The Hideyoshi battle was interesting, but only because of the terrain, and the falling boulders that knocked out Oichi's Jigglypuff :|
I still beat the battle with only Eevee, so yeah, it doesn't look like it's a very hard game.
How/when do pokemon evolve, btw?
EDIT: I should clarify that it's still a lot of fun, and looks very colourful and charming. Quite worth the buy.

It's more like FFT than FE in gameplay, so far, but with phases. I'm still kind of at the very beginning so I'm still finding out stuff.
Each pokemon has Abilities, that activate upon special conditions. So the Eevee you get right at the beginning gets a second turn if it defeats an enemy. Stuff like that.
You power up by increasing the "Link" between you and your pokemon, and you can only battle once a month with any given warrior. Basically, your turn ends when all your warriors have fought their monthly quota.
It seems fun so far, but I haven't gotten anywhere challenging as yet.

Ehh... I can't tell if Brady has issues or his mother does. Not the best of supports.

Comes early, and stays viable for the early-game. STAB for a decent move is nice. Intimidate is useful. He also evolves early, which is a nice boost.
On the other hand, he's not exactly late-game material, and suffers from there being no physical/special split in Gen3.
5/10 with bias because dogs are awesome.

Terrible stats, though I guess you can use Beedrill as a crutch. I've never bothered. Not enough good STAB moves, and gets outclassed way too quickly.
3/10 -1 bias point ('cause he's a bug) for 2/10.

I think one of the major strikes against reclassing in this game is the fact that some of the characters have terrible options. Vake to Barbarian makes sense and the stat boosts seem worth it, but who is honestly going to reclass Sariya into an Archer or Tiamo into a Dark Mage?
Also it doesn't help that even the promoted classes start with E in their weapon ranks. With unpromoted classes, I can see it work better with unpromoted classes, but FE11/FE12 at least gave the promoted classes a minimum of D rank in their respective weapon ranks. This is especially a kick in the balls when you realize that if you, say, reclass Vake to Thief, he's stuck as a thief for 10 levels before being able to change his class again.
The Dark Mage line get some fantastic skills. If you aren't totally against grinding, then it's a valid path to take for Tiamo.
Sariya gets skill+2, and a Hit/Avoid+ skill as an Archer, which alleviates some of her weaker stats. It's not something that you'd do in a run that doesn't involve grinding, but it's hardly a "bad" option per se.
Only Donny really suffers, but that's only because none of his reclass paths use lances.

I'm actually contemplating just how powerful all the Oifey archetypes would be if they had access to the FE13 system.
OH GOD SETH AND TITANIA
Seriously though, I think that promoted classes deserve higher weapon ranks on a class change, but otherwise the system looks good. I was never a fan of the class change system in FE11 though. I like the idea of characters being proficient in a limited number of classes, rather than having access to everything. Also, this seems harder to abuse, in the sense that you can't change everyone into a flier for one chapter, and then make everyone a ground unit for the next.

I don't think Steam games are sold at lower prices though. In fact, some developers actually price higher than the physical copy, especially in the eurozone, according to wikipedia. So your point is kind of moot.
-
Actually, now that I think about it - Everything, including the game data, will be on an SD card, so unless you lose the card itself, neither your games nor your data will vanish (unless you delete it or something).
-
Would it keep my save files though? I like my save files. If it keeps my save files I'd consider getting it over the hard copy, actually ,due to my unfortunate tendency to misplace things.
If you're going for a digital purchase, your save files'll be on the sd card, I think. Pretty much the way it works with a PSP. I doubt you'd be able to lose your data in that case.

[spoiler=Question about above discussion]So MU comes back regardless of which choice you make right at the end?
If that's true, then I guess the "good" ending so to speak is the one where Gimle is killed.

Interesting chart right there
I turned Strategist contracted with me!???

There's an AR code available that lets you copy data, I believe. Of course, you need to be able to use the code in the first place...

Y'know, Nintendo games can sometimes have some really good voice acting. Kid Icarus is a recent example, but Rune Factory Frontier (and to a lesser extent, Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny) had some genuinely talented voice actors. Young Johnny Bosch did Raguna incredibly well in particular, which is the main reason I think he could do either MU or Krom fairly well.
And I stand by the idea that Cristina Valenzuela would be a great voice actor for Sariya as well.
RFF was Xseed, and ToD was Natsume. Nintendo wasn't in charge of the dubbing.
That being said, I do think Bosch'd do a good job as one of MU's voices.

Geez, they just don't learn, do they? Digital distribution has such potential for both the customers and the developers, but they'll never reach it if they don't take the plunge and start giving us incentives to purchase digitally.
It's silly to expect lower prices. Game companies wants their physical copies to sell as well, because a lot of money goes into producing cartridges, manuals and packaging. Why do you think companies like Xseed are going digital? Businesses want to make money, first and foremost.

I'm amused that the title uses the SA word filter variant. (sort of)
Anyway, Renha's image looks so much creepier if you pretend his eyes are actually open.

Welp. At least she doesn't think it's too easy any more :V

It seems like Celica is just a sage, considering her cape, so no swords. However, I wonder what happens if she's reclassed?
She'll get the weapons of that class...like every other character?

What's this? DLC art of a female FE lord that isn't getting hate? Must be because she isn't that well known...
Anyway, she looks pretty awesome. I think think that her art as well as Alm's are my favorite so far.
Hate hate hate
Seriously though, it's not awful exactly, though her handkerchief shirt continues with our theme of there being at least one objectionable thing about any female artwork. It's gone from somewhat sexualised, but reasonable artwork to moe moe.
There you go, all my hate.

I'm totally digging this design~
and I see Roman Numerals on her cloak.
Emelina has them too...
Oh, Celica's probably going to a sage as well, isn't she?

Viole's face in there frightens me. I'm not sure why.

His VA should really be filling you with joy c:
Daisuke Ono~~~
I wish it really was "yes my lord" though, but it's a slightly less direct way of saying it and I found it a bother to translate, so I was like, FUCK IT TIME TO SEBASTIAN
It's perfectly in character though. Think of it as classy localization :V

Aww, Fred :3

I think it's more telling that FE13 outsold Kingdom Hearts, especially since the latter is more mainstream. It's not like there was no competition whatsoever.
Anyone start the game on Hard mode first time through?
in Fire Emblem: Awakening

So it's like FE4 in that regard (a wave o'dudes coming at you)?
Does the AI screw itself over, in order to get a potshot at you, like it used to (PoR's Strange Lands map comes to mind)?
