  1. If this had been last summer, I would have picked the first option without a moment's hesitation. However, this year (going into my final year), I think I have gained a greater appreciation of the value of knowledge in bringing happiness (indeed, as Bertrand Russell said, "There is much pleasure to be found in useless knowledge"). Therefore, I go to school with a renewed sense of purpose; instead of seeing the knowledge from school as pointless at worst and simply a means to an end at best, I shall see the value of knowledge in a new light. gee_wiz_emoticon.gif

  2. have you considered that no man would ever love the repulsive straight, flat hair she described? anyone with hair like that should just kill themselves right now and do the world a favor

There are plenty of girls at my school with flat hair that I consider to be very beautiful. mellow.gif

  3. I'm generally more of a green or black tea person. Oolong if I want to kick back, ginseng if I need a kick. But, then again, I'll drink just about any kind of tea.

Except earl gray. I can't stand bergamot.

But the orange flavor compliments the black tea so well! Yeah I agree that Oolong is very good as well.

  4. I'm sorry its far too deep in the Post a fact thread, i'm not like Soul that saves posts like that/the pages they are on.

Just add a spoon or 2 of sugar :awesome:

Sugar (and especially milk or cream) destroys the flavor of any hot beverage when added. The bitterness is part of the aroma of coffee (much like it is part of the aroma of chocolate) and I feel that adding sugar to it really takes that away. Although I'm fine with people adding sugar and milk to coffee (I just don't do it myself), I am disgusted to see people do the same thing with tea. Blah!

  5. So I woke up this morning and began my normal morning routine by brewing some tea. To my horror, there was only 1 bag left of my favorite Earl Grey tea. I plan on restocking today and I would like to buy another box of Earl Grey. However, it would take be about a month to go through that box which means that I probably will not be drinking any other type of tea until September. I'm wondering what everyone's favorite type of tea is so I can factor that in when I go shopping for more tea today.

  6. No. A man like Bertrand Russell should be quite capable of realizing that who is "left" on this "earth" is a matter left up to debate as well.

He's saying that its foolish to use war to settle ideological disputes since the outcome of the war has nothing to do with the merits of the ideologies being fought over.

  7. Appearance wise I'm not sure since none of the FE characters that I can recall at the moment have glasses. Personality wise I think I resemble Oliver (don't run away just yet) in that I am passionate about my pursuits. Also I think I'm a bit more romantic and a lot less perverted than Oliver. I think I can also be extremely naive at times, much like Pelleas.

  8. I like Popeyes but I don't like how there's not many chains here compared to KFC >_>

Well I guess its because Popeyes is more recent than KFC and therefore had less time to expand. That being said, there are about 20 fast food restaurants within a 10 min walk from where I live (they're all there to capitalize on the fact that a lot of students like to eat fast food for lunch) so getting fried chicken is never a problem for me tongue.gif. However, I do have to exercise restraint and follow my "One fast food meal per three months" rule.

  9. Here's two funny ones that I found about war:

"Wars do not prove who is right -only who is left"

    -Bertrand Russell

"I know not what WWIII will be fought with, but WWIV will be fought with sticks and bones."

    - Albert Einstein
