  1. Can Micaiah finally get some leadership stars in this patch?
  2. What about something simple, like "Samurai", or "Shinobi"?
  3. This is actually my favourite Fire Emblem game, even though if I think about rationally, I have no way of justifying why it's my favourite. Story and gameplay wise, FE7 is pretty much better in every way. The RNG is absolutely atrocious, it doesn't really have anything different from the other GBA titles, and it's overall quite bland. But it's still my favourite, for some reason.
  4. Hm, just a small thing, even though I didn't take a video of it, Shaver still freezes the game if it misses (this is in the Vergil patch). This is after I missed a 95%, but whatever.
  5. I love how Micaiah goes back to save one kid, and three guys get butchered by Jarod as a result.
  6. Yes, if written well, that is perfectly fine. The most important thing about a villain (in my opinion) is his ability to make the player/reader/viewer want to defeat them. If you can get the player to do that while putting a tragic and sympathetic backstory, that's even better, but if you lack the first criteria, then you haven't yourself much of a villain. Lyon just doesn't give me that sort of feeling. The only thing you feel when you beat Lyon is "well I've put you out of your misery, have a better time in your afterlife, Lyon" as opposed "Man you had that coming".
  7. All I have to say about if you think that FE7 lacks character development and depth and that you've closed your eyes and aren't looking. First and foremost, the protagonists are not stagnant, at least from my view. Lyn grows from a rather stubborn and vengeful young lass to someone who is more accepting (as seen with the bandits vs pirates) and willing to throw aside her feelings for what is better for the big picture (See Jaffar). Hector goes from a "well-known lout" to someone who isn't as much so, and is ready to take on responsibility after his brother dies. Eliwood goes from a rather naive little kid to quote "the greatest knight in Lycia". Lords aside, the Supports have made a rather big web of backstory for every single in the game, the best example would be that of Renault, whom you would just think is some random bishop in game instead of the rather intricate character that he actually is. It is far from stagnant. About Lyon, while he is very well-developed, your statement is probably exaggerating it a bit. Just because he's well developed doesn't mean he has to be a good villain. I've been wanting to reply to the Nergal vs Lyon argument for a while, and I'll just leave you all with this. Which villain makes you hate him more, Nergal or Lyon? Nergal's secret backstory aside (which you have to work your ass off to find), he's not any worse than Lyon simply by the fact that he is much more defined as a villain than Lyon is. He makes you hate him, which in turn makes the protagonists relatively more endearing. Darth Vader was a much cooler villain when he was just the badass dude in a black suit strangling all his mooks than after the prequels gave you his "backstory". The emperor is more hate-able because he was one-dimensional. Lyon, on the other hand, doesn't make me feel anything for him apart from pity, really. A well-developed villain is good, but if he can't make the reader/player/viewer want to beat him, well he's missed the point of being a villain.
  8. All I can say after reading the OP was... wow. I never bothered to look for plot-holes like that. However, I think you are looking too far into the details and not looking at the big picture. FE7 is a game, after all, not a novel, and therefore the main aim is... to be fun. Lyn's bandit chapters got boring, but the purpose was to teach the player how to play the game and get significant practice before launching into the main game, which is Chapter 11 - Final. Remember, this is the first game in the series to be targeted to the west, and they spent a large amount of time making sure those people were up to scratch. About the plot-holes, do they severely detract from the story? I doubt it. I'm quite sure if you just look at the plot as a whole (which is basically your bog-standard Hero's Journey), you would find it to be quite an enjoyable and engaging one. Even the most epic looking statue would look like crap if you got your magnifying glass out and examined every single hole.
  9. You could just make them both throwable, can't you? I'll miss the OPness of 1-2 range Durandal o_0. lol I remember them. I had to stick Rutger + Durandal in front of them (in the old patch where they had 1-2 range) and hope that I get a crit o_0. Those Bishops are retarded. Oh yes, yes, yes. Longbows are so annoying.
  10. Another little glitch, Malte restarts the game if you use it a 2 range.
  11. Hm, I'm playing through Chapter 20x at the moment (the one where you get Malte), and the game freezes every time you use Fa to attack. Also, why does promoted Lilina have a general sprite and is weak to Armorslayer o_0
  12. Firstly, which item do you promote Guinevere with? Secondly, I found a few more problems, highlighted in the video: .1) Forblaze (and Aureola as well, I found out later) hits on physical defense instead of resistance for some reason. 2) Short Bow seems to freeze at 1 range. (I know it does 0 damage in the video, but I found it earlier and I decided to record it on the general). Thirdly, I'm glad Niime got a buff =D
  13. Something I came across while playing in the desert chapter (Chapter 14), pretty much all explained in the video: I had to do the same for the boss as well, he seemed to have two lives as well.
  14. 1) Bows are ridiculous now o_0 2) Animation doesn't show when Lilina counterattacks with the Luna Driver
  15. Hm, can someone please upload the patch onto Megaupload, or Rapidshare or something like that? For some reason, my anti-virus is flagging it as "dangerous". That would really help, thanks.
  16. Just saying: Why has Thorben recruited nomads into his castle? I thought he hated them o_0
  17. Wow this doesn't look as epically blessed as some of the others I'm seen on this thread any more (Level 20 Roy, I'm looking at you). +4.9 HP, +2.4 Skill, +4.7 Speed, +3 Luck and +11.2 Defense for a mere -1.3 in Resistance.
  18. FE6 Sages have got to be one of the most broken non-Lord or non-Special character classes ever. This is probably due to the fact that Anima magic is just plain overpowered in FE6 (Hell, just look at Aircalibur: 2 Wt, 8 Power and 85 hit, ridiculous) and the fact that most of your enemies have like zero resistance.
