  1. Still unsure which path I'll do (currently on chapter 7) but thinking about doing CF as Flayn sucks right now (changed my mind and am making her a dark flier if I invest in her) and doesn't even have D reason Other changes I've made are Hapi is also going War Cleric (didn't know she gets Physic which really helps for her healing and helps make use of her crest) and Caspar is going Wyvern Lord I'm thinking of changing her to being dancer so she can still use magic and swords but be able to do both earlier without either not using magic or not abusing swords as a magic class. Overall, the beginning is hell, I'll say that outright. My 3 axe users can't hit a lot, Byleth is an MVP but still can't take a lot to be killed, Edelgard can't do anything (she didn't get any spells until chapter 3 in which she could do about 5 damage, she's better after getting magic +2 and a stat booster), and the 4 DLC characters are decent but not great. After I'd say chapter 5 though, it's a lot easier and holy MOLY Bernadetta's a champ. Defence +2 helps her tank and I gave her the strength boosters for more damage in which at anything less than full HP she can easily out-damage Byleth (who was about 5 levels higher than her) and could tank quite a bit, although had to hold her back a lot so she didn't die
  2. Don't know what that means but alright (also monsters can promote with promotion items) I mean fair enough, I'll do that didn't even think of that for some reason lol OMG YES yeah 5x while play-testing was a nightmare. For the most part I stayed on the left while killing all the enemies there, then freeing Ephraim (while using up all the sleep staves), then quickly killed the archer on the very right, killed the bishop, and I don't remember why but I bomb-rushed with one of the paladins (don't remember which), somehow managed to live, and beat the chapter. Hope that at least helps
  3. some things really quick... Do the paralouges. I can't stress that enough. It will make your life so much easier (or at least easier as maddening goes) If you're not doing recruitless, then some valuable units to get (in my opinion at least) would be Bernadetta (she can do wicked damage with her personal skill and Vengence, if you get her to C+ in lances and have low-ish health (defence pair up will be super useful if you want to do that)), Felix (he does pretty good damage and his crest activates way too often imo (not complaining)), Ingrid (she made a very great dodge tank in my maddening playthrough, having enemy hit rates be >10 is amazing), and Mercedes (she makes a fantastic healer, which can allow Marianne to be a dancer without losing a primary healer (Linhardt would also be a good option if you want The Exhaustable (Bernadetta's bow) and still have a great healer)). Farming and Fishing. I find that weapons break often in maddening (most likely because I use a lot of combat arts to kill things) and fishing can provide the gold to afford all those weapons while farming can provide you with stat boosting items so you don't have to try as hard to kill things in one round. That's all the advice I can think of right now, and good luck
  4. after a bit of research and reading through what you guys said, I have a team set up for either CF or SS. Byleth (male) - War Master Edelgard - Valkyrie Hubert - Paladin Ferdinand - Great Knight or Fortress Knight Bernadetta - Falcon Knight Caspar - War Monk Petra - Wyvern Lord Dorothea - Mortal Savant Linhardt - Warlock Yuri - Sniper Balthus - Mortal Savant Hapi - Wyvern Lord (most likely giving Bolt Axe) Constance - War Cleric Flayn - Falcon Knight If you guys have different ideas or new ideas or something then you can send them. I am trying to set up a team for either Blue Lions or Golden Deer next (also this will all be on maddening because I want it to be a challenge)
  5. If you have the dlc, then I'd rid of Gremory and do Monk > Mage > Valkyrie as it will put them on a mount and give boosts to their dark magic. Otherwise I'd bridge the gap with Warlock and not train her to be a Fortress Knight for defence. Instead (if you want to and don't somehow kill everything with her before they get the chance to get to her) train for mercenary and get vantage if you plan on her to be more up-close as she will demolish anything in her path. She'd need to take damage though but in hard mode it's not that hard (ironic). If she does die in one hit then you can give her a defence person and she'll live through an attack. Also don't forget to get Lorenz for his relic to put on Lysithea for massive range and damage (also the chance to take half damage is a nice bonus).
  6. This is a ROM hack inspired by watching Mekkah's Troll FE so I decided to try and see if I could make my own, and have it be different. I have until Chapter 8 done but wanted to at least release it so that I could get some thoughts about it and some ideas for some chapters. I plan on doing the full game with story and whatnot (even though the story is meant to be a joke) but yet again, want some thoughts on this first. Another_troll_emblem.Patch_version_0.1.ups
  7. I really like this idea, it'd make it more interesting and stand out more from the other routes. I think having Flayn defeated in this fight would cause Seteth to get pissed and have Flayn absent for the next fight (adding this on as an idea). I don't think this would happen (considering that Hubert, Edelgard, and Byleth want to keep TWSITD a secret). If it was just revealing it all to Byleth now then it'd make a bit of sense (even if it's told throughout the story already). I think that wouldn't happen as why leave in the middle of a conflict to deal with another. This would allow Rhea and Dimitri to take down the empire easier as you're dealing with something that could've waited. My personal thought would be a side-story instead where you choose a file that completed CF and you can unlock a side story that has a few levels where you play as Byleth, Edelgard, and Hubert taking down TWSITD. Only reason it'd be like that is because (like I stated earlier) Edelgard, Hubert, and Byleth want to keep TWSITD a secret, so it makes sense that it'd just be the three of them, and it'd be a few levels like Cindered Shadows as they wouldn't just be killing Thales and moving on, but doing a thorough job of taking them all out. That's just my ideas for it though (as well as ideas I got from reading other replies).
  8. So I'm planning a recruitless playthrough of three houses (except maybe the dlc characters) and I have some ideas for unique character classes that use either what they will gain from a skill, or using their budding talent (My ideas all focus around the second one). I have some ideas for some characters but not all of them. I plan to do all 3 (Either Crimson Flower or Silver Snow, not both) routes and want ideas for everyone. My ideas are: Byleth (male) - Either War Master or possibly Bishop Edelgard - Warlock, Valkyrie, or War Cleric Ferdinand - Great Knight Bernadetta - Wyvern Lord or Falcon Knight Petra - Falcon Knight Felix - Warlock or (not likely but who knows) Mortal Savant Sylvain - Dark Knight or Warlock Annette - Warrior or War Cleric Claude - Swordmaster Ignatz - Warlock Lysithea - Swordmaster or Mortal Savant Hilda - Fortress Knight Leonie - Sniper These are my ideas for unusual classes for characters (at least for me). Not every character is here as I didn't have an idea for them but if you guys say that one of my ideas isn't great because [insert argument here] or you have an idea for a character not listed, please let me know.
  9. I'm thinking it'd be crazy difficult. A main thing about the game (for maddening at least) is that you will most likely lose at least one unit every battle, or at least seems to be built around that logic. Without Divine Pulses, maddening will be difficult but not impossible. Although an Iron-man run is probably near-impossible, depending on the route (as you're planning on doing CF it'll be shorter, chapter-wise) so It's probably possible but losing any of your "amazing, can't live without" units could make it impossible. I'm no expert on this but this is just my opinion on this. If you do plan on doing the iron-man run then good luck 🙂
  10. If you play the game a certain way (mainly for me, kill everything before they can get to me) then the game has it's challenges but is decently easy (as far as maddening goes). Only thing for me was the end where I had to sacrifice Lysithea to kill the final boss (it was either her or 2+ other units because Nemesis is a POWERHOUSE when you got no good defence units).
  11. I had done a run like this a while ago on maddening and it was easy (or at least easier than blue lion recruitless, and easy as far as maddening goes). I'd recommend it if you want a bit of challenge but from what I got, blue lion recruitless is a lot harder (still haven't beaten the final boss yet after 50+ attempts)
  12. Hello there I'm Gabeatron9002, someone who likes playing fire emblem and recently has tried to make rom hacks of the gba fire emblem games (so far, only part-way through one). I look forward to talking to others here and have a good time
