  1. Definitely Echoes. I actually like Awakening and Fates quite a bit, but I hadn't played Gaiden before Echoes came out, so its unique takes on the Fire Emblem formula were really interesting. The simplified inventory system removed a lot of between-chapters busywork, and dungeon exploration is a neat feature. Also, casting magic and skills from HP is just a cool concept in general, and I'm kinda disappointed no other game has used HP as a spendable resource in a similar way.
  2. Yeah, I've been missing it lately. Probably the Early Modern period. The first period of real globalization, the Reformation, and pike and shot warfare are all fascinating. I'm still bummed we never got a Total War game for the Thirty Years' War.
  3. I've been using Serenes Forest for a long time for general Fire Emblem info, but I've never really looked at the forums until recently. Now seems like a good a time as any to start using them. It's been a good while since I was active on a forum, and I kinda miss it. I first got into Fire Emblem back in the early 2010s, playing the GBA games first, then picking up Awakening, and eventually trying all the other games (except BSFE, but if I ever hear about the music & voices being made available for those I will jump on that straight away, the Satellaview is so cool). Genealogy is my favorite, because I'm a sucker for scale in just about anything. Aside from Fire Emblem, I play a bunch of other strategy games, especially 4X and grand strategy, and a variety of other video games. Outside the world of gaming, I'm into science fiction and I like reading about history.
