  1. I've done a couple Alear solo runs on hard, and am working on one for maddening, and I definitely think stacking avoid is the most reliable way to do it. The biggest issue with maddening specifically is that enemies won't attack you if they deal 0 damage or have no chance to hit, so if you have to fight a rout map...well I hope you like spending 30+ turns slowly killing every enemy one at a time on player phase. Thankfully most maps are kill boss, but it still can be an issue at times, and makes it even more difficult to gain experience. Though at least if you grind on the few skirmishes there are on that difficulty, you can have Alear wait next to a backup enemy, and all of the other enemies will target them, even with Pair Up. This doesn't work in the rest of the game sadly, but it makes skirmishes much less tedious. Personally, I found Corrin to be the best Emblem for a solo run, with the way I played. Pair up is essential no matter who you choose, and Corrin has it innately, which is 2,000 SP you can spend on other skills. Draconic Hex is good for chipping down tough enemies faster, like bosses that have multiple health bars, especially since they're probably not attacking on enemy phase. The real star though is Dreadful Aura, which grants a guaranteed freeze on any enemy you target, and adjacent ones just for good measure. This is basically essential to take on some bosses that have Emblems themselves, since some have dragon effective weapons and powerful Engage attacks that cannot be dodged or countered, and can one-shot even an Alear with max stats. All the Engage attacks you'd be worried about are only at one range though, so you can attack at two range and just keep the boss from using them at all! If you just want to use Corrin for those specific maps though, the next best is probably Lyn. +5 speed at bond level 20 and Speedtaker translates to an extra 30 avoid once you kill 5 enemies. That's the same as Marth's avoid skill at max. Alacrity also helps getting to that point, by preventing enemies from countering you on player phase, when you're still trying to get Speedtaker up and running and might be facing actual hit chance. The only downside is that you have to inherit Pair Up, but that goes for all other Emblems too. I hope any of this helps on your own run!
  2. Hello! I've been using Serenes Forest for information for some time now, but I've never really checked out the forums. I started with Three Houses about a year or two ago, and I've been going backwards in the series since then. I moved to Awakening, then Fates, then Echoes; I also just finished Path of Radiance and have started on Radiant Dawn. Echoes is my favorite so far, though I'm still eager to try the GBA and SNES games as well! I don't tend to talk much, but I'll certainly be checking out the forum more now that I have an account.
