i'm having the same issues as you, but I haven't even completed the game, just finished chapter 12. This is my first FE game (Birthright) and I enjoy it a lot but it's just this inner voice that keeps telling me that I don't know anything about this game and I don't utilize at all it's potential and variety of options. Lately I find it hard to come back because even though I complete chapters and challenges and have fun with some tactics I still feel ridiculously stupid because I have no idea about optimal pairings, skills, reclasses, seals, best classes for each character. I feel like a small kid using chess pieces to form figures on the floor instead of actually playing the proper game... I feel like I shouldn't even bother with Conquest where apparently every class/skill/pairing has to be carefully preplanned, calculated and executed in order to beat the game..
