Hello to everyone. I am a relatively new hacker to Fire Emblem. I've done a lot of things so far - spell animations, palette editing for units, and made my first chapter. First order of business is to thank everyone for their hard work making the tutorials and tools. I have always dreamed of making a custom game, but now it is possible! Special thanks to Blazer for his amazing tutorial. I'm quite proud of the custom sage animation I made .
Now for the my questions. I seem to have scoured every tutorial/info I can find (or perhaps the answer is sealed away so carefully, or I may just be blind after all...), but there are a few things that confuse me, to say the least. I would appreciate any help fellow hackers have to get me out of this state of confusion and bewilderment! All questions are for FE7.
1. Mandatory Units -
How is it possible to modify certain units so that they have to be used in the current chapter, and then be disabled for the next? I have seen it done in a few hacks, like Tactics Universe, which comes to mind. I have tried using the Chapter Unit editor and Character Editor in Nightmare, and nothing seems to work. Perhaps I am just not looking at the right drop box, etc.
2. Droppable items-
This one drives me nuts. I have seen in FE8, there is a section for a 'flag' code to be placed to make the last item carried by an enemy obtainable. However, there seems to be no such option for FE7. I assume it is probably something small that is easily overlooked.
