  1. Graci, @MrSmokestack. Was leaning Draconic Aura so I'll start with that. I'll probably add Moonbow for that QP combo later since defensive arena wins are getting harder to come by lately.
  2. I'm sure questions about Reinhardt builds have been asked to death. I just haven't found a definitive answer on his special. After reading other posts and sites, I've narrowed my choices down to: - Luna or Draconic Aura (w/ attack seal) - Moonbow or Dragon Fang (w/ quickened pulse seal) I'm running a pretty standard Deathblow3/Lancebreaker3 build, he does not have an attack boon (Res+/Spd) and I plan to use him on and outside a cavalry team. What do you think is the best choice and why?
  3. Very helpful, thank you. Just a couple follow up questions on Camus: if not QR, do you feel Vantage would be the best pairing to Fury? And is bonfire the right call as his special or would ignis be better if he's consistently going to be doubling units?
  4. I have a few new characters I'm working on. I'd really welcome an expert eye and any feedback/changes to these skillsets I'm planning: Reinhardt (Res+/Spd-) Tharja (Atk+/Def-) Camus (Neu) Masked Lucina (Neu)
  5. Is it worth keeping a Spd+/Def- Klein? I finally drew my first Klein & I'd like to feed DB3 to Reinhardt but won't if that's a solid IV to build up.
  6. Is a Spd+/Def- Klein a bad enough IV to sacrifice? I finally drew my first Klein & I'd like to feed DB3 to Reinhardt. Looks like Atk+/Res might be ideal but I hate to dust my only Klein unless he's not useful with that nature.
  7. I like the balance of having two melee, two tomes on the team. I hesitate because I think I got sucked into the hype of Camus being 'Blue Xander...only better!' yet now that he's out, he's not quite as dominant (darn good, just not as gamechanging as projected.) That said, I still lean his direction because he'll probably make the biggest improvement to that team. Anything look off with this setup? Xander: swap/bonfire/fury/vantage/hone Cecelia: blade/drawback/draconic aura/deathblow2/g tomebreaker/fortify Ursula: blade/drawback/moonbow/deathblow2/desperation/hone or goad Camus: reposition/bonfire/fury/qr/fortify
  8. Would it be better to promote an Hp+/Spd Reinhardt or Camus first for my cavalry team? Currently, I have Xander (bonfire/fury/Vantage) Cecilia (Spd+/Def, blade) and Ursula (blade). Still playing around with builds for Cecilia and Ursula. I was hoping for an Atk+ Rein but I'm starting to wonder if this neutral one is good enough to promote over Camus. Eventually, it might make sense to promote both and replace Ursula.
  9. Nice, I figured there might be something like that since you can preview promotions without confirming. I didn't want to assume there would be and get surprised that they just merged.
  10. That's exactly what I was searching for, thanks! Tough call, attack would be nice but I may hold off to see if I draw a TikiY or Fae.
  11. I'm considering merging and +1'ing a Spd+/Def Nowi into my Spd+/Res Nowi. I searched but couldn't find, in what order are stats increased as you +1 a unit? (e.g. the two highest, two lowest)? I'd like to know which two stats will increase to decide if merging is better than giving her Lightning Breath to someone else.
  12. It does, thanks. I'll go with the Bonfire/Fury/Vantage build I planned and hold off on any variants for now. I can always bring in TriAdept/QR later on if I get wrecked by green/blade attacks. I'm excited to 5* him...I haven't been getting any defensive arena wins lately and his distant counter should help change that.
  13. I leaned towards Def+3 as a way to possibly hold onto QR for another turn. Triangle Adept or Attack+3 were my other two considerations for the defensive A skill. Attack/Defense +2 would have been perfect if I had a Spring Chrom, but alas...
  14. @MrSmokestack (or whoever else feels like weighing in): wanted to ask a quick question before I start my epic Xander build I'm looking at taking both my Xanders, leveling and building them up in different directions, then merging to create a 5* monster that allows me to play offensively and defensively, depending on team (I don't just want to run him in Horse Emblem, but as a Ryoma/Ike-type red w/ my infantry team) Looking at your write-up and quite a few other posts, I'm thinking of these splits: - Offensive: Bonfire/Fury3/Vantage3 - Defensive: Ignis/Def+3/QR2 Thoughts on those skill sets...or any different direction you'd take either of those builds?
  15. A couple weeks ago, I drew Soren (Res+/Def-) trying to pull for Ike (built my bonus up to 5% before a Seliph w/ a terrible IV ruined it...w/ my last 4 orbs, the green next to him turned out to be Soren, so I've got a soft spot for him redeeming a bad situation) I have a finished Spd+/Def- Nino so I don't want to go the Nino-light route with him. Looking for something different, I was thinking: Gronraven (vanilla) Iceberg TriAdept2 Green Tomebreaker3 With this build, I thought I'd try running Soren alongside Sanaki (TriAdept/Swordbreaker) and Nowi (Moonbow/TriAdept/QR). I was also looking into Gronnowl builds but, honestly, pulling Boey just to sacrifice him might be a little more than I can swing as F2P. What do you think about the Soren build and the team makeup?
