    After the chapter was over I did a quick run through the ruins with a Fado solo and Tethys once at level 3, so she could get this chest. Now Fado has S-Light and crits even more often. Guess who will be fighting the Demon King?

    Welcome back to the hardest chapter of my LIFE. I spent three hours on this chapter and took 100+ images. Somehow, this did not become a two parter.

    So we start off the chapter with these two new units aaaaaand theysuckabagofdicks. So, I went into the CUE editors and autoleveled them both to level 10. The result was:

    Better. At least mildly usable. I suppose it's kind of cheating, I just didn't want to deal with shitty units from here on out, so I'll likely be autoleveling newbies to a reasonable spot.

    As for the units, yay an Eirika lord to use that prologue rapier, finally! Aaaaand anothergoddamnknight. Not impressed/10.

    And here we can see DA KREW! Ismaire is pretty much dead weight at this point, so I ditch her. Syrene is more useful because of that dragonstone.

    Now, at the beginning of the game, I rated THE BOULDER the same as Ewan, 2/10. Clearly though, that is not the case. In a game where almost all of my units are 40 HP or less this late in, he's a god send. He tanks magic attacks, his DEF is good, and he has a fuckton of HP. He makes for a great wall, even against all the enemies that double him. His offense is OK too because he can hit RES and 13 MAG isn't as terrible as expected. He also has pretty OK staff utility thanks to capped resistance, and finally, he's a goddamn summoner in a game where a weak distraction every turn is a GODSEND.

    Thus, I am revising his rating to 7/10!

    1. It's hilarious that the sleep staff units have only 5 resistance.

    2. What's not hilarious is they manage to put one of my units to sleep later on... with a 12~% hitrate.

    If I had the power of foresight, I'd have entered this chapter with as many horse and armor slaying weapons as possible, but especially horseslayers. These cavaliers were complete cocksuckers.

    Vanessa can break her way out of hyere, but that mage will utterly shred her, even when autoleveled. I bet her growths SUCK because 10 autolevels barely raised her stats at all.

    CAPTAIN PHANTOM'S damage bites, but at this point I use him more for a reliable dodge bot and a distraction since enemies still primarily target him. I can't imagine playing this game now without CAPTAIN PHANTOM. It just wouldn't be the same.

    The poll was almost unanimously in favor of giving Tethys the robe, however...

    1. Tethys has HP growth, Seth does not

    2. Tethys has 20 DEF/RES. She also has a ton of AVO. She doesn't need more HP.

    3. Since he can't gain HP and also has lower than preferred RES, Seth needs the HP.

    Komments: First off, wow what balanced growths! Second, how the fuck did a 5 RES priest manage to put you to sleep? I call HAX! Anyway, pretty OK stats, give her a decent weapon and a bit of grinding and she'll turn out pretty competent! That HP is still pretty bad though :B

  4. Co-commentary only works if you've already soloed the game once, and either got stuck or it was so dull you bring in a second voice to liven it up. Starting solo is always preferred. By me at least.

    I also felt the Morph's Last Stand, while not a great submission, was more entertaining to watch once I brought Seph1212/FrenchFroodle in. Him and I seemed to be on similar wavelengths when we co-commentated.

    in Ragefest 3, we got Bullet Hell Madness, which was uploaded as a co-commentary after complaints that the non-blind run wasn't as enjoyable as the blind co-commentary. In fact... I believe it was you Klok who said the co-commentary was better. That's not to say you're not allowed to change your mind, but uh... yeah, that was a thing.

    And pretty much this. You did solo first, it sucked, then you did a co-commentary and it was better.

    There's also a decided difference between Ephraim225 who does commentaries on his own (Not to mention Trent), and other random people who are too nervous to be interesting.

    No offense to boring people. >_<

  5. There's also a big level of awkwardness between Marc, a seasoned LPer, and random hack creator 101, who has likely never done a commentary. You can also feel tension in the air, like something funny comes up on screen and Marc almost forces a laugh because the creator is listening, and what could have been a genuinely humorous moment is killed and sounds fake. It's even worse when something isn't funny at all and a laugh is still forced.

    This isn't even Marc or the creator's fault, this is just social dynamics in play. It's like when your friend Larry shows you that funny cat video from 2009 you've seen a dozen times and he smiles at you expectantly. Get it? It's a kitty doing something funny! You have to laugh now or you're an asshole.

    Finally, I'm not saying illuminati or anything, but no creator who had a co-commentary ever won a ragefest.

  6. I always prefer normal recordings. Playing the hacks with the creator present kills the suspense, as they always tend to ruin any surprises long before they pop up. The back and forth talking also kills any actual interesting commentary.

    That's just me though?
