I have an interesting story planned for him. There might be some hints as to his past in v0.1.4 or v0.1.5 whenever I get to working on those.Speaking of, do you have any interesting events or somesuch planned for ol' Kruge? He's not a bad unit by any stretch, but I don't quite see many people giving up the classic Hol for him as it stands now.
Let's call that a feature of the 0.1 release... It'll be a nice reward for people who actually try that challenge, I guess! I'll leave it in in future bugfixes but I'll make sure to properly fix it whenever 0.2 gets released.[spoiler=Question about 3-2]No reinforcements spawn if you kill Eltshan. Is this an intentional reward for killing a hard boss? Because I can skip out on fighting the Thracian Knights since the castle is unguarded. Also he's got a boss battle theme.
I doubt she will specifically be able to use both but I might do something with her. The second generation still has a long way to go though so I can't make any promises yet!I have been meaning to ask for basically a favor or maybe just a reccomendation. If possible could you make it So Altenna dual wields the Gungnir and Gae Bolg for the final part? Kinda like how One should've at the end of Radiant Dawn I feel Altenna definitely would've dual wielded the two. Heck I would make the custom animation for ya if you would do it So we can have the thing that kinda should've happened in fe 4. Thank you for the reccomendation, Joker
Glad to hear you're enjoying the hack!Altena only has Noba blood. She can only use the Gaebolg. I doubt Pi will mess up the entire settings just to make her badass.
Besides, why we just Altena? Y want fucking Arion in MY partyAlso, great hack Pi: I'm in love with it, keep the good work!!!The Light Brand doesn't seem to account for any bonuses for the attack calculation.
Here's Ethlyn.
Here's an enemy Pirate.
11 Mag + 9 Mt - 1 Res = 19 Attack. Which is correct.
Gave Ethlyn the magic ring.
Attacking the same pirate should yield:
11 Mag + 3 from Magic ring + 9 Mt - 1 Res = 22 Attack
But it ends up being the same damage without the magic ring.
Good catch! I forgot to add the magic bonus check there... The light brand is supposed to use the physical formula at melee though, I'll have to fix that! I'm impressed you went out of the way to get that Light brand, haha.At melee the Light Brand's damage calculation is (Str + Mag) / 2 - Enemy Res. So I just used someone with higher res to initiate a fight to get him to switch to the steel sword.
There won't be any news update other than potential bugfix releases until around fall. I'm currently busy doing a bunch of work for Maiden of Darkness, an FE6 hack. Check it out when it gets released, it will be using a few mechanics from this hack!I heard this is dead, but it doesn't seem that way. Can I get a confirmation of living-ness?

Kruge is the alternate fight you can get instead of Holyn in chapter 2-1. You'll end up fighting him if you send someone who can't fight Holyn (There's two obvious candidates for this, although there should be 4 units in total that can fight Kruge.)

I'm not sure what the original script says, but Eve does talk about his brothers in the translation, so I assume they're actually male (unless the japanese somehow refers to their sibling status without genders...)Hey just a minor thing of no real consequence, just something I picked up on. Is Eve's gender actually mentioned anywhere in FE4? Japanese is a language that's a lot less specific with gender pronouns in the first place, so it could be a non-issue, but both of the wikis (not a reputable source, I'm aware) refer to them as a 'he,' whereas you seem to do the opposite. Chances are there's nothing officially stated one way or the other, leaving us only to go off on their character art which is pretty much the generic 'dude' clothes for FE4 characters.
Though I prefer the idea of her being a cool-ass lady paladin, it's just something I noticed.
The main reasons Eve is a lady now is twofold:
One - There aren't a lot of women with more military roles in the story, so changing the genders of some minor characters helps,
Two - I wanted Eve to be playable, and the gender ratio for playable characters *does* matter given FE4's major gameplay mechanic. There's already 13 male characters and only 7 female characters for that, so making Eve a lady is the better option.
That is one buff Noish! I'm also impressed you managed to get that many levels on Eve, dang.Just finished a run of the hack, decided to actually remember to screenshot my final team this time! Some thoughts about the hack in general and the aforementioned squad 'neath the Spoiler.
First and foremost I'm absolutely in love with this hack. It's nice to be able to re-experience FE4 without making as huge of a commitment and having it in a generally more "bite-sized" fashion. It's a lot easier to pick up and play, in any case. I'm a huge Jugdral fanboy so I have a handful of things that were changed that I'd rather have not been, but that's not really so much an issue with the hack itself as it is with my rampant bias, so it's not really worth going into detail. I had a lot of fun and am eagerly awaiting future patches. The mug sprites that are finished/nearing completion are absolutely beautiful and so are many of the custom animations. There's just no question about how much love and effort went into this hack, and that's something I really admire.
Anyway, onto the team;
This is Sigurd. He sure is Sigurd, in this hack. You've gotten enough of an earful about him, I'm sure.
Azel's great! I adore his personal skill, how it encourages sticking to his native element and what have you. He's good at what he does. He nukes things, and he does it twice pretty often. It's an admirable level of specialization.
Noish is fantastic, no two ways about it. He's not particularly lacking in any major stat, he's got a horse and two weapon types, and a downright fantastic personal skill. You can't go wrong with this guy, really.
Congrats, Pi. You turned a walking (or... slowly stumbling) joke into an unstoppable juggernaut, provided nothing sparkly and wizardly comes his way. I like what you did with the ol' dude, needless to say. He has a couple very specific jobs, and he does them with no problem.
Jamka's an archer, he arches with extreme prejudice. I had my second thoughts about rolling with him over Midir in this run on occasion, but in the long run I'm happy with what I got. He hits things, he crits things, and he shits on everything! (... as long as they're not adjacent.)
Lex is the fucking man. He could've gotten empty level-ups the entire way through and I still would've used him because I fucking love this guy. He did his job well this run, I didn't expect much from the speed growth, but was always holding out hope for a bit more. He hits like a truck and can take blows almost as well as he can dish 'em out. The personal skill is great, and saved my ass more times than I can count with a clutch insta-kill.
I probably could've used ol' Memeadon Girl more often, but I didn't. She played a significant enough role, and cleaned shirtless ruffians right the fuck up once I set her up with the Lady Sword, she was basically untouchable for any asshole who thought he could just walk right up with an axe and step to her.
You have no idea how excited I was to use Eve once I saw her new skill. I'm already in love with Light Magic and mounted units, and having a gambling skill is right up my alley. I don't have much to say other than I was extremely biased for her and wanted to see her be really good. She's solid in about every stat, and generally a really fun unit to use. I can't wait to see if she ever gets casting animations. I set her up with the Florid Opal for bonus random stat-boosting shenanigans, and it was a grand ol' time. One thing that struck me as a bit odd is the odd rust color her battle sprite was, considering what a vibrant red her hair and eyes are. I guess she can't look too much like an enemy unit, huh?
Hi Kruge. He wasn't as balls-to-the-walls as some of the Holyns in this thread, but he's solid in all his most important stats, and having a B rank lance user after I decided I wasn't going to use Fin helped me out a lot. His personal skill isn't the best out there, and it's pretty heavily situational, but it's a neat novelty for the character. I wish I got to use it more, but things just didn't turn out that way.
Ethlin was my staffbot of choice, by virtue of having a horse. She didn't see much combat as a result, and wound up handing her sword over to Ayra, but she was still an invaluable member of the team I would've been completely lost without.
I don't think there's much I can say about Fury, really. She's the only flier I got my hands on, and she did her flier thing really well. She made a lot of clutch rescues, and... y'know, flier stuff. Solid character overall.
This is Sylvia. She's a dancer. She dances. Sword Dance is really goddamn cool, though. Digging the custom animations so far, too.
Beo Boy here was a last-minute addition to the final chapter team. He performed very well considering it was the first time I ever fielded him after being recruited, and I'm in love with his in-battle palette. It's very plain, but it fits a simple guy like Beowulf. I've always been fond of the character, but wasn't really considering using him as a full-time member on the team. That might change next time, though.
Back-up healer for the final few chapters, as well as providing that all-important veil and getting Eltshan the fuck out of my face. I didn't use her much, so I don't have much of an opinion. Ended up giving her the Thief Knife for a while, though. That was pretty fun when I could actually get her in there. She's a great character, just not one I felt like using here.
Oh hey, Dew. He, uh, opened chests and doors. That's really about it. I kind of neglected him early on and it was all downhill from there until I needed to pop open some boxes.
I,uh... also didn't realize I forgot to lock the Thief Sword properly. Oops...
Glad to hear you're enjoying it! I look forward to hearing your feedback when you're done with it.Hay there! just wanted to say that this hack of FE IV to gba style is awesome! it really gives the FE IV snes feel in gba modern format :)
the new skills for the enemies and chars is great like fe iv on snes.
I'm still playing through it, haven't beaten it to the end of the current patch, but I'm liking it so far, the music form fe iv snes to gba style to superb :)
looking forward to the next patch
Nice! That's a really interesting Azel, usually he ends up being high speed/low skill. Levin's also in the same boat... how did he get more magic than skill...So here is my final team. I have to note that Alec really fell off badly for me. He couldn't deal a lot of damage and was costantly getting hit, so I had to drop him.
Sigurd's bad. He only does one big chunk of damage and then dies if he doesn't have the Knight Sword. Parry is, like, the best skill.
Noish is pretty goddamn amazing. His skill is great and he kills everything either in one turn or by getting a critical hit. He also is durable enough where having him fight accurate opponents is a good idea.
Lex is god.
Azel's great too.
I'm honestly surprised Midale isn't shit for once. I really like his skill, it helps him keep up with Jamka.
Myrmidon.
I'm so glad that Miracle always works. Edain is really useful, especially with Aegis Ring and Renewal. Top tier skill combo.
I've always loved archers and Jamka is no exception. Bloodthirst is great to taking out the wounded.
He lagged behind a first, but Fin really shined through with Miracle, though he wasn't as capable as Noish.
Her strength is abysmal, but I enjoyed the idea of having effective weapons make up for her lacking in physical strength. I can't wait to promote her to Master Knight.
One thing that I feel you've done excellently is give everyone a unique reason to be used, especially mages and magic, since they tend to all have the same niche normally.
Fury is great, wouldn't change anything about her, except maybe a slightly better strength rate.
God, Arden. What you did with him REALLY made him great. The only issue I really had is that he falls behind everyone else with his bad movement, so eventually I replaced him. Excellent for holding up the rear and baiting bosses.
If you don't mind, can you get a screenshot of Alec too? I'm curious as to what kind of stats he has if he's falling off that badly.
-
Nice! Enemy density is definitely an issue that needs to be worked on, and having footage will help narrow issues down a lot. It looks like I might need to nerf Ethlin, Lachesis, Holyn and Fury but I'll have to wait until I implement a new experience formula to fix the level inflation issue. The team combo is also good for balancing, as the units you've benched are usually the ones that are staples in my own playtests.
-
The fight you get at the arena depends on who you send, but each character gets fixed fights, e.g. Sigurd always fights Holyn as the third arena fight. Right now there are only four characters that can get Kruge as the third arena fight, if anyone's curious.Wait, so I got Kruge instead of Holyn. How is that determind exactly?

I've been informed recently that MageKnight404 has an Let's Play of this hack, so I added a link to it under the Media section in the first post. It's been enjoyable to watch so far (I'm at the 4th video currently), so have a gander! I'm also giving some developer commentary in the comments of his videos as I watch the videos, if you're interested in some behind the scenes notes.
I think adjusting growths will be a last resort type of fix. I have a few ideas to test out first, with the current plan to help Sigurd and Cuan is to have supports shore up their low bases since I can have them give stat boosts. There are some other alternatives I'm considering as well, like changing to the classic FE4 system and just preserving levels across promotions (thus giving Sigurd/Cuan regular experience gains), although I'd need to tone them down a bit in that case.Hey Pi, I have been following this patch courtesy of the LP by Mageknight404, and I think it is pretty great! There is one question I have, though. In regards to the growths of Sigurd and Cuan, would it be unrealistic to keep them with the current bases but give them very superior growths, akin to the likes of Wolf/Sedgar from FE11 (or of course to a lesser extent, if those are too high)? I am currently unsure of how far units will get in promotion before Gen 1 is over, and I almost feel like with the slow EXP gain the two have that this may balance them quite well with the others by the end of Gen 1. Of course, I understand that this could mess with inheritance growth formulas and make their offspring too strong, but at the same time their children were quite powerful anyway, and at least the two have pre-set pairings so you cannot spread around the amazing growths outside 3 characters who are meant to grow well. Just a suggestion, and I am sure you will find some sort of great balancing mechanic regardless!
In any case I'm glad to see you care enough about the issue to post about it!
-
Go ahead!Would you like me to post my units for balancing?
Thanks for the feedback and bug reports! So here's my team:
Sigurd
Surprisingly bad, the main reason why I think he lost his shine is because he's a promoted class with very bad bases and growths, I wish he at least got tier 1 exp and 30 levels...
Noish
Still wondering how I haven't let him die yet, he's a glass cannon in every single way, so yeah, I like Noish... sorta... at least he's not as bad as his original self.
Arden
Pure beast. He saved my hide so many times, he's just so good, he took half of an army whilst I the rest of my army to take the other half, he's reliable, tanky, and pretty mobile for an armor knight.
Lex
Lex, the man who likes to flex, he also checks. (I dunno, I'm white, I suck at rapping) Raw power, also very tanky, also I think he got speed blessed, oh yeah, why does his defense growth suck?
Azel
He died, but he's a good unit nevertheless, very fast, strong, dodgy and reliable if you know how to use a mage properly.
Fin
I always liked Fin, he's my second favorite cav in the first gen. (the first being obviously Lex)
That Miracle skill is a true miracle, he's also dodgy, making it easy for him to stay on the front lines and taking a hit or two... or three... or four.
Ayra
I think my Ayra got strength blessed, 12 strength for a myrm is pretty awesome, also astra kicks ass... and for some reason she crits at low percentages, is that intentional? Is there a PC system that you coded in somehow?
Dew
VERY dodgy, making him a great dodge tank, he also levels up very fast, I like Dew, sol is a pretty useful skill as well.
Edain
Pretty standard healer, nothing special to say about her, she's always been like that to me.
Lachesis
Her death kinda hindered her level-ups, though she is still very solid, I can't wait to see her as a master knight.
Levin
Awesome, but not as amazing as he was in the original, there he was the hardest hitter, too bad wind magic is weaker compared to the others.
Sylvia
Swords dance either saves me, either it kills Sylvia and I have to start over, though I feel like she will be amazing with a magic sword, plus her decent magic and swords dance.
Fury
Didn't get too much action, but she's amazing for a pegasus knight.
Now for some stupid things that I found.
Weaponless Lex
The weird palette (the cross knights in Eltoshan's chapter have a weird palette, too, also, why no Earth Sword :( ?)
Thracia's secret weapon, the text bubble breaker.
That's not how the weapon triangle works, it's Wind>Thunder>Fire>Wind, I should be having a disadvantage)
Poor Black Fang citizens forced to fight for Shagall... speaking of Shagall...
The almighty and supreme King Shagall of Shagall.
- Sigurd definitely needs his buffs to stay competitive. I just need to add in the system I have planned for him...
- Looks like your Lex got an interesting stat spread. His defense growth is at the border between grey and white (35%) which is slightly worse than Arden.
- I think you're just getting lucky with crits with Ayra. She does have a good crit rate even with Iron Swords (yours should have 26 base crit) so against low luck units she should be good.
This video covers the Valkyrie staff, although don't expect it to have 5 uses in the release.Hm... how is the Valkyrie Staff going to work?
Wow, I've been looking forward to this for over a year. Fantastic work overall, one of (if not THE) best FE hack I've ever played. I love the skill system, the difficulty, the chapter designs, and the small improvements here and there (like the different colored stats for different growth %s). Some points to consider:
- Sigurd should be buffed. Maybe he shouldn't be as OP as he was in the original game, but he's flat-out terrible in this version. Can't double after the first couple chapters, takes forever to level up, and has low growths. Even in terms of story, it doesn't make sense for the "hero" Sigurd to be substantially weaker than half his army.
- The text is almost flawless in terms of faithfulness to the original, but I've noticed a few "sirs", "lords", and "kings" that weren't capitalized where they should be (e.g. "king Shagall").
- Is there a way to repair weapons? I've noticed that some broken weapons stay in the inventory with 0 uses, but I haven't figured out what to do with them.
- Dead characters' items seem to disappear into the abyss instead of returning to storage.
- The Holy Weapon diagram on the Skills screen seems to be the same for all characters regardless of holy blood.
- Sigurd will get a few buffs in the next "major" release where I add in a few missing features I didn't have time to balance, like supports.
- I have not been very thorough with the consistency of titles, so thanks for bringing that to my attention!
- Like the person who quoted you said, every shop will repair items for you. They're always at the end of the list after the items they sell.
- Once I start cleaning up the substitute parent system, the inventory will be sent to storage properly.
- Yeah, it's entirely a placeholder for now. I don't think it's a perfect setup yet so it'll probably change in the future.
The plans for the rest of the game is to release three more major patches; 0.2 will cover all the way to the end of the first generation, and a bit of the second generation so players can play around in it. 0.3 will probably cover about halfway through generation 2, and 0.4 will cover the remaining chapters (so it'll officially be 1.0.) Based on the current progress I would expect at least two years for each major release. 0.3 and 0.4 may take a bit longer because I have a lot of things to do to properly set it up.

Here's a 0.1.3 fix patch!
Here's the link for patching onto a fresh ROM.
Here's the link for patching onto a 0.1.2 ROM.
The patch includes a lot of changes:
Bugfixes:
- The bug with S-ranks becomes -- or E ranks has been fixed.
- Removed an arena unit that was causing a crash.
- Lachesis now has growths if you continue using her after she's died.
- Thrones no longer cure statuses so that Diadora can correctly use her Silence staff of Sandima without looking silly.
- You can now actually beat 3-3 by seizing the throne. Finally...
- A bunch of items have updated descriptions to be more precise:
- The Killing Edge now mentions that only infantry (unmounted units) can use it.
- Armourslayers and rapiers have their description changed since infantry has a new meaning.
- Poison weapons now correctly mention what poison does (it reduces stats instead of being lethal.)
- A bunch of text errors have been fixed (Sigurd is no longer Lycian, a certain village now shows the right visitor, etc.)
- Renewal now heals 15 HP per turn instead of 5 HP to give Edain a competitive edge with other healers. Hopefully it won't break her...
- Speaking of Edain, she's gotten a buff to her stats that will hopefully make her a better healer.
- Jamka has better skill overall so that he can actually land his shots.
- Lachesis starts with D Swords and D Staves instead of C/C. She doesn't need the C Swords since she has access to two good PRF weapons, and giving her a C rank in Staves makes her too good compared to Edain. If you've already recruited her, don't worry! She'll keep her ranks.
- A new skill has been added: Biorhythm. The unit with Biorhythm gets +5 to Strength, Magic, Skill or Speed depending on what turn it is. It starts with Strength and goes through those stats in that order. Eve gets this skill since I didn't do much balancing with her earlier and she's noticeably weak. Hopefully she gets good mileage out of it!
-
She must have died at some point, because that's the generic Princess growths (generic growths are used for units that have died.) I didn't give the Princess class any growths because there aren't any generic NPC princesses. If this is bothersome, I can get a new bugfix patch pushed tomorrow to give her nonzero growths!
-
I just downloaded the hack. I haven't played much so far, but I really like Azel's skill!
Great work.
I LOVE YOUR WORK!!! Please keep this up this rom hack is amazing keep up the good work!!!
Huge FE4 fan here, just started the game and I'm having loads of fun. Some of the unfinished spritework is understandable wonky, but those that I'm assuming are nearly or completely finished look pretty great. Lex in particular looks amazing, and he just happened to be one of my favorite units from Geneaology. Even if mine hasn't managed to proc his Speed growth once yet. Personally I like the more bite-sized versions of FE4's giant maps, and the maps here still feel pretty grand and like you're fighting a real war, which is one of the main draws of FE4 for me. Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to see the finished product. Once I finish what you have so far I'll probably drop in with my units and their stats, just wanna help out however I can.
Honestly has a really hard time getting into vanilla FE4, mainly because of the massive maps, which tired me out after 20 minutes. It's a story I've always wanted to get into, and I thank you for making this the way you did so that I don't have to continue punishing myself to get to enjoy this story.
Thanks for the kind comments! Feel free to post your thoughts as you play through the hack in this thread.
He starts with a Steel Lance (unless you're giving it away for some reason?) and one of the enemies in the prologue even drops an Iron Bow! (It's not like Midale wants an extra one, anyway...)Oh. It kinda sucks that he's almost basically locked to swords during the first parts of this hack.
-
Lex with double digit speed??? *shakes head*Hey man, thanks for making this hack, it is so awesome, I love it, really recreating FE4. Btw, Lex is a Beast, really, he can tank, 1 HKO and even double! http://imgur.com/8MAM54N
...Huh. That's an interesting emulator issue. Looks like I need to improve the hack's compatibility with emulators. What emulator is this?I'm kinda stuck here
Holyn/Briggid is definitely a guaranteed support! I actually haven't sat down and figured out who to support with Eve yet.I hope Holyn can support with Bridgid, but I'm interested in who Eve will support with. Oh and giving Azel the magic ring is like giving Julia the Narga tome. HE.IS.SO.AWESOME!
-
Nice! Thanks for the pictures, they'll be useful when I start rebalancing the units. If you have any thoughts about the chapters (likes/dislikes) feel free to post about it too!I've cleared what I am assuming is the final chapter, but nothing is happening; the boss has been defeated, yet the chapter hasn't ended. Is this intentional? I remember you saying in the original thread that said boss was going to be the final boss in the first release, so I just thought it would be best to ask in case my game isn't messing up
This has been a blast to play through! Here's an album featuring the units I used in the last chapter. I must say, Arden was absolutely amazing. Maybe a little too good? But I can't complain--someone needs to replace Sigurd the Weak as the Heir to Chalphy, and I have a soft spot for Knights
EDIT: Re-read page 2 and noticed my question had already been answered. My mistake
The problem with large maps in the original game is that you're not really playing on a large map, the game prevents you from visit large sections with NPCs. If I decide to add a large map, it'll be because I can make an interesting map using its size. I am however keeping the possibility of large maps in mind, it just needs a right mix of objectives to work. If you haven't played Chapter 3-3, yet it's an experiment with a large map. It's not as big as FE4's maps but it's pretty large and it plays a bit like FE6's Zephiel map: There's two points you want to visit before beating the boss.May I give you some small advice?May yu make some chapters like the original FE4----let the map very big,and players can seize three castles in one chapter.and I found some plot are skipped, like chapter 2.(about eltosian break down the enemy).I think these plot will make the story full. So,what about do not skip the other plots like this, please?thank you.
For the missing Eltoshan gaiden, I have plans for a gaiden chapter between 1-3 and 2-1, but I have a few ideas I am testing out before I decide on which one I want to use. All the ideas I have need a lot of playtesting so I didn't have time to add them in the first release.
Also, can I say that I like the redone stat formulas? I worry that the inflation might cause problems in the long run, but so far it's a solid system and does a lot to emphasize characters' Skill/Luck differences. I also appreciate that you took away the Avoid bonuses from healing terrain (except Gates IIRC).
[spoiler=For he record]Hit = 5*Skill + 2*Luck
Avoid = 2*Speed + 5*Luck - 5*(Speed - Attack Speed)
Crit = Skill
Dodge = 2*Luck
I'm not so certain about the Avoid formula because of how complicated it is, but I think these are correct.
That said, I'm at 2-2 and dreading fighting the two Thieves with 84 Avoid on the way to Shakespeare MacBeth.
Hit is actually just 5*Skill + Luck. Crit and Dodge are correct. As you've noticed, avoid is definitely different! I can say you have half of the formula figured out.
A fun little tidbit about the thieves in 2-2: Until very late (about a few weeks before the release), there were no thieves at the bottom left of the map where you start. I added them there to make sure players would realize they are very dodgy, because there's a fight later in the same chapter that can catch you off guard if you don't realize this.
That's actually intentional, the vulneraries are supposed to be decorative: it's the supplies they're delivering. I'll change them in a bugfix patch so it's clear they can't heal themselves. If you're having trouble keeping their HP up you can use heal staves, you have exactly 3 staff users you can deploy! Otherwise you should try moving ahead of the convoys and beating the enemies before they can attack, the convoys move very slowly (even compared to Arden!!!)The AI in Chapter 3-1 is borked. Even when near death, they refuse to use the tons of Vulneraries they have stocked up, making the chapter harder than it needs to be.
-
Yeah, the Killing Edge is only usable by foot units. I'll make a note to update its description in the next bugfix patch!
-
Levin isn't coded to come back. A few of the characters are like that: Cuan, Ethlin, Fin and Diadora. Eve, Sylvia and Fury also aren't coded to come back but they will in a future release. Sorry!
-
Dang, 20 strength! Someone's playing in the big leagues now!!Carrier has arrived.
Been having a lot of fun with this
No bugs yet, everything's been running smooth
Lex is pretty dang good.
Double dang!! That speed seems really above average if I remember Noish's growths right. So much for not being the dodgy cavalier, I guess.noish is the king
-
I'll look into that weapon rank bug. I'm surprised you managed to S-rank both of them! Looks like I forgot to add the seize event to 3-3. It's not too much of an issue right now since 3-3 is the last chapter available anyway, but I'll add it in the next bugfix.I found a little bug when recruiting Eve with Sigurd ; she'll be over him in the map after he talked to her, that's harmless but that's strange haha.
I really liked this patch ; it was really great. Sometimes there's a lot of enemies to kill and that's good!
Edit: Ok, I found a bug. Sigurd can no longer equip Swords after he attacked a pirate. (chapter 3-3) ; he was S rank.
Edit2: After one or two fights from my save ; he changes his S rank to None.
Edit3: Ok, same for Cuan, there's a rank after S and that's the "none" one.
Edit4: And the chapter 3-3 can't be finished.
Thanks for the offor but I'll be making all the portraits myself.
There are no promotions in the current patch.Hello everyone , first thank you for your job i greatly appreciate .
I have a question , is it possible to make promotion in this patch and how ?
You might have downloaded the old 0.1.2 patch which broke the Knight Sword. If you did, you'll need to patch the new 0.1.2 patch (it's called 0.1.2fix.ups) from the front page onto a clean ROM. Sorry for the troubles!Ardan for MVP
EDIT: For some reason Sigurd can't equip the Knight Sword

Here are the 0.1.2 bugfix patches!
If you want to patch from 0.1.1 to 0.1.2, use this patch.
If you want to patch onto a fresh ROM, use this patch.
The changes in 0.1.2 are:
- Arden no longer crashes the arena.
- Shagall has a proper death quote in 2-3.
- Sigurd no longer thinks that Fury is on his side before Levin recruits her (Translation: Sigurd is no longer able to talk to Fury before she's recruited.)
- Sigurd's Knight Sword is now properly locked to him. Sorry, people who found that out earlier!
- Lachesis does not display Charisma, a skill she has that doesn't work yet (because I haven't coded it in.)
- Various text fixes (typos, out of bounds text, etc.)
-
Yes, the original Pursuit skill is just primitive version of the doubling mechanic, so I just removed it from units, and Charge is similar enough to pursuit anyway.
On an unrelated note, I've been informed that Arden crashes the arena. I'll be uploading a 0.1.2 bugfix patch for that with some other minor fixes, in the meantime don't use Arden in the arena!

Good to hear!I was greatly overcome and could only thank them again and again. You are famous now,I think。
Supports are not currently available, so don't worry about it.Question: in 1.2, I see a lot of ppl with supports, but I can't access them. Do I just wait a while b4 trying or is this a bug?
Yes! I think you get +1 damage for every 1000G you get and the bonus maxes out around +8 or +10. I'll have to double check later. The Golden axe received at chapter 1-3, does it have any special abilities?
"Money is power"
Does it increase in power depending on our current funds?
Currently True Hit! (Maybe it'll change in the future...?)Is this 1RN? or True hit?
I haven't tried opening the hack in FEditor and take no responsibility for whatever happens if someone tries to do that. I will probably open up a discussion for names in future when I lay out some possible ways for other people to contribute.I mean you can always go and edit the names if you wanted to, but editing a heavily hacked ROM is probably pretty herculean for most of us
This is half true, certain units (Cuan, for example) won't come back if they die.Thankfully this hack is made for dummies like me who tend to lose units.
Permadeath doesn't seem to exist, because Alec died against the boss in the prologue (overlooked his skill which grants him attack boost) but was available in the next chapter.
Oops, I forgot to remove that for the release. Well, I guess it's a nice placeholder until I actually work on what's supposed to happen.I like how dead units turn into zombies, it's like a shame system, the more zombies you got, the worse you are at Fire Emblem! (or just incredibly unlucky)

Pedantry is appreciated. None of the tactician stuff has been added other than support for the name. I'll keep that in mind when I get around to it!

I re-downloaded the patch myself and applied to an unpatched ROM, and it works fine. If more people report issues I'll reupload it.

Two bugfix patches coming in piping hot!
If you've got a patched rom and you want to apply the fix, use this patch: http://www.mediafire.com/download/219oto16gon4zyo/feiv0.1-0.1.1.ups
If you want to patch on a clean rom, or haven't patched a rom yet, use this patch: http://www.mediafire.com/download/2jb2iapt02xdi5t/feiv0.1.1.ups
The first post will be updated with the latest patch as well. Note that you should restart if you had the ointment glitch occur to you, this patch will not restore your lost items.
Edit: Hot tips for Noish and dodging in general: Do not expect anything above 40% hit rate to be safe. Noish is not the dodge build cavalier (Hint: it's the one whose skill gives him avoid) and is actually fairly fragile.

When you say consumed, do you mean any time it's used, or when it ran out of uses?
Edit: I've reproduced the bug on my end. This is pretty gamebreaking so I'll push a bugfix patch out soon.

Canto for Midale on that village in Ch1-1 displays the pathfinding for the entire map. She can only move her normal movement, but moving the cursor beyond the customary 11 tiles crashes the game.
Edit: It's somehow broken the pathfinding display for all of my units now, and it's saved to the save file. Was fixed by restarting the chapter. Save with bug active - no$gba format.
Edit 2: Seems it can be triggered from the other village as well. Doesn't require Canto, just visiting one of the villages will trigger it.
Amazing.

Nice! I wonder how much time you spent to get a promoted Azel with 60 HP...
