a sub-optimal class for 2-4 levels if you switch at lv 11-13 (depending if mage was your base class or not) and onward (you can re-class back at 15). so the comparison to Awakening is... sub-optimal in this case? ;) as for online buying, yes that's always a nice option and I agree. if however you do a no DLC & no Castle run then you can go out of your way for 4 levels to get it, if wanted that is. Also oh dammm that looks awesome! I wonder if and how they are going to portray the Mage Fighter class, if they try to do that at all. I don't think they will, seeing as for Grandmaster Robin they just switched the weapons between male and female Robin. but it would be cool though ^^
  22. uhm... what about "Lifetaker"? I'll always make sure my units get that skill before going to become a Sorcerer full-time.
  23. I'll always be biased in this case towards Selena in FE8, I just loved her from the get-go. the way she's loyal to her country, does doubt the kings motives, fights for what she believes is right and does fight to the last straw even though she knows stuff is going wrong within her country. her caring act to help the citizens of Renais by paying Eirika as she thinks she's a mercenary even furthers her role as a loveable enemy general in my book. She can't be openly seen helping the citizens of the enemy, but she still does what she can in that situation. She also lets Myrrh go even though she can't give back the dragonstone, but she atleast saves Myrrh from dying. I really really felt dreaded that I had to kill her. In my playthrough I went so far as to make her run out of tome uses and just being really sad I couldn't do anything at all to save her... so in the end I just had to let Ephraim spear her to death. It was the worst feeling I've had in the Fire Emblem games killing an enemy unit (so far).
  24. hmmm oh yeah I forgot all about forging tomes. for some reason I did remember forging Silver Weapons, but I kind of never forged tomes. Most magic users 1 shot or 1 round most units anyway save for maybe tiger laguz and warriors in the last chapter. also slightly biased towards cool animations, but that's not so relevant to dmg output ^^' so then C-rank everything besides Thunder would be better?
