  1. *sighs*

Dude, if you want to die, you friggin' LIE about your claim ("you must lynch me today, because I stop all kills at night, but if I'm shot, I stop the next day's lynch"), hint that you have no results, then flip gracefully. Calling everyone a retard won't do it. Also, learn to rely on more than meta.

I am indifferent to tactical modkills, and am damn glad that wasn't me that was modkilled alongside you.

sorry for not playing how you wanted me to

next time just PM me how i am supposed to play

    thanks

  2. woah serious mad itt

HEY WHY DON'T YOU READ MY NEXT FUCKING POST. The time on this site is set 3 or 4 hours BEFORE my ACTUAL time. And i don't know how to change it.

I DIDN'T KNOW THIS BEFORE. So when prims said 4 hours till the end! Or whatever i was like OH FUCKING CRAP BETTER HAMMER BEFORE WE DON'T LYNCH. And then when i noticed that the date ON MY POST was only like five minutes after PRIMSES. AND THEN I WAS LIKE FUUUUUUUUUUU-

Yea' date=' next time read my next fucking post before you jump to fucking conclusions.

(I simply had to reply/rage at him, i'll say more in a second.)[/quote']

You've seriously overreacted to what I've had to say. I did not jump to a conclusion; I actually did read your post. What I didn't like about it is that you were so hasty to hammer. Even with 5 minutes left, I feel like a villager would very much be double-checking to make sure that there actually is only five minutes left in the day. Five minutes is plenty of time to do some math and check for deadline. Prims puts the deadline in his votecounts, so all you have to do his add that time to your current time, and not the time the forum gives you. I don't know, that seems pretty obvious to me, but I can understand why you might've been confused. What I don't understand is your huge overreaction to my post. I know I've said that I find emotion to be a pro-town tell, but not when people engage in such an early stage like this. There was no serious discussion to lynch based on this event. I simply brought up this incident and why I didn't like it, and you got really angry. Not real sure why.

Also like to add to this:

I pretty sure i read your post Jalmont where you said you would be there half an hour before deadline. BUT I THOUGHT THAT DEADLINE WAS IN LIKE 5 MINUTES SO I WAS IN A RUSH OKAY. Also i play NOC games all the fucking time. What does it matter if it has outside contact or not' date=' doesn't change the game, just removes the possibility of some strategies as maf. (Not so much villager, Outside contact being allowed or not doesn't really affect villagers so much.[/quote']

Well, if you play NOC games all the time, surely you would've had the sense to check up on when the deadline is? With your experience you would've known that it would be rash to hammer without first checking when deadline is. As a villager, I believe it is an instinctive reaction to avoid doing things that can be seen as detrimental to town play, with hammering early being something that would be undesirable. I am also very confused as to why you brought up OC when I did not bring it up in my post. As far as I know, no one has brought it up. It seems to me that you've completely misunderstood what I've been saying. I really am quite confused as to why you thought I was talking about OC, when all I asked was if you had played NOC before. I know this word gets thrown around a lot, but your recent posts have come across as very defensive.

At this point in time, I think it's in our best interests to No Lynch, as we've got too many variables right now to risk a no lynch. The time we also gain from tomorrow's discussion will also give us a better view as to who is scum.

I'm unsure what general conscensus is, but should cop claim if he has received a scum result? (general question, don't claim if you are cop unless you know what you are doing :/ )

  3. well that anology was vague, the point being there that when the positives outweigh the negatives then people will likely do it

a better analogy would be the one i used in the graveyard, the one where you are playing a sport and your team has more players than the other team. Do you reduce the players on the field for your team? I would say no. You could say that's abusing the rules but I would say you are taking advantage of a situation that is not your fault. If the other team can't get its players to show up that isn't your problem. You might not like the attitude but I don't think anyone can fault someone who refused to reduce. hope that analogy made sense i probably explained it better in the graveyard

@Ryjui-Kun so would I, but I strongly disagree that I was playing "dirty." Playing dirty is more like cheating ie talking outside the main thread. Obviously, what is "dirty" is an opinion and i doubt anyone will agree with me there :/

edit: Thanks Balcerzak, I appreciate that.

  4. yeah but what's being a "dick"?

i'm not a dick or unethical but i did something because i wanted to win which automatically makes me a bad guy. i would say something about so callled "rule exploitation" but i'm not interested in a fight so i won't say it

whatever it's pointless trying to argue seeing that something i say will probably set off a chain reaction of people telling me i'm an asshole which i'm really not interested in doing

  5. again i'm sorry and i won't be playing here unless someone asks

modkilling another person really only works if the negatives outweight the positives

like if the only punishment for robbery was community service there would be more robberies because the risk is worth it. that's what happened there, the benefit outweighed the negative

  6. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

edit: In response to Prims, I don't think what I did was "unethical" at all, I simply played the situation to my advantage. If people don't want this to happen, then the rule should be changed to something that harms the village's ability to win ie modkill another person or not reveal the role of the modkilled player. Not trying to come off as not caring here, but I'm just trying to say I don't believe I did anything wrong, but if anyone thinks I ruined the game I'm sorry.

just so i don't sound like an insensitive prick: I'm sorry if anyone finds what I did to be unethical or distasteful, and I'm sure many, if not all of you think that, so yeah I'm sorry. If anyone is really worked up about it, I probably won't be playing here that much anyways unless someone asks me so yea

  7. So read through the thread again.

    My immediate thoughts:

Ryuji and Bluedoom's fighting seemed to be village infighting.

I tried analyzing the voting patter on Lucina. It was hard to really find anything, as the lynch was started by now confirmed villager Snike. If I had to guess I would say that one of the following users that voted Lucina is likely mafia. However's it's difficult for me to pin-point who this might be seeing that

Ryuji-Kun's play has so far been confusing to me. On one hand I feel like he has been pro-village; he wanted to move past RVS, started discussions, and in general was prompting scum-hunting. Yet on the other hand, he's really been all over the place in his posting. I personally find emotion to be a village response (will explain if necessary, doesn't feel aplicable at the present moment), but it just seemed way to early to get emotional when no one was seriously considering to lynch him. He also had this post:

Hmm ... looks like I'm going to have to take another look at Psych, but honestly I'm not feeling that he's too scummy at the moment. This IS the guy who faked a posting restriction just because he could. >_<

While I know this is probably slightly hypocritical (in my defense I will say I have been mainly trolling up until this point), I want to say that he fails to give any reason why Psych is not scummy, while implicitly implying that because he faked a post restriction he is playing normal. I don't really think that really has any application in this situation, and I fail to see the point being made here, except that he isn't mafia because ??? It's too late to question him since he subbed but I'm interested in seeing how his sub will post. Right now, I think he's doing fine, except I dislike his read on me that I'm mafia because I didn't change my vote. I find it hard to read into something like that (for the record, not changing vote from RVS would not be a scum tell with the similar circumstances revolving around my vote) and I find that his posts so far have echoed what everyone has said so far, but perhaps that is to be expected. I find it interesting that he did not address any actions of the player he subbed in for, but that could be something that just doesn't happen in NOC.

Rocker's posts really bugged me, particularly this one.

Lucina's last post' date=' pretty much sealed the deal, though i would prefer a Marth lynch, Lucina has been pretty scummy as well. (Same as Jalmont for the same reasons but at least he eventually contributed.)

According to math 4 hours for when prims posted that should be in a few minutes or so. As such, imma hammer. Normally i would hate to cut off discussion, and quickhammer but i doubt anyone is going to pop in in the next 30 or so minutes to unvote/say anything, so... ##Unvote ##Vote: Lucina[/quote']

This post strikes me odd as I feel as if he is saying that It is also hard for me to believe that he mistook when deadline was, surely he would've checked beforehand? As a villager I feel as if a player would ensure that they would not hammer early with the fear being that they do not want to fuck up, so to speak. It feels like his hammer was rushed and that he did not take the time to properly check when deadline was. I also mentioned that I would be on 30 minutes before deadline, so assuming he did read that, why did you hammer so early? Something doesn't seem to be right in this post. I am unsure if you have played NOC before, if not, then could he perhaps be a first-time scum not knowing how to play? I don't know anyting about you, so I am probably dead wrong, but if I'm right first-time scum usually try avoiding posting as they have an instincitve fear of getting caught. Hopefully, this made sense, I can explain further if necessary.

I will say that the reason I believe I am struggling is that I'm used to playing NOC games where I have a much better sense of playstyles and what to expect from certain players and such; without that it becomes considerably harder for me to scumhunt. Do not take this as an excuse, I am saying that I am much better at this, and I will do my best to prove it to everyone!

Helios I hope this lives up to the expectations :]

  8. alright i've decided that i've been playing really bad up until this point, i'm going to take a break, come back and look at this, and try and provide some better insight

my last few posts have been crap and if i keep trying to post more i will continue to flood the threat with useless shit

    sorry

  9. Useful one liners huh? Hmm let me go look at that...

    How are these helpful?

    Also, this:

makes me think that you put this here so that any point you can be like "Oh, that read wasn't really a good one, I even said that it was probably wrong. Don't blame me for it."

Yeah, I'm sticking with my vote.

I could argue on what is "useful" and whatever but from the one game i subbed into I noticed that people tended not to listen when I got all tl;dr so I'm trying to avoid that in the hopes that people will maybe actually listen to me this time :/

Like I said I find lists to be stupid and unhelpful but it was between that and being inactive so I posted a quick sum-up of my thoughts. I would never not take blame for something I said, but yeah that's pretty much whatever I guess,

  10. I still don't like Psych' date=' but I also want to give him more time to post things since he pointed out that he was asleep for most of the activity last phase whereas Jalmont was not.[/quote']

i am unsure what you mean by this? i don't recall being on during most of the activity last phase but then again i am unsure as to what you mean? like when people were actively talking? if that's what you mean i don't think so, but i guess i could be wrong?

I can see why you think I might've been "waffling" or whatever but tbh it's way too early for anyone, well me at least, to make solid judgements on people. I just got a scum vibe on Snike for whatever reason and I was wrong. nbd

maybe i'm just bad at mafia for not reading into these small things lol

  11. people asked me to post so i gave everyone a list that was just a rough outline of my thoughts at the time, if you didn't like it sorry, i hate lists as well but it's the better of two evils when you consider that and not posting.

The difference with my one-liners is that they actually have meaning instead of being inside jokes, but not everyone's a fan i suppose

  12. i'm really sorry i never changed my vote i had no idea that putting more pressure on a player with less than 24 hours in the day when we need a lynch target was a good idea i am so sorry

    :/

  13. See, you're implying that I was keeping my vote on Snike because I believed he was mafia, which isn't true. I said that I wanted to vote Psych out. Just because I didn't change my vote doesn't mean that I was lying. I dunno, I guess you could read into that and see me as a scum, but I think that's pretty silly so w/e

i'll be gone for a couple hours so just a heads up

  14. How did it look bad? I wasn't the last person to vote her so I'm obviously not jumping on the bandwagon. Second of all, I was being considered as the alternate lynch, so I would say there was far from zero pressure on me. Again, you and Jalmont are just buddying like hell against me for no reason, so my 'overreaction' (notice the quotes) aren't that unexcused.

Second of all what is the basis for this?

Clearly when two people put pressure on a third they must be "buddying" there is no alternative explantion. Using that logic everyone who voted Lucina was buddying with each other. Since Lucina flipped town we can come to the conclusion that everyone who voted Lucina must be mafia!!! Great logic there bro!

basis for what? Thinking your mafia, iunno pretty much everything everyone else has said (bad one-liners, not doing much etc)

  15. i'm not on a 2 am on a school night

    obvious lurking scum

How am I not really doing anything? I've definately been doing more than others. Just because I said you seemed really defensive and overacting and negative towards you doesn't mean I'm not doing anything. This again seems like a bad attempt to make others look scummier than yourself Helios and I don't like it.

This is really screaming Helios's scum partner who's trying to bus me to save his ass. I mean, I'm reading the past 3 pages or so when most of the content was in the middle of the night and yet I'm no where to be found and massively lurking while I was fucking asleep.

It's really nice to go to bed and come back lynched. You guys are making this too easy for the mafia, honestly.

    <3

    tl;dr

Helios and Jalmont scum team trying to bus me while I'm asleep because I'm 'posting no content'

I don't blame scorri as much because she doesn't seem to have tunnel vision on me, but I'd say she probably isn't in the clear since she's considering a Lucina lynch.

I just know someone will bring up that I'm only posting about myself, but considering I'm the only content in the past two pages I think I am excused.

    whaaaaaat

this was a complete overrreaction to what i said, I say I think you are mafia and I would like a lynch on you so you automatically jump to me and Helios are scum together? Yeah, I don't think so. i'm not sure how exactly you came to your conclusions so I'm sorry to say I think you are one we should look at closely for our lynch today.

  16. <p dir="ltr">Psych's posts read to me as someone who is pretending to hide and fit in with the village by posting without giving any real opinion. Obviously Lucina hasn't been doing much at all either, but I really doubt that this early a mafia would take that sort of attitude and knowingly post something that bad without expecting some sort of consequence. I have no idea if Lucina is a person who would do something like that, or if this is something not normal for her style of play.

  17. So ,here are my likely flawed are incorrect reads at this time.

    1. Bluedoom: He's made some good posts upon subbing in, bringing up good posts. Can't find any incidents where he's contradicted himself or anything like that so I would be saying village now.

    2. Helios: He's been a good contributor posting and provoking discussion. pro-town as of now

    3. Jalmont: me ^_^

    4. Piss Sick Lawyer Lucina: Pretty crappy posts so far, (worse than mine imo) and doesn't give off a trolling vibe. I would probably be leaning scum at this early stage of the game. Although I find that her nochalant attitude doesn't seem scumlike.

    5. Psych: He's been doing a really good job of... doing nothing. Seriously, I could find ZERO posts that actually had any meaning. Came off as "Hey, I'm here making posts please don't lynch me!!!" and just didn't get a good vibe from him.

    6. Rocker64: afk but made a good post. If I knew him better I could say whether I found this suspicious, but as of now I don't have any real read on him. I'd probably go village based on the fact that he took the time to post.

    7. Ryuji-kun: I like Ryuji right now. I don't see him as mafia, he wanted to get the game going, past RVS. I personally find his emotion to be more village driven, but I figure most people won't take that real seriously

    8. scorri: Not too much posting but caught Psych "active lurking" and has made some good reads so i'm going with villy.

    9. Snike: Is it just me or is anyone else getting the feeling that Snike is playing like someone who is trying to promote discussion but not really? I mean, he's posting with the intention of being helpful, but to me he neither comes off as helpful or village. I guess that could probably be just me.

I would prefer a Psych lynch at the present time but I dunno if we have time to all switch our votes and I'm too lazy to find out when the deadline is.

Yeah, it's pretty early so don't be surprised if my tells are completely off. I usually posting reads in this style, but I need to post and this is the best I can do for now. It's also a lot easier playing NOC with people you've played with before :///
