Ohh, this is very long for Fire Emblem standards. Awesome!

I can’t decide for the most part tbh.
For the teachers I’m pretty sure I’ll go for Seteth & Catherine. Black Eagles will most likely be Ferdinand and Bernadetta (unless I will really like Petra’s timeskip design).
Now to the Blue Lions & Golden Deer. For the female characters it’ll be either Mercedes or Ingrid. For the male characters it depends on whether, again, I will like Sylvain’s timeskip design, otherwise it’s Felix.
Okay, onto the Golden Deer. I need to see Ignatz’ design, if I don’t like what I see it’ll maybe be Claude actually, even if I don’t like romancing lords.
Heck, maybe I’ll go all the way with the cavs and do Ferdinand/Sylvain/Lorenz. It depends on whether I will like them or not. In other words it’s too early for me to decide...
Edit: Totally forgot to mention the female Golden Deer pick. Well, I can’t decide between Lysithea and Marianne, so yeah...

I will go for the Golden Deer in my first playthrough and I am going to get Sylvain and Ashe so that I have two extra cavaliers. And if I can then maybe Bernadetta and Linhardt.

This is definitely a possibility! They did say that Three Houses has a different way of character interactions (as we know now). So it wouldn’t be too surprising if they dropped support conversations.
Still I’d love to see them and have them confirmed before the game releases. Base conversations like they did in Tellius or Echoes even were amazing too and would be awesome in Three Houses!

Do we know how support conversations work? We know that we can raise our support with characters via different activities but how do we unlock the actual support conversations?
Do we have them on the battle field like in the GBA games or in the basement like in Awakening/Tellius etc.? It’d be nice to know this, especially the ones with Byleth since they’re silent.
If I remember correctly this was one of the topics addressed before Fates came out...

I’m starting with the Golden Deer class
My Byleth has no access to the hero class, so I’m thinking of making her into a swordmaster or cavalier.
Claude: Lord class. Specializes in bows & lances.
Lorenz: Cavalier. Specializes in lances, swords and axes.
Hilda: Pegasus Knight. Specializes in lances & bows.
Raphael: Warrior. Specializes in axes, lances & gauntlets.
Lysithea: Mage. Specializes in black & white magic.
Ignatz: Archer or cavalier. Specializes in bows.
Marianne: Cleric. Specializes in white & black magic.
Leonie: Cavalier. Specializes in lances & bows.
If I can steal them:
Ashe: Cavalier. Specializes in bows & axes.
Sylvain: Cavalier. Specializes in lances, swords & axes.
Linhardt: Dark mage. Specializes in dark magic.
Bernadetta: Archer or mage.
Well this is my current plan for my class. I wonder if I can steal 4 students...

Does this mean that Edelgard’s route is the canon one? She has the biggest connection to the church due to her empire and crest. In that case I’ll do her path last.

Female Byleth doesn’t look that young tbh. She is definitely older than the students. Drawing female characters with bigger eyes than their male counterparts is a normal stylistic choice in manga.
My biggest problem with female Byleth are her clothes and she gets rid of them after she changes her class, so as a woman who is arguably older than most people I don’t mind her at all.

It's way too early for shipping for me but I am interested in the relationship between Edelgard and Hubert as well as Dimitri and Ingrid (classic lord x pegasus knight ship lol). And possibly Claude and Hilda. But yeah, I gotta play the game first.

Okay, now that I got an idea of how the personalities of these characters are (we even got a glimpse of Leonie) I will update my tier list. This time I'll only include the students. This will be my definitive pre-release tier list which now takes their both personalities and their design into account:
S-tier: Lysithea
A-tier: Edelgard, Ingrid, Mercedes, Claude, Dimitri, Ferdinand, Felix, Sylvain, M!Byleth
B-tier: Marianne, Bernadetta, Petra, Hubert, Dedue, Ashe, Ignatz
C-tier: Hilda, Dorothea, Anette, Linhardt, Caspar, Raphael
D-tier: Leonie, F!Byleth
Lorenz tier: Lorenz
Sylvain, Petra, Ignatz & Dorothea go up, Linhardt goes down.

Not really. I’ve chosen the Golden Deer and with every week I’m more convinced that this is the right choice. The characters designs of some characters are criticized a lot but I adore them with the exception of Lorenz! And Lorenz still can redeem himself with his post timeskip design, so I’m fine.

Ever since the Treehouse footage I have been wondering who Linhardt was since his voice was so familiar but now I remember: Isn’t he the same voice actor who did Kilff? I’m not familiar with the VA’s name but I think it’s him??

This is a shame. I would’ve loved Cristina Vee as Edelgard, she would’ve been perfect imo! But these things happen, it can’t be helped. I’m pretty sure the new VA will be awesome too!

Golden Deer. They’re a cute bunch, plus I’m very interested in the Leicester Alliance and Claude. I’m thinking of stealing Ashe, Sylvain and possibly Bernadetta. Though if the requirements of getting them is too difficult, I’ll ditch them.
