  1. Not on the website. THey still have the placeholder one-version preorder listed up on the site. JB usually is a little cheaper but I'm not sure if they'll carry the special edition.

Guess I'll have to ask one my mates if he knows anything about it

EDIT: He doesn't know anything either. So much for that lead :/

  2. I dislike the avatars because of their designs, especially Kamui who looks like he is extremely constipated the entire time.

Give me some god damn facial hair IntSys! Not everyone who plays your games is a baby faced teenager!

Imo, localization seems to be better than Japanese text. From what I've seen of Japanese PoR, for example. Ike and Elincia are about as interesting as cardboard boxes. The localization makes them feel much more like people with emotions, rather than boring robots.

So I do have some faith that the localization team can make improvements.

Good thing localization for this series is really good and tends make rather boring characters more interesting and removes all the stuff that makes you go "WTF where they thinking!?"

  3. Most of the previous games had met the sales threshold needed for the series to continue, so it didn't NEED to change. That said, it likely wouldn't have sold quite as well without the changes.

I'm going to have to disagree and say it really did need to change. Intelligent systems have been treading water for quite a while now with every game that hasn't got Mario in it under performing or just hitting sales thresholds. with increasing development costs and mobile gaming taking over the portable market they needed a killer hit.

  4. Like Hinoka, Camilla suffers from a lack of importance for being Kamui's elder sister. She screams marriage fodder considering not only her design, but her "KamuiKamuiKillItKamuiKamui" shtick. How about fusing her with Marx so that she'd be Garon dependable daughter?

This one is a little harder as Marx and Camilla have very contrasting personalities that won't mesh as easily a Hinoka and Ryoma.

Instead a slight rewrite of marx to be more doubtful of his fathers actions and camillas one CG cutscene to be changed from cheesy porno opening to her trying to bring kamui back and having more of an emotional breakdown when he declines the offer to go to nohr

  5. Hinoka and Ryoma should have been combined to form a brand new character called Ryoma

Ryoma should have been the one training and dedicating his whole life to rescue the brother/sister that was stolen from him while having to balence the responsiblity of being the heir to the throne. as he stands right now he is just rather bland and forgettable.

Hinoka is such a nothing character that her removal takes nothing away from the plot

  6. I have a question for all who defend the "it's optional so you can ignore it":

When passing from one side of a road to another and you don't look at the car that's driving at high speed because it's optional to pay attention make the car stop existing?

Ahh yes, the "If your friends jumped off a bridge would you do it?" argument. Stop using this argument; it's dumb and can be easily refuted

  7. I'm extremely late to this post, and I don't know how I skimmed through it, but IMO, Ninian felt lilke a story telling tool too. She dies only to have Eliwood become depressed and have some drama in the game, then to be lolrevived at the end because of lolquintessence. She is like a walking key to open the Dragon Gate who is also a cute, mysterious, gentle girl, and makes the plot move around. Also a damsel in distress most of the times. What does she actually do by herself?

But if you see more in her death and her character, then feel free to correct me.

The distinction between them as far as i can tell is that Ninian is a Walking plot device, While Azura is a walking plot device who actively makes the story worse

I didn't make this one, but yeah, there are more. I guess at this point she's most known for her fantastic plan making skills in Conquest.

I've already seen this one. it just seems everything she does just makes another plot hole.

The magic orb, assassination plots that fail miserably, the entirety of IK, the curse rubbish (AKA the second coming of the "blood pact"), her colossal leaps in logic (hey aqua! instead of attacking two armies to get their attention maybe just ask them for more time to think it over like a normal person would do!)

  9. Why is it so unacceptable to desire a narrative that takes itself at least somewhat seriously? There's a profound difference between well handled sexual themes that feel appropriate within the context of the setting and blatant fanservice that conflicts with the themes of the game. There's a time, place and an audience for everything and fanservice to this large of an extent would be better off somewhere else.

You can have a serious story and still have lighter elements to it. I don't actually know enough about the story of this game but previous fire emblem games Had somewhat weak stories that took themselves far too seriously.

  10. Not bothered by fan service at all, i find it rather funny actually.

[slightly off topic] I see a lot of people complaining that the fan service takes away from the drama of the story which i find rather silly. Comedy or fan service or a quirky tone change can add or alleviate tension in a story, give it more humanity or create a memorable character.

If every story was told 100% straight it would be rather boring.

  11. AHHHHHHHHHHHH BIG NEWS FROM MY FRIEND.

YES YOU CAN S SUPPORT LEON!!!!!!!!!

(And presumably Camilla, since a lot of you wanted this hahaha.)

    YESSSSSSSSS!

    Of course, we dunno if they'll label it something else in the game but... I'll take this for what it seems. :}

We probably can marry them. Especially if they have specific kids attached to them, otherwise it would make no sense.

  12. I personally only judge a character based on their personality, but I do like to use characters who look cute no matter what.

I notice Camilla gets a lot of hate simply because her boobs and butt are exposed, even though she seems to be a really caring and kind person. Why is this?

    1. You're really obsessed with this topic

    2. we don't actually know enough about this character yet so people are allowed to make judgements based solely on design (I'm OK with it personally, i just wish she wore pants)

    3. Character/ memorability means a lot more to me than aesthetics but if someones design is so offensively bad i won't use them (haven't seen one just yet)

  13. A Lord telling one of their servants to come to his room to touch her... is rather new.

It's a completely unequal relationship. Not just in player x character interaction (obviously the characters can't actually touch the player back. They are entirely passive, simply existing to please the player with their body and their cute reactions to getting touched in her sensitive spots. That's not really bonding.) but also in the interactions between the actual characters. Kamui doing things like this to his own servants would even be messed up in-universe.

Royalty inviting people into their room to "touch them" sounds like the most realistic Royal to commoner relationship we've had in this series yet
