Considering the giant mess which was - in my opinion - Fates, I didn't really have any high hopes for Three Houses when it was first announced. That aside, I got my copy yesterday and I have been really pleased so far! I find the game as a huge breath of fresh air, mainly in terms of gameplay style such as being able to roam around the monastery and such. Too bad you can't pet the cats. Regarding battles, as someone who plays on Normal Casual mode, I find them a little difficult or maybe I'm not using my brain enough. I also enjoy the battle animations and how smooth they are. I miss being able to pair up units though. I really enjoy how the game is fully voice acted, though admittedly the voices took a while to get used to. I don't really play Japanese RPGs anymore and I found the voice acting to be a tad cheesy at times, but I've warmed up to it. Divine Pulse is absolutely a blessing despite it being limited. I tend to make a little oopsie here and there, but being able to use the power of Divine Pulse has been truly useful. In the monastery I really enjoy the little activities you can do such as the advisor one and fishing, and I absolutely adore tea time! As for the cast, I really didn't care for much of the students at first, but now I have several students who I seem to like. I'm really pleased with this game.
