  1. Well, seeing as they're silent, I imagine they aren't saying very much.
  2. Is now a bad time to say Rowlett was not my starter in Pokemon Sun? Actually went with Popplio, since I saw so much negative press for the little guy before hand. (Unfortunatly, I'm not much of an artist either. I'd say a writer... but I'm terrible in that field as well.) I've been watching the great CWverse, though I am significantly behind in them. I do think they are decent shows, though, and I enjoy them. I was a long-termcomic reader before they came around, but they definitely piqued my interest in certain characters, so...
  3. Eh. If it's a university-level course, I'd probably go back for my notes; no way I'd trust to it just being there the following day.
  4. I'm listening to this cool band. You've probably never heard of them.
  5. Spoiler tags! Jeez! Next thing ya know, you'll be telling everyone that Darth Vader is Luke's father. ... more seriously, I know nothing about any FE pre-Awakening. I don't mind getting plot spoilers for a remake based on those games, but I'm not seeking them out, either. So, whatevs, really. Is my own fault for being so late to the party after all.
  6. Welcome! Only games I've played and can provide any perspective on are Awakening and Fates, so hopefully I'll see ya around in those forums sometime. Aside from that... well, like I said: welcome!
  7. In all honesty? My first run of Fates, I wasn't entirely sure how the second class feature worked. So I just ended up using the default stuff. For my current run, I'm... probably going to do much the same. I'm handwaving it away as story-based though; after all, Birthright and Conquest are both predicated upon Corrin/Kamui/not!Robin picking a side between two kingdoms. Playing that route out with them being a Hoshido/Nohr Noble seems like the most natural direction for that route to take. So... no Archertar, yet. Might try doing something like that when I do my Revelations run though; having every unit and being able to grind to my hearts content to max out skills ought to give me a little bit of incentive in that regard. Not freaked out at all. Honestly, I'd have been tempted to reply with some kind of Green Arrow-based response if you hadn't added this post So yeah, on the topic of non-Fire Emblem based interests? Arrow, obviously. I'm a big comic book nerd anyway, but that show helped get me into the Green Arrrow comics proper. I've been learning how to play tabletop RPG's for a while now, though the only one I'm half-way competent at is Pathfinder. I'm a bit of an anime dork. I'm also a fan of just reading, though I've been rather slacking in that regard; main book fandoms are A Song of Ice and Fire and Brandon Sanderson's cosmere.
  8. Hey there! I fall very much into that "new player base", in that Awakenings and Fates have been my only exposure to the franchise, so no debates from me I'm afraid.
  9. Thanks, I hope to! In fiction as a whole? Yeah, I like archers. That archetype is an especially cool one to me. Quiver is the name/handle/whatever that I use on a couple of different forums, which is why I carried it over here. In the games proper? I don't know if they're my favourite class, since I don't know if I've played enough to have a favourite. Virion was a mainstay in my Awakening party, and my main archer for that game. In Fates... I'm sure it isn't a surprise to anyone to know that I used Takumi in my Birthright run. I also turned Sakura into a Priestess so she could use a yumi... at which point she turned into my MVP. Maybe I just got lucky with hits and crits, but she ended up being a healbot with a sniper rifle, alternating between fixing the other party members health and setting up enemies for the other party members to finish off.
  10. Just wondering if there are any fans of table top RPG's here. I've been playing Pathfinder for a little while now, and been enjoying that game (and that system) pretty well. Also been meaning to learn Legend of the Five Rings, the Mistborn Adventure Game and the A Song of Ice and Fire RPG systems for a while now.
  11. I've started playing through Conquest after beating Birthright, and I was wondering if I could get some quick pointers on something: when is it a good time to re-class characters? During Birthright, I maxed characters out before swapping their classes. Obviously, doing things that way involved doing some grinding between missions and feeding enemies to characters to max out their weapon skills and experience. I don't think that's really going to be an option in the Conquest route. I'm still pretty early on it, but I'm wondering when would be a good time to start using seals and shuffling classes around. (Particularly for Mozu. She's starting to get decent and be able to score some kills as a villager, but I'm wondering what the best level range to drop a seal on her would be.)
  12. Hello! New member here, so hope no one minds me introducing myself. I feel like I should say something clever, but I'm just not that funny. To be honest, while I say I'm new, that should probably be taken in the most literal way possible. I'm not just new to the forum; I'm also new to the games themselves. I picked up a copy of Awakenings a few months ago, but only got around to actually playing it rather recently. Once I did, though, I got sucked in pretty quickly, and went ahead and picked up Fates as well. At the time of posting this, I've finished Birthright, and am working on Conquest. I never actually finished Awakenings, so I'm thinking that might be next on the list... unless I really want to go ahead and play Revelations first. ... So, yeah, I think I've covered all of the basics for a post like this. Like I said, total newbie, so I might end up lurking rather than posting often, but... well, hope to see some of you guys around!
