  1. I’ve always personally thought Fates/Echoes Hybrid 2-RN system above 50 hit was a very good compromise for balancing low hit rates on enemies stopping you from becoming dodgtanking gods (unless you’re Ryoma) but still giving the player a bit more of a nudge for keeping units alive in a game with Perma death that relies on countless rounds of combats. Especially games that are player phase the difference between missing a single hit is a lot more costly
  2. I agree on her generally being someone who works better in-concept than in practice overall. Honestly I feel this way for most of 3H overall sadly, and what I care about in stuff is execution primarily.
  3. Why are people even trying to discuss Valla? It's a literal unfinished mess of a story. They didn't even have time to give Anankos a character and had to shoehorn it into the other DLC which i actually quite like despite all odds
  4. As a mod who is worse? Fates fans or Fates bashers? I like to think I bash Fates as much as a praise it overall.
  5. If you can emulate it go for it, but it’s not worth spending money. Fates at it’s core is just a lot of fun for gimmicky sets and you could get away with doing stuff like that. My highlight of playing Rev was probably doing some CQ Paralogues I hadn’t done before. Also if you care about Fates characters at all Rev exclusive supports are generally pretty good too
  6. Hey it could be worse, it could be a Tellius Bridge map!
  7. I personally found 23/24 in Binding Blade to be absolute slogs to play and as a rewards for getting to continue the story they’re not really that good. I think the reason why 24 bothers me is because I feel so torn about it, it’s basically the game rewarding you for being a hoarder using all of your divine weapon uses on a map that just lasts way too long. I mean conceptually it’s neat to be a final gauntlet but in practice just kill me getting Roy to sit on all those thrones.
  8. At first I assumed they weren’t that bad, but ugh I was wrong. Chapter 7/8 are actually fine enough but it’s downhill from there Chapter 9 is FUGAS WILD RIDE AGAIN but with less fliers and more bad units with less movement. Chapter 10 is the infamous snow shoveling one. 11 is like chapter 10 in BR but worse because you start in the middle. The maps pick up a bit after that being inoffensive at worst bar chapter 15 making you 180 halfway though to recruit a comically underleveled Nyx. Also ironically this is the most bland version of the rainbow sage. Then you reach a non-saveable-inbetween two chapter thing and the game is very downhill from here once you actually get to Valla. Unit balancing only adds insult to injury where you see Odin joining like 8 chapters later than CQ having very similar stats in Rev.
  9. I mean they weren’t scared to change Echoes overall and I say it was to Celica’s detriment overall. Not to mention Berkut was a failure of a villain and without his VA would be seen as Iago tier villain losing and accomplishing nothing at every turn.
  10. Why though? He didn’t have any ties to Bern at that point, and basically committed treason already within convincing Zeiss.
  11. Oh and that would actually fit considering the split with Wallace being locked to one map and Geitz being stuck to another.
  12. You know whose stupidity is understated? Gale from FE6, who is completely fine with his pupil joining the enemy (actively encouraging it) and still fights for Bern despite having no actual ties to his country. Although his best defense was that he was likely an actual recruitable characters at one point because he’s incredibly noteable compared to other trial map units with custom growths and affinities iirc Hell that would probably make the reasoning behind 21x’s Gaiden requirement for Milady and Zeiss more understandable if it was Gale knew what they were doing to the apocalypse tome
  13. It should definitely be a guy, and just not about flirting. I know Kent got a good support with Wallace, so it might be repitive in theory but it would be interesting to see how Sain is contrasted to how Kent is in that’s Support.
  14. I mean to defend Xander that at the very end of CQ that he literally convinced everyone to turn on Goo-ran in the name of their father. Even when he turns against Garon, it’s in memory of his Father. >Xander: It is you who know nothing! Of my father, of me, or of my brother/sister here. All this time, I have strived to be a good son and a worthy heir. I have faithfully followed your orders, even when doing so tortured my soul. I brushed aside my early memories of Father and accepted you as our king. I fought in your name, hoping one day you would reawaken as the man you once were. But that man is dead and has been for a long time now... >Xander: It is time to end your reign of terror. Camilla, Leo, Elise! Do not stay idly by while Corrin battles for his/her life and yours. If you are truly Nohrian royals, then stand up and fight! Fight for our kingdom and for our world... Fight for each other...and for our father. In his memory, let us defeat the beast who destroyed him! Not trying to imply the scene of Xander threatening Corrin (or Fates in general) was written well but Xander’s unending loyalty to his father is why he’s basically a Camus in Birthright. Also side hot take, Camuses are generally shit and the best one didn’t even die and went on to join the person that supposedly killed him aka Camus.
  15. It's honestly crazy in general how much unique dialog they made for the Kanas and all their countless Parent Child conversations. Izana's is something special though Edit: Also if you're counting Rev pairings, check out Odin and Kagero they're sweet together. Also in the unreleased Parent Child DLC convo between Ophelia and Kagero Ophelia has a vision of her grandmother for a painting and she literally describes saying she was similar to Last Elise I find that so hilarious that there is at least one spot in all of Fates that says they do look similar. Makes the Fruedain Fun of Elise!Ophelia's existence even more fun.
  16. I mean the other point is true to an extent but I just wanted to point out how growths in CQ children directly correlate to Bases because autoleveling is factored in. I’ll address the clas line issue now though. You’re right, Effie does pass a subpar classline overall but Effie works great when that child doesn’t care about Class inheritance much like Percy Sophie and Siegbert (imagine not making Charlotte!Siegbert though) because they’re likely already have access to/are in their endgame classes. Part of the reason why Percy is general is so baller is that he starts in the best classline. I guess you could desibe Effie as a filler mom but I think he growths and +2 Def is solid enough inheritance over say... Selena for most people. Although something that would be cool is a Selena!Sophie who would have Pegasus Knight access and lance rank in CQ which would be cool.
  17. That’s the thing, when you take auto-levels from children into consideration you get tangible proof of a growth actually mattering in Fates. Because those are literal stat averages
  18. I mean that's basically only Ophelia [and Forrest], and even then there's merit to turn Ophelia into a Malig Knight with inherit tome rank and auto levels as a dark mage. Edit: Camilla also doesn't nuke speed like Beruka does when considering just trying to get Malig Knight.
  19. Actually Berserker Effie sounds fun, next time I play CQ I might give that a shot. I'm guessing she gets that from Arthur S support?
  20. Not sure if you’ve been unlucky or something hit Effie’s growths are pretty bonkers. 50% personal growth for speed which any child appreciates. +2 Def is solid inheritance for any child too, but Knight isn’t the best class to pass down.
