  1. So you're saying that because you have Ena, Gareth is meaningless? If so, then I'm still not happy.

Where did I say that? I said that since Ena exists, Gareth's only useful ability (blood tide) isn't as significant as it would be if Ena didn't exist. Add that to the fact that Gareth is probably going to be your most-likely-killed-by-spirits unit, that he's available for a whopping 2 skirmishes out of the entire game, and he's easily worth a 0/10. If the tides weren't restricted to only units next to the dragons, Gareth would be much more useful, but all the negatives Gareth brings to the table far outweigh his single positive. I don't know why you're mad at my reasoning, when you're accepting "7/10 Because blood tide is amazing".

  2. We are assuming that Gareth is being used. So try again.

Gareth sucks, you already have Ena for blood tide, and she can survive more than two rounds with spirits. Had he been the only one with blood tide, he might be more useful, but nope. 5 strength doesn't outweigh working your ass off to keep this guy alive.

    0/10.

    Happy?

  3. I think Tina's spot is well earned. Even though thief is limited, being able to steal 90% of the items in the game from anywhere on the map is a godsend only she has, and well worth two or three of Safy's repair uses. Need several warp staves? Np, just go to 21x and steal all of them effortlessly. Want to steal some 20 bld dude's weapon but don't have a thief with high enough bld? No problem, just take it with Tina. The versatility thief staff alone has is amazing, and unlock is also situationally useful too (probably mainly used in 18). She could maybe go down slightly though, as I think Dean and Fergus are somewhat more useful.

  4. I think Nanna's greatest assets are being able to keep up with your mounted units on outdoor maps, mainly 9 (if you go down), 13, 14, 16, 19, and some others, and being able to survive being attacked. Safy, Tina and Sleuf, aside from having horrible movement (which is fine in indoor maps, but not outside), are pretty much dead if they're caught, so it's great having someone, who not only has huge range and canto, can stay alive and even dish out some damage if needed. You only have so many physic staves, especially in Fe5 where they're 5 uses. I'd give her around 8.5, so I don't see her score being too unreasonable considering bias.

My biggest issues are with Halvan and especially Brighton. Halvan is just Othin without wrath or pugi, he's still amazing, better than at least Homer, Shiva, and Eyrios. How Brighton is so low is dumbfounding. One of your better units in Manster, always great combat with wrath (seriously, wrath alone should have pushed him up to at least 8, wrath is broken when combined with tanky units), stays tanky throughout. Sure, his stats are lower than say, hicks, but wrath and scrolls completely negate that downside.

  5. Great unit, but you've probably already got Othin/Halvan/Mareeta with comparable stats. Useful as a warlord killer. Not as good as Sety, in combat, who came a bit earlier, but then again, who is? Definitely use him, even over units you've trained up to that point if you have no space. The problem is he's only here for 1-2 chapters, and unlike Sety, who can rewarp/warp/rescue/psychic/siege/destroyeverything when he's there, Galzus can't.

4/10 (availability really hurts him, and he doesn't have godsend utility like Cyas/Sety did)

  6. Completely destroys the rest of the game, except maybe 24x which I haven't beat. Aside from maybe Galzus' and Sara's warlord (and Leidrich/his warlord, but you've got leaf+blaggi sword for that), he will probably be rewarping and onerounding and dodging everything, making him absolutely amazing. Being able to use all siege tomes is an added bonus, as you finally get to use up those meteors you've been saving, but who needs siege tomes when you can just rewarp somewhere and destroy everything in the general area. As an added bonus, they made his mug not look stupid like it did in Fe4.

    8/10 (availability hurts) + 1 (badass mofo in both games) = 9/10

  7. Ugh, this bastard. First time he appeared he wrecked my shit because I didn't know his leadership stars made the armors fucking hell.

A staves is great, 3 leadership stars is great, combat is not so great. Aside from ch24 with all it's dark mages, if Cyas is caught he's pretty much dead. This strictly restricts his combat to pot shotting, and while his shots are strong, your other magic units will probably be doubling everything Cyas can't. Basically Cyas is a great utility unit with decent chipping. Problem is he comes so late it doesn't really help as much as one would think. I dunno if he helps in 24x much because I promptly skipped that shit after trying it once. Just get Sety, at least he can destroy the maps he takes part in. Sety was much more useful for me, personally, than Cyas.

    6/10 - 1 = 5/10 for bullshit armor brigade

  8. Ugh, I don't see the appeal of Delmud besides Charisma. He has pretty good offense with 5 pcc, but his durability isn't so good (Amalda can get away with it because of great staff utility) and he can't survive many rounds. He won't double much things with Beosword besides armors possiby mage knights, and the maps where his great movement matters, one has several ballistae, the other has Cyas, Reinhardt, and random bishop guy with leader stars, giving him one non-screwed outdoor map. He's usable indoors, but again, he'll need a decent amount of exp to stop being weighed down by Beo Sword and start doubling shit. I used him once, and had to great take caution with him as he was pretty fragile. Amazing in Fe4 though.

    4/10, mainly for charisma, -.5 for being Beowolf's son = 3.5/10

  9. Pretty good filler, not as useful as Glade imo, but can compare with Fred (who I never really liked). Both of them have a great availability lead on Conomore though, but I guess he's got a leadership star. He's pretty solid, speed could be slightly higher though. Definitely not as useful as Amalda.

    4 - 1 (I hate lunar route) = 3

  10. Psh who needs Amalda when you've got the great Miranda and Shanam 0/10

Seriously, very good in the outdoors map and even pretty usable indoors. Leader star and solid weapon ranks are nice. Even if you trained up Nanna, another mounted healer is always great to have. Definitely a must use in the rest of the outdoor maps.

  11. Hey, I've been using this site's resources since it was called Angel Sword and lurked the forums starting a couple years back as a guest. Decided I might as well register as a user today. Nice to meet y'all.

edit: might as well give some background info. Fire Emblem's my favorite game series by far (well, Deus Ex series isn't far behind), and I've played all of them except New Mystery and Awakening (haven't beaten 1-3 yet, though). Thracia 776's my favorite game of the series because it's got some great features in it (capture, fatigue) and I found it's story to be great. I've played some Fire Emblem hacks made by you guys, and I'm hoping to make my own (really simple) hack soon. I like long walks on the beach, and some of my other hobbies include playing with cats and despising scientology.

  12. Poor Stefan, he was so great in Radiance. In this game he comes at nearly the end of game, and while his stats are pretty good for no investment, there's not much reason to use him. He's not very durable, but being able to use Vague off the bat gives him pretty good offense. I really like Stefan but he really doesn't stand out in Radiant, he's there if you need a good to go unit, but that's all there really is for him. His availability (pretty much only 4-E) doesn't help him much either.

    3.5 rating +1 bias = 4.5
