Lol the way I read that you sounded so defeated when you said that. "most of the games i haven't played yet". I just never got to import all the non English ones so your lucky you get to play those old treasures. It might take you longer. I dunno why game companies think more mechanics means more fun but it doesn't. Especially half assed mechanics or features that barely have an affect. I felt like as the game series went on, they added such awfully thought out gimmicks to prolong game play or make the game harder than it had to be. I will say I like the older ones better than the newer ones. Xillia was the final one I could tolerate. Im shocked at how much I ended up disliking Zesteria and the one after that. It almost made want to quit the franchise. 

I had this weird passion for Radiant Mythology. I did multiple plays cause it was fun. But I also think it's best to play the others first. By the time you play Abyss and Symphonia you can play the first RM. Then you'd need to play a few more of the Tales games before you play RM2 since they add more characters further down the timeline in which the games were released. RM3 stops adding characters after the 2010 games so you won't see like Xillia people in it and so forth. i don't remember if Grace or Innocence was in there. But yeah. That spin didn't keep up.

I'm glad to hear you liked it. I also gush over how much I love that title. I think either Regal or Presea were my favorites. I like how Regal sorta played like Sennel with martial arts but I felt Presea had better damage and was overall more fun to play with. I like Colette's personality and resolve and a bit of her character growth but I didn't like how she was the default love interest or how that romance was depicted. It felt sloppy and I think Sheena was more like deserving of having a relationship with Lloyd. I'd even place Presea higher than Colette. 

Well, I was feeling pretty defeated when I wrote that part : P lol. I guess I was just sad about it becasue us not playing the same games mean we would have less to talk about and such. But oh well, I'm actually almost done with Rebirth, and after a break, I should start Legendia! After the emotional ride that was rebirth, I really do need a break though lol V_V I really hope one day it will get an English port so more people could experience it.

I'm sorry to hear about that :/ I'm not sure how bad it got as I haven't played those games yet, but I can tell you that even the old games add and remove mechanics all the time. Like for example, Phantasia and Symphoina  are very different if you were to compare them from a game-play point of view. Even Rebirth, which came after Symphonia, would also seem very different if it were to get compared to Symphonia. I find it hard to get used to Rebirth's play style, but I also think the language barrier might be playing it's part here.

Oh I see, will keep that in mind <3 shame to hear the series didn't continue though. I might try to pick the first game up and see if I like it or not, but I also don't want to become an old lady by the time I get to finally play Tales of Arise...ugh, I wish time would just stop when I'm playing games haha.

Oh those two! I liked their connection to each other. Regal is so mature and kind, although his design did threw me off at first, but I've gotten used to it. Oh, and Persea is adorable, I ship her with Genis. I wish we've gotten to see those two interact more. Oh and I see, well, the funny thing is when I first played the game, I didn't even know you could get Lloyd to bond with different characters funny enough? So I ended up having him bond with Colette the most as I thought it was either that or nothing. I am a bit of a sucker for childhood couples, so I do think I prefer them together, but I can see why you would think Lloyld and Sheena would be good together. Honestly, the only person that WON'T be good with Lloyld is Raine...I hate the fact those two could develop romantic feelings for each other? I wish they've just let those two become close friends instead or something. Raine would suit someone like Regal much better, and I actually liked how in the sequel they lied and said they were lovers or something haha.

Well i'm not sure if i'll ever master the japanese language enough to be able to play those older titles plus not to mention i'd have to track down the game consoles and the games themselves to be able to play them. Maybe at a later date using like discord or skype we can talk about the older ones? I'd love to hear about them since i'll never get a chance to play them. Oh and I gotta say, the feels get so much more deep and impact you on another level when you get further in. Like i remember Graces F made me cry. They can get pretty emotional. 

Yeah the spin off may have died already but they are still pretty good titles. They played with the idea/concept of a customizeable avatar and i think they pulled it off pretty well. If only they didn't make a mute MC. I dislike some of the games that insist on making a mute person. It never makes sense. Like Dragon Age games did a great job with a fully voice customize-able avatar and heck even the later Fable games did pretty great too back on the xBox. But like LoZ, Mario, and FE, nintendo's avatars are always silent and bland. Robin was sorta the exception but i disliked Corrin. 

I like childhood romances too but i think this one was done bad. Like compared to how they executed it in Tales of Graces they made Colette too selfless? I think that is the word i'm looking for. Like i didn't like that she wanted to die for the people without telling Lloyd the truth or how she really felt. If only she would have trusted him just a little more. Yeah Raine was a bad romance-able option. 

OH!!!! Have you considered watching the animes?! You can think of them as promotional material or previews to further game experience. I liked how they executed the animes. Have you seen them yet? I just saw the Tales of the Abyss one with a few friends back when that one screen sharing site Rabbit was still up. It captured the good stuff from the game.
