Ellobatch

I’m roughly 20 hours into the game and sometimes I pick up cool weapons on the battlefield, this is going to sound stupid but I literally can’t figure out how to give those weapons to my student. The only thing I’ve found is in battle have the student of your choice go next to your protagonist and then go into the convoy. Is there an easier way to do this?
