  1. Nintendo really should have put a tiny bit more work into them such as giving them custom animations or at least a little bit of dialogue. Or heck, even the "about" section when you click on their name should say something other than "A mysterious traveler from the outer realms" I realize that these are supposed to be phantom characters, but in the DLC they talk, when you recruit them they talk, etc. The fact that they go from talking up a storm to being completely mute once they join your team is a flaw that cannot be justified in the storyline. Also, I think there's a glitch that Spotpass Tiki cannot reclass back into manakete...
  2. Got Ishtar for my SpotPass Also got Mystletainn in the bonus item box
  3. I'd like to see pairing up be reformed perhaps merged with rescue and make it less broken. I'd like to see fog of war return since that really gave you a need for thieves and more opportunities for strategy. I'm not entirely sure why they took out status effects because I think they added a lot of the game, for example, if you gave some of the generic guys poison swords you'd have to build a strategy around that rather than just sending in a unit that gets no (or like 1 point) damage from them and letting him kill them all. But most of all I want to see weapon weights added back in because that gave you a reason not to just pick the most legendary of weapons. Why would I equip any of my units with Armsthrift + 50+ luck with anything but the weapon that they could do the most damage with? I mean, aside from the fun of beating everyone senseless with a log, there's no gameplay reason why you shouldn't just pick the best. Weapon weights made you think more, do you want to do 5 damage with an iron sword or do you want to attack twice for 2 damage with a slim sword?
  4. Depends on the game, for games that you can't really grind/train outside of arenas such as FE7 I'm more apt to use base stat characters until they stop being useful and continue to rotate my team until the end. For example in FE7 I rarely use Nino. On the other hand in games that I can grind (or at least give out bonus EXP) like FE8 and FE13 my preference is on growth rates, in those games I tend to use trainees and other high-growth rate units. Personality though has some basis, there are some units I use even though they aren't statistically the best simply because I like their personality or looks. While others with great growths/base stats I bench because I simply don't like them.
  5. So. Much. Win. Lloyd's map sprite even has the two swords. Although, wouldn't Zelos be more fit as a Hero?
  6. First playthrough on hard I had my avatar marry Chrom because I thought it would be advance the story more than it actually did. On the bright side it did make Lucina more usable and with an S support with Chrom I used him a lot more than I did in other playthroughs even though I'm not a big fan of his (or why I'm forced to use him in most of the DLC chapters... the actual game I can understand but not the DLC). Morgan was alright, although not the greatest just average. Next playthrough on lunatic I had my avatar marry Nah (Gaius x Nowi) because DRAGON MORGAN! She turned out alright, one of the better units I've created. Whenever I finally decide to stop playing through the DLC and actually finish my lunatic playthrough, I'm not sure who I'm going to chose for Lunatic+, and whether to do it for storyline or for creating the best Morgan...
  7. FE 13 is fairly close to my ideal, I love the ability to grind if I want to, it really adds much more replaybility to the game that I really didn't have with the others except FE8. I'd like a couple of improvements though. Bring back the anima triangle of thunder/wind/fire but keep the single skill level for anima and not different levels for Fire/Wind/Thunder. Bring back the weight/con stats and light/dark magic. Add in where anyone can support any other character, perhaps not marry or have a paired ending, but at least let them talk to each other. Make the SpotPass/DLC characters feel less like an afterthought, and let them talk/support other characters, for example a conversation between Chrom and Marth would be very interesting. Also, custom character models and descriptions please. I'm not sure how I feel about the paring up options, I think it ends up making the game be a bit broken, especially when it comes to StreetPass battles, so perhaps replace that with rescue. I'd like the ability to change the music to any track that I feel like, although it should default to a thematic track. I want to be able to to color/customize forges too. FE 13 is a good base, but it certainly can be improved. -puts on rose tinted glasses- I wouldn't mind having the setting be in Elibe again since that is my favorite character set/geography.
  8. Avatar (Magic strength, Resistance flaw, with boots) with forged Aversa's Night with: Limit Break (all stats capped) Armsthrift Counter Astra (or Vantage if I'm going to face some enemies with counter) Luna Paired with Manakete Morgan (Gaius X Nowi, Nah X Avatar) Dragonstone + Limit Break (stats capped) Galeforce Sol Bonds Lethality
  9. Did you count in the Spotpass characters that are only playable in Awakening? For example you can't play as Ursula in FE7 but you can in FE13 as a Spotpass character.
  10. FE 7 is a good introduction, FE 8 is easier and you can grind in the Tower/Skirmishes and has branching promotions so I think both would be ideal for a beginner. Although I might be biased about FE7 since it was the first one that I played.
  11. Manor of Lost Souls hands down, even after grinding a couple characters to max via DLC it still took me about 20 tries to complete it. (on lunatic) And the first couple chapters of lunatic. Especially the one where you've got the forts and some guy with a hammer where you basically have to just pray for the RNG to be kind...
  12. I named a betta fish Eliwood once, he lasted for about a week and then died. I think I should have named him Hector
  13. 1) Ninian 2) Fae (because dragons) 3) Myrrh (because dragons) 4) Ilyana 5) Erk 6) Pent 7) Louise 8) Shinon 9) Nils 10) Greil Although, we should just be happy that they didn't give us Dorothy in the SoS spotpass
  14. The fun part about Awakening (At least on hard) is that once you get past the first couple of chapters you can get DLC and grind until you break the game taking 95% of the skill out of it.
  15. Chrom isn't a bad unit, he just gets outclassed by 2nd gen units. Pros: Having unlimited uses with Falchion is great, forged Noble Rapiers can do some damage. Great Lord is a pretty decent class. Aether is fun. Cons: Very limited class set, which means he can't get some of the better skills, he will be outclassed by nearly every 2nd gen character and you've got to choose him for a good chunk of the DLC In early game he's pretty awesome, but by late game he's basically just supporting his wife 7.5/10 In a game that wasn't Awakening, he'd be a pretty solid Lord, but when compared to most of the other characters and their potentials, he's just average.
