Newbie (1/14)

  1. "You see that's the problem. You can try too hard to befriend someone, and then it just feels forced. It takes a fine touch. Becoming friends is a two way street and they have to be convinced to consider you a friend as well," Cherish said, as she continued to ear her breakfast. It's true. Infiltration 101. People are more willing to accept you as part of their group if it feels natural, like they came to the decision themselves.
  2. Well, fancy that. It was someone else that had trouble socializing with other people. If only she knew the irony of saying that to Cherish, someone who was about to assume an entirely new identity just because that made befriending others easier to her. Maybe befriending this girl in her alter ego would help get her a bit more in to the group since she's trying to make friends already. "It's fine. Interacting with others is as much a skill as it is anything else. I'm certain you will get better at it if you keep trying." I just simply see no need in doing so unless I have to. It's just more trouble than it's worth. Still, orders are orders.
  3. The girl that had decided to talk to Cherish got in to some exchange with someone about the clarification of what their job was. That was nice to hear given the circumstances. It would allow herself to seem a bit more in the know when she made her reappearance. This whole thing was just becoming a bit confusing, but she made sure it was what she was told to do so she was going to do it. It also gave her a bit of time to figure out how to reply. Given that she wasn't in a disguise her normal name would suffice, even if she was padding her personality a bit. "Call me Cherish." She took a sip of the drink she'd grab with her plate of food, better than getting into an argument over container ownership again. "And I don't believe that you've given your name," she said to Robin.
  4. It appeared that someone was trying to talk to Cherish while she ate. Just what she needed before she assumed her new identity: Someone trying to talk to her. Still, it would pass the time while she at and even if she couldn't assume her new identity yet that didn't mean she had to be herself. "I've seen better," She said calmly as she continued to eat her breakfast.
  5. Cherish continued to eat her breakfast off to the side in silence. If things were ready for her new persona she'd probably use this time to integrate into the group, but good work took time if she was going to make a disguise like that work. It would probably be a good idea to pass along the word of what exactly was going on with that to some of the higher ups if she got a chance, in case Anna hadn't gotten around to it. It would be better than leaving the people she was working for in the dark and having that blow up in her face... or get in the way of her getting paid for it.
  6. Cherish made her way into the dining hall a bit later then most everyone else. She had ducked out a little early to get some stuff that took time done in case the group she was assigned to had to leave quickly. She'd been working around her long enough to know that sometimes speed was the key. Grabbing some food she made her way to a table away from everyone else, noting that Weyland himself was in the room and talking to them about some things. No matter, if it mattered to what she was assigned to do she'd find out later. After all the one who would be going with them didn't exist yet in order to hear it now.
  7. Cherish finally made her way down to the dining room, intentionally avoiding people. There was no need to try and get to know anyone else here since she was about to have to do that as someone else anyway. Grabbing a plate and filling it up with food she sat down at an out-of-the-way table to eat, alone.
  8. Cherish retreated in to one of the changing rooms, making sure the door was locked behind her. It was time to get to work. As much as she really did enjoy the opportunity to "borrow" so much clothing, she knew that she had a job she was getting paid to do and she had to do it right. It was a strange sense of work ethic she built up over the years. You did things the right way and you got what you were planning to get. It was a necessity back when doing things wrong meant you didn't get to eat, but it was a lesson she kept with her even as times and her lifestyle changed. She was getting paid to disguise herself, even if it was to more easily integrate herself into a group her employer was already friendly with. A job was a job and she was going to do it to the best of her ability. While the disguise was in part to make a more friendly personality change, the reason behind it's necessity wasn't even on her mind. Cherish, in how she normally was, didn't care about making friends with anyone so she just never integrated with the group. She was better at pretending to be friends with someone else then actually befriending them. Once she was done trying on the various bits of clothing she stored what she wanted deep in her cloak, some of it need a bit of alteration to fit just right, and found a place to return the rest, still a bit of a strange concept but it would probably still be there for her when she came back. She didn't need to keep a hold on everything, and that was enough of a relief to help offset her want to just have things. Next it was on to the dining hall to get something to eat. It would be a bit of a day tomorrow getting the rest of her new identity together.
  9. Cherish watched Anna walk away and then she looked to the maid. "I'm gonna go try these clothes on and then go get something to eat. You can, umm, go back to doing whatever you do." She said, shrugging before walking back into the clothing room and heading towards one of the dressing rooms in the back. It was time to try on some clothes.
  10. "Well, I haven't tried on these clothes yet..." Cherish said, looking down at the pile of clothing. "But I guess I do have time to later since I don't have the hair dye yet..."
  11. Cherish gave a small smirk at Anna's reaction. "Things like this is why I made sure of what you were asking me to do." Giving a bit of a shrug she continued. "I need the things to do what I've been told to do well."
  12. Cherish pursed her lips at that comment. "Then it may be better for me to just go in to town tomorrow to get what I need. Odds are I'll need to have a good stock of it just in case. I have no idea how long I'm going to need it so having some extra isn't a bad idea..." She had made her way to the front now, carrying a lot of green clothes to try on in a pile but wanting to finish this conversation before ducking to a changing room. "...And just so we're clear I've been asked to do this so it would be a Business Expense, right?"
  13. Cherish made her way a bit closer to the entrance of the room as the convenient maid appeared. "Blue? I was thinking something more in the Green range. It would go a bit better with the theme I'm thinking of."
  14. Cherish's head popped up from over behind one of the rows of clothing. "Oh, Anna! Do you know where I can find any hair dye? I think it's a good idea to change my hair color for this."
  15. Cherish's eyes widened in excitement, but in an entirely different way when she was displaying the persona she was about to adopt. For someone with such ingrained longing to obtain things, the sheer amount of things laid before her that she could take was as good as gold to her. Without saying anything, she slipped into the room and started to weave through the rows of outfits as she started to grab things, mostly that might work for her new persona's outfit, but there were a few things she wanted to look at.
