  1. Finally decided to pick this up and start playing through it, loving it so far. Unfortunately, I'm coming across some glitches in Rath's Tale. -Every time I try to replay this tale alone, Toni seems to have the same items as she did in my first play through it, low amount of usage on all her items -I'm unable to find any chest keys, the only one from the shaman is not obtainable, no green text. From other pics I saw, that's how I'm suppose to get the first one and then it'll lead to me getting more so I can unlock all the chests to complete the Trororo achievement. Right now, I physically can't complete it lol
  2. Yeah Agro has given me a lot of input when it comes down to music hacking. This is definitely a superior method in my opinion. Speaking of which I wouldn't mind helping out with this project in terms of its music. I've enjoyed the beta and I love the direction the story is going in. EDIT: In terms of bugs and whatnot, I did notice the game crashes as soon as I try to move in the netherworld. And for whatever reason Feltyn isn't on the unit list during the prelude. You can use him but when I scroll through the unit list he isn't there for some odd reason.
  3. Yeah I could definitely look into dropbox. Anyway, it was giving me problems even when it was left as a timpani, that change was made a bit later since I found out that the timpani could barely be heard. It also gave me only midi 0 as an export option, but that was never a problem before either. I went ahead and repaired the song and now the .s file appears! I think there might of been a few notes here and there that got deleted but I don't think they interfere with the song overall. Thanks for the help :)
  4. Alright here you go! Had to create a mediafire account for this so hopefully it helps. It wouldn't allow me to upload any midi files on here for whatever reason :(
  5. Oh boy, this software can be REALLY frustrating to deal with. Anyway, I've been trying to make some progress with inserting another song. I had to edit it in anvil studio simply because there were 2 awkward measures of rests before the songs kicked in. So I went ahead and removed those, added the loop, etc. with no issues. The issue comes with inserting the software into mid2agb. I would insert the original file with the awkward rests into mid2agb and I'd get a normal .s file that I could use for sappy. But after I edit and export the new file, it doesn't create a .s file at all. This is the first time it's ever happen and it throws me off. Anyone know what could be the problem and what are the possible solutions?
  6. Ah that solved the tempo issue, no problems there. However, Road of Trials is still messy. I'm not too concerned about it right now since I'll eventually replace that theme too, hopefully that won't interfere with anything else in the future.
  7. Huh, good call on the tempo command. For some strange reason there is no tempo. By writing the song, do you mean on Sappy? In that case yes, I assembled the song by overwriting where "A Hint of Things to Come" was on Sappy(I believe it's 37).
  8. So I encountered this weird thing when inserting songs via Sappy. After I organized the song, truncate all the tracks, deleted any extra notes due to limitation, exporting, etc. I went ahead and assembled one of the songs. I took out "A Hint of Things to Come" for a different world map theme and for some strange reason, the song was sped up. Additionally, the song next to it in the sound room, "Road of Trials" also speeds up now. Is there a reason this problem was caused? What can I do to fix it?
  9. Yeah I did come across a video here where a japanese hacker actually stored up to 188 songs in the sound room. Problem is I'm still a noob to hacking and I'm having a hard time figuring out how to expand the list.
  10. So I've been trying to look at all the tutorials and searching around for answers but I haven't been successful so far. I've noticed the music list has some slots that say "nothing" and have no data on them. I thought this would be a good opportunity to add more songs to the sound room. Is there any way I can do that?
  11. Alright thanks for the direct .exe link. It gave proof that Norton did remove it because they labeled it as "WS.Reputation.1" which literally means "We don't have enough info on this, therefore we don't like it." So I went ahead and quarantined the file so this should hopefully prevent any further issues.
  12. So I've downloaded both the nightmare program folders from FEShrine and they seem to include everything but the nightmare program itself. At this moment, I thought it was possible Norton removed it as it could believe it's a threat but then I realized there was not any sort of pop-up like there usually is for any "sketchy" file. I even tried to put the nightmare names into the auto-protect section which should of prevented them from being deleted(if it was). I redownloaded and reextracted the file numerous times, still no nightmare.exe. No new results and I'm completely confused on what to do next to solve this issue. Is there any potential methods that I could be missing?
  13. All instruments, downloaded it from Blazer. Now that I think about it, I think the track may of had more than 7 which was mentioned in the tutorial. That may of contributed to the problem lol. I'm just going to make a new rom copy and start from scratch(the music is the only process I've made so far so it's not like I'm losing anything big.) EDIT: Alright, been testing out a different, more suited song. Still coming across an issue where a few certain instruments won't play or rarely will play during the song. So I went ahead and turned all the direct sounds all the way up and now the issue is resolved. Thanks for all the help Agro! It works perfectly when I turn it up all the way to 28 on Sappy but then there's issues with some of the instruments playing when I play it on the ROM. That and it doesn't loop. I hate to keep asking for help but...help? XD
  14. PRAISE THE FREAKING LORD! IT'S DONE! That actually did the trick. Thank you so much!!! After playing it though, the midi sounds a bit different compared to what I imagined. Is this normal? EDIT: Just listened to it on the rom itself. I think it's missing an instrument or two. The opening cutscene is now twice as fast for some reason. I replaced track 90 btw(the title theme) for this test. Is there a way to figure out which number goes to which track?
  15. Ok....I really don't know how to do this :S I'm setting associations right now. Should I just set it to sappy? I also don't know how to get rid of notepad as an associated option. I know how to make one a default program but not get rid of the other options.
  16. Nope not at all! The thing is I don't think it was associated with anything else. If I'm suppose to de-associate it with notepad I don't know how I could fix the max volume step.
  17. Ok so associate the .s file with sappy? I did make originally have it so .s files would be opened up with notepad(so I can edit the max volume.) Let me see if changing that will fix the problem. EDIT: Nope :/ I'm sorry I bring in a complicated issue here. If you'd like, I can take a screenshot of what I have and point out all the important stuff.
  18. All good, that makes sense. Both mini2agb and sappy came as separate folders originally. I just went ahead and threw everything together in one folder. Unfortunately, I'm still getting the same problem.
  19. My bad, typing error. It was asking for MPlayDef.s. I put it in the mid2agb folder and in the sappy folder, still no difference. I tried your download and replaced it, same error message. Also, regarding your tutorial, how can you differ between the song numbers? Is there a list that mentions which song number is which?
  20. Thank you for posting that other guide, it looks less complicated compared to the ELF method. However, I ran into another problem. So I tried out Sappy 2005 that came in the same folder as mini2agb. It gives me an error code that a few files were missing. At this point, I don't think it has anything to do with the files norton removed because those were in the mini2agb folder. Plus, the names weren't identical. I took another look at your tutorial and noticed you were using Sappy 2006. I went ahead and downloaded it thinking it would work. Nope, same error message here. Also, I can't upload the midi file on here if you wanted to take a look at it. I won't allow me to attach it on here :( Any idea what kind of files I'm missing here? EDIT: Nevermind, I fixed a lot of these issues regarding the errors. I'm almost done assembling the song but the next problem is that is says I'm missing "MPlaDef.s." I've moved it from the mini2agb folder, gotten another copy to replace it, and yet it still doesn't register that I have the file. I hate to keep asking questions but is there anything else I could do?
  21. Yeah I definitely started looking into ZSE hoping it's a better alternative. I also downloaded python like blazer's tutorial mentioned but every time I try to open a .py file, it immediately closes not giving me a second to read what it says.
  22. I've briefly disabled the firewall and put norton on silent mode, still no changes made. There were no files removed as far as I'm concerned but I'm still getting the same message. I even press "retry" to fix whatever debug issue this is and mini2gba just crashes. Not only that, song.gba doesn't play anything when VBA is up and hxd only has "00000000" as an offset, nothing else being shown. Is there anything else I can do to try insert the midi?
  23. I tried playing the song.gba files, probably should of mentioned that lol. However, no sound played when I pushed the "A" button. I decided to delete and redownload Sappy and I think I may of came across another problem. My norton antivirus detected a few files that were "dangerous" and immediately removed them. I've been downloading the Sappy/mini2gba folder from FEShrine. I'm sure it's safe, but would I have to briefly disable my antivirus in order to properly download this?
  24. So very recently I've been looking into the process of music hacking as I've considered inserting my own music into hacks one of these days. As I've been following the ELF Method, I've stumbled upon a problem. Every time I try to use the "tr" application with a midi file, it comes up as an error. The tutorial points out that there's two boxes in which the midi file will show up. If it's in the left box, the conversion was a success, if it's in the right, it failed. However, regardless of which side it gets put on, I get this error that pops up. I've truncated and repaired as much as I could with the midi and it still failed. So I went through the same process with about 3 other midis, truncated and repaired, still came across the same issue. It kinda confuses me that most of the time I've checked these midis, they would show up on the left side indicating it's a "success." Am I doing something wrong or have I just been unlucky?
  25. 1. I just have a folder with a bunch of instruments in it. I do believe around the 100's though you start importing more sound effects than actual instruments so I stopped after that. 2. Well thank you, I may look into that.
