  1. You just read my mind, dude! Thanks for the name suggestions and the ideia, i really liked it! Yeah, i know that. My goal was that it would be contrary to the polluting energy of FF7, which is why I also compared it to the Orbal Energy of the Trails franchise. Is almost the same. Yes, I already have some good things planned involving this energy and the magical powers that exist in the world. Even my main character's internal conflict reigns solely on what these powers are and how humanity's perception of them has impacted her life. Not to mention the very message of the story that also involves her powers. That's amazing, man! It's great to get advice from someone who is in the same business, so to speak. I really liked your answer, so i will make sure to remember it! Plus, your Black Clover example was great!
  2. Wow! I did not expect to receive good responses so fast. Thanks guys! Your responses certainly gave me things to think about(In a good way, of course), thank you all, really. Who has more things to add or suggest, bring it on!
  3. Okay, here's the story: In my Fantasy story, I created a whole continent where the story will take place and after a lot of headaches trying to think of a name for it, I named it "Arceus" and yes, it is a reference to Pokemon. I am a big fan of video games and my intention with this name was that it was just make a reference to the game, but because this continent is something very important to my story, I started to develop a fear that maybe people would not see my true intention and misunderstand me. Coming to think that I would be "stealing names" or something worse. Then I started to remember a case that happened in 2019, where DC Comics was suing Mattel just because their characters shared the same name: Bumblebee. And i don't that to happen with me. I want to know what you guys think. Should I change the name of my continent? Should I explain right off the bat that the name is a proprosital reference because of my love for Pokemon? Or should I just go ahead and continue the way it is? Please help me! My other question is about an element I've been thinking about putting in my story (But which isn't implemented, so please don't kill me! It's just an idea!). In my story, almost all people on the continent have magical powers, and to use such magical powers, they need to channel their Magical Energy (Manna) out of their body in the form of the power they received at birth. And my new take would be that not only do humans possess magical energy, but the Planet would also be completely full of it, and that humans would have found a way to extract and use it as an ecological energy source, using it to light ovens, turn on the TV, charge cell phones and so on. Not to mention that because it is an ecological energy, the cars that use it would not pollute the planet in any way, because their cars would not release smoke. But now I'm afraid that my idea has become too similar to the concept of the Lifestream of Final Fantasy VII, or the Orbal Energy of the Trails/Kiseki franchise, so I'm in doubt if I should really put or if it is better to continue with the good old electricity for my world and characters.
  4. Yes! that's exactly what i'm looking for! My character is kind of a beginner in the business and this is done on purpose because I want her to be one of those characters that grow with the passing of the journey and learn from it, not to mention that I am not the best at inventing mysteries so something simpler like the suggestions given by you fit very well. Very interesting... I will leave that in mind! And thanks for the video, I feel it will help me a lot in this regard. OH BOY, IT'S READING TIME! Me: *Plays a sad song on the world's smallest violin and then eats a burrito*
  5. Well, here's the situation: I'm creating a story and it starts with my 19-year-old main character going back to her hometown after finishing her Detective degree, and i like to think that she's like Spencer from Icarly. For those who don't know, Spencer is the older brother of the protagonist Carly Shay, and he's a crazy freelance artist with a passion for crazy socks and sculptures. Years before the series began, Spencer went to law school in Seattle but left three days later to become the artist that he is, and even then, he has a lot of jurisdictional knowledge and has kept a notebook and a book of rules, laws, and other things. And in several episodes, these abilities of Spencer proved to be very useful because with them he could save his sister and friends from several mistakes. My character is basically the same. She studied a detective course for three whole months and is very dedicated to this profession, but during the story these skills will not be so used, BUT WHEN THEY NEED TO BE USED I want to show the audience that she really is a full-fledged detective and you should not mess with her! I want to know what can help me make a good Detective character so I want tips for my character and even suggestions of other Detective characters so I can get inspired. I also want suggestions of pieces of media that could help me in this aspect, like some video game, some book or anime... Like: Would reading a Sherlock Holmes book help me? Playing some Ace Attorney? Maybe some Professor Layton? (I'm very excited for these questions, actually...)
  6. Well, I didn't mean that the mechanics resemble Yu-Gi-Oh, but that it's a similar format, like a FFIX's Tetra-Master or FFXIII's Triple Triad. (Sorry if I'm messing things up, I don't know much about card games, but that's exactly why I'm making this post). Nice name suggestion! I'm all ears for more! Oh Wow! I am certainly interested in this ideia! If you have ideas on how to elaborate it further, then i'm here to listen! Yeah, that's why the only real mandatory is suggestions for the name, i'm still working my head out about this one subject, it will depend on the suggestions given to me and my criativy of course.
  7. No, the cards don't have any power, but it is a Yu-Gi-Oh like game.
  8. Heya Dudes and Dudettes. Soooo....... I'm writing a fantasy book (Kiseki style), and in it, I'm thinking of creating a card game (Tetra Master FFIX style), and would like suggestions for both its name and its mechanics. About the name: I would like a name that ends in "nigma", to look like the name "Terranigma"(just because it sounds like a cool name for a card game) or at least something that sounds similar. About the system: My focus is that the protagonist of my book will be the most addicted to this card game (reflecting my experience with FFVIII and FFIX), and that at a certain point, she would have to use the most of her skills in a tense match to get the object that she needs. So I would like some suggestions on how my card game could be or how could work, you can suggest mechanics, rules, anything, all help is welcome. You guys don't have to answer if you don't want to, I have full capacity to think of something by myself for my card system, I'm just asking for help here just to see what you have to say, that is, I'm taking it in sport. Not to mention that maybe this whole card game event won't even happen so planning it would be useless. But if I'm sure of something is that it will exist, even if only for hobbie of the protagonist, so the real mandatory suggestion is the name.
  9. So... I am a BIG, BIG fan of the Trails franchise, specifically Trails In The Sky. And I was remembering our dear Estelle and her unusual hobbies. As a wise boy once said: And let's agree, these unusual hobbies make us create more empathy and affection for the character. (Who hasn't made an in-game collection of the Stregas just because of her?) And then I got to thinking... What other girl characters have unusual or different hobbies? Do you know any? Also, feel free to comment on your OCs.
