  1. Err... She's their sister in case you're wondering why they can't have romance or deep relationships... (Plus she's an extra character.) That would be weird if they did have romance but that was alright during the old days. mellow.gif

But that would be the best way to preserve the Major Anri Holy Blood

  2. Finally gotten back to this after midterms. Play like four hours and manage to somehow beat Paralogue 1 and chapter 5. Paralogue 1 was just corning an archer to get Donny his level and letting the killer lance go. Other than the wyvern rush, Chapter 5 really wasn't that bad at all. Avatar is tanking like a boss with Freddy-pair up, but he's nearly capped level(meanwhile everyone else is around 6-7). Thinking I need to give him a second seal soon. Not sure what to change too though. Thinking either Mercenary for Armsthrift(money's kinda tight right now), Barbarian for Despoil, or Dark Mage for tanking + magic. Any suggestions?

  3. And what is exactly abusable about Rescue again? I'm kind of confused on that. Thanks in advance

Let 's go back to the first time you fight Walhart (chap 18-19 i think) Open map with lots of paladins, great knights, and a few generals. I start by having Lissa pair up with Cherche(Griffon Rider) Cherche moves up 10 spaces and then switches to Lissa, who then uses rescue on Mariabelle. Mariabelle moves up 8 spaces and uses rescue on *insert powerful boss-killer pair-up team* . Boss-killer walks up to Walhart, pulls off a dual-attack/skill activation proc, and BAM. Chapter finished without entering the enemy phase.

  4. Personally, I think Legendary weapons are fine, it's just that Forges/Brave weapons are broken. Forging normal weapons is fine in my opinion. If a maxforge silver weapon has 2-3 more might than a legendary weapon with a stat bump it becomes a flavor choice. Brave weapons though, basically double your ATK(as well as their defense). Brave weapons would still be the weapon of choice for streetpass teams if they had 0 might and couldn't be forged. Instead they have 10ish might and can be forged(or in celica's gale instance, have much lower might but 1-2 range AND flyer damage bonus). You can't really make an equal to brave weaponsunless you A)Make Legendary weapons have FE4 type stats or B)have brave weapons only able to attack twice.

  5. MagicLeafy asked, what do I mean when I say I don't like how FE13 treats Eirika (and the Bride class too). Well, here's my take on it:

    • SpotPass
Unlike other lead characters, Eirika starts off as a level 1 unit. I don't know if this is a good thing (makes her usable much earlier) or a bad one (puts her in line with starting [true] non-main [not true] units). I'd say a bad one. She should have been the last unit in the FE8 queue, being the overall main character of that game.

The main character of FE8 is the last character of the queue. wink.gif Also, Eirika being first and Ephriam being last makes a lot of sense with trying to convert previous Lords into FE13 classes. Their really isn't a lance using equivalent to Ephriam's Lord class, as he didn't have a mount and Knight really doesn't fit, so he had to be one of the later ones on the queue to get a mount and fit into the class system. Eirika on the other hand was basically a swordmaster on a horse, and neither Paladin or Great Knight really fit that bill, and neither does just being a swordmaster. Easiest solution was to put her a myrmidon to give a more 'canonical' class.

    • Champions of Yore 1
She's gullible? Easy to deceive? Is that how history has painted her? That's oddly unfair to her..

I thought this was more attributed to her kindness and innocence, as she was for most of FE8(As previous posters have explained with Orson and Lyon).

    • Smash Brethren 2
Bride class. The class itself isn't bad by intention, but as I mentioned before, I hate that class because it has a high face value (cap total, Rally Love) but with less-than-stellar usefulness.* That aside, it also means that DLC Eirika will start with Sword E (Quick: what class was Eirika in before she changed to bride?), and without any immediate way to change her into an advanced class (since she starts as a level 23 bride). Maybe it's not intended by IS, but all these have made her rather crippled, at least in terms of starting abilities.
      * There's the high magic cap with next to no way to use magic because Shoskstick is both powerless (Mt 11) and melee-only (the only magic in the series to be so). Also, Bonds is crappy and Rally Love is worse than Rally Spectrum, although some argue that it's a powered up Rally Movement.

First of all, Rally Love. You seem to think that because it's a dumbed down version of what is arguably the best skill in the game(And one with very limited availability at that) it's a bad skill? Secondly, Bonds. Free healing over 10% of the HP cap for everyone in a 3 tile radius is not crappy. Thirdly, because IS decided split all weapons between Bride and Demon fighter Magic had to be on one side, and stave and bows had to be on the other. Can't have one class with dedicated range or magic. Axes usually end up going with the male and lances and swords were split to give both classes a higher hit melee weapon. Personally I would have rather both classes just had access to a melee + magic, but their aren't many ways they could have split up who got what weapons without it being onesided in one way or another.

    • General
Alright, so the above seem to have made her somewhat more... traditionally feminine. What's the deal? Well, a big one, to me. Being the main character of the first FE game I have seriously played and completed, I'd say she's... well, she defined what an FE princess looks like to me. Brave, has a strong resolve, and can generally get ahold of herself and fight on despite having a personal, emotional side. FE13 basically took all of those away, in both story and statistical terms. Does this game hate her or what?

Between Spotpass being spotpass and DLC characters being "Einherjar" FE13 took away most story from most all characters. By statistically I'm guessing you mean the Bride class. Bride class was put in because IS didn't want Demon Fighter to be put on females(most likely to stop from putting Res+10 on Peggy/falcon knights) and IS wanted females to have a DLC-exclusive class to counter it. Not to represent Eirika as a character. They probably wanted to give the DLC class to a Lord, so that narrows the options down to Lyn, Eirika, and Micaiah. If anything she got special treatment(IMO) in getting the class. They most likely wanted to put who they thought was the best lord from a marketing standpoint to be the Bride class(as they obviously didn't do it canonically as they did with the Dread Fighter) to sell more DLC.

  6. First of all, galeforce is useless if you're making an AI team brcause people will reset after death(if classic) and their's no way to lose on casual due to first turn and pairup. Similarly lifetaker is useless as well.

Secondly, unless you're using weapons that are nearly broken(or glass weapons) the battle isn't going to last long enough for armsthrift to matter. If a battle lasts more than 3-4ish turns you've probably caused a reset.

Now to other stuff. Lethality really isn't worth it on a unit without rightful king. Less of a chance of proccing in two hits than one hit with rightful king. Better off with getting Pavise/Aegis/Counter/*weapon*faire and hoping for Ignis/Luna/Sol/Astra to proc.

Take Dual Attack+ off of Lucina. AI can't pair-up/dual attack. Pavise/Aegis are pretty good on her because they're boosted by Rightful king. 50+% chance to halve damage is great.

As for weapons, normally the best way to go is brave forge + 1-2 range + special/novelty weapon. Licina as a Great Lord will probably want Brave Sword, Brave Lance, Spear, Noble Rapier, and one of Wyrmslayer, Sol, or some other weapon I'm forgetting. Do not equip weapons like Falchion/Wolts bow that give you health when you use them. They only heal 10/20 and you're much better off trying to hit something than getting oneshotted on the player phase.

  7. no, i'm talking about hitting triple digit magic

should be doable (or come close) with AvatarxRicken!Laurent and Limit Break/Pair Up/Rallies/etc.

    Morgan(M)

    Sage Mag cap: 46

    +Mag MU Mother: + 4(50)

    Ricken!Laurent Father: +6(56)

    Limit Breaker:+10(66)

    Valflame: +5(71)

    Tomefaire:+5(76)

    A-support Sage(With 30+ Mag) Pair Up: +4 + 2 + 3 = +9(85)

    Rally Spectrum + Magic + Love: + 10(95)

    Magic +2: +2(97)

    All Stats +2: +2(99)

    Special Dance Bonus: +2(101)

    Defender: +1(102)

That's all the magic boosts I can think of off hand. There might be something more, but I think that's it.

  8. Wrath vengeance Vantage wouldn't be an effective setup?

It's not that it's not an effective setup, it's just by the time you get that far nearly nothing is gonna be able to do any damage to you, much less actually get you to half health. Until some of the tougher DLC's come out then vengeance set-ups are probably going to be best utilized in makings streetpass teams.

  9. Morgan x Grandparents

    Uncle/Aunt/Cousin specific supports.

    Say'ri x Walhart/Yen'fay/Lon'qu/Virion/Cherche/Tiki/Frederick

    Chrom x Walhart/Gangrel/Emm

    Henry x Gangrel/Aversa

    Tharja x Gangrel/Aversa

    Basilio x Walhart/Lon'qu/Gregor/"Marth"

    Nowi x Tiki/Panne/Yarne

    Chrom x Flavia/Priam

    Lissa x Emm/Gangrel

    Panne x Nah/Tiki/Priam

    Freddy x Emm/Walhart/Aversa

    Walhart x Gangrel/Emm/Yen'fay

    Gangrel x Emm

    Owain x Priam

Are just some I can think of offhand. Most of those are DLC characters or guys who got few supports as is (Say'ri, Tiki, Basilio, Flavia. Couldn't think of who Anna would support logically, but I'm okay wuth that with her being a 'mascot' character) as well as relational things.

  10. I guess the top poster said Grima is powerful because future Grima has already devastated one world before coming to wake up current Grima. But yeah, in terms of character depth or gameplay power, it's not that great at all.

Though if you count only final bosses, I'd obviously like Grima over generic fire dragon in FE7. Should've ended the story right after Nergal.

Or simply have Nergal transfer his quintessence into the fire dragon.

  11. After ME3 released new characters on multiplayer lunatic kinda dropped off for a while. Got back and tried chapter four and then discovered tonics were sitting in the shop. Those things are awesome. Managed to get past chapter 4 and now I"m on to Paralogue one. Leveling donnel looks to be a mountain of a task. Does Chrom's Dual Attack+ skill only affect him when he's paired up with somebody or also affecct somebody when he's paired up with him?

  12. I think it's stupid that they made Iote's Shield a paid DLC and then released it months after the release. -_- Flying units are almost worthless in this game due to the effectiveness. Almost.

Almost worthless? What game are you playing bro?

  13. Without reclassing then Hero would be better than Dark Rider.

How so? Magic is more useful than axes(Especially considering Wind Magic bonuses against fliers), and Dark Knights has better movement. Are Axebreaker and Sol really good enough to beat +2 Move and magic?

Since I'm sick of reading about assassins at this point lets weigh them against sword masters.

Is pass+ 12% activation rate >or = +5 strength always because of sword locked + 25%activation rate. I don't think bows make a big enough impact to be weighed against 1-2 range Amatsu till we get Rangell.

Honestly just looking at it sword masters have a pretty big lead.

Now if we think at stats instead of skills the speed is the same and assassin wins in everything else.

So the question to be asked is: Is a better skill set worth more than slightly better stats.

I think so but that's just me.

Agree with everything here but the bold. With the army of fliers you fight past chapter 20 bows are far more useful than Amatsu lategame. Not to mention Bows can be used immediately after promotion as opposed to having to wait all the way until chapter 18 to get the Amatsu, and even when you get it you only have 30 uses, you can't forge it, and it has less accuracy than every bow in the game(which honestly isn't that big of a deal with SM and Assassin's crazy skill, but notable for comparison)

  14. (Ubel Engel)

No one has advice for me for chapter 2?

Don't mind me, just trolling DLV for his avatar and sig selection, and my name change came back up :D

It seems the consensus strategy is to send Freddy up and to the left as high as he can go after giving him a Bronze Sword and Virion's elixer, and then just having him tank it with elixers. One of the Merc's'll come down to your left, but you can put one unit in his range but not the horde taking on Freddy and then get all of your other units out of enemy range completely. After you deal with the Zerg Rush below the bridge it's not that bad, just know the Merc's and the boss will double anybody not paired up and that the boss can attack from a range.
