  1. Madoka is pretty solid.

Other things from the same writer, all of which are recommendable: black lagoon, fate/zero, psycho pass, and currently airing, suisei no gargantia.

Being a character in urobuchi's stories is suffering.

Black Lagoon wasn't written by Urobuchi. He wrote a light novel based on the manga, and the anime was also based on the manga.

Also, double posting is against the rules so I'm gonna preemptively give my thoughts on Valvrave 6 based on what I think is gonna happen even though I haven't seen it yet, just in case no one posts between now and then: "Holy fucking hell yes, anime of the year 2013. My boner is now infinitely huge."

  2. What is the..."critique" on the anime? I haven't actually been reading up on other people's opinions (avoiding spoilers).

I read the manga after watching episode one of the anime. I think that, while the anime has made a couple questionable decisions and the animation is a bit shoddy at places, their decisions will work amazingly well in the long run and that it looks like they were saving their animation budget for the things that actually deserve to be well animated.

Which is to say, I think they're doing a good enough job so far and that it'll likely get to be an even better adaptation now that we're actually about to get to the fun parts.

  3. 4. Valvrave the Liberator: This show is more over the top than Gurren Lagann, and is a mix of Code Geass and Gundam but not serious at all. It's been fun.

Finally, someone outside of SA other than Seph1212 who understands! (Though the "more over the top than Gurren Lagann" bit might be a bit hyperbolic~). Man, I've somehow found myself looking forward to Valvrave episodes even more than I look forward to Gargantia and Attack on Titan even though those are both probably better. (Though, Gargantia's lows (fucking pirate lady) are definitely lower than Valvrave's)

Also, the Valvrave One is one of the coolest robots I've seen in a long time. Not even Chamber can compare. <3

  4. So here's how I'm feeling about my likelihood to just randomly stop watching the shows that I've currently picked up:

Satan at McDonald's - When I get bored of it

Majestic Prince - When I get bored of it/When it turns to shit

Valvrave the Liberator - When it turns to shit

Attack on Titan - If it follows the manga but manages to be slow and boring anyways (which is exactly what the manga is not)/If it doesn't follow the manga and what it ends up doing is retarded (I would be interested in it doing something different if it's still as amazing/cool as the manga)

Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet - Not happening

  5. Actually... I think it is as credible as I think.

Like I said, my dad studied this... a lot. (It took him, like, 8 years to get his Ph.D. Well, I understand why, though. He had a family of 6 to feed.) Anyway, he read the Bible in its original form (Hebrew and Greek)... and... yeah.

The Bible is one of the least changed ancient texts. (But with a lot of variants... lots and lots of variants...)

Mostly because the writers of the Bible were Christians. The Book of Revelations explicitly says that should anyone change his Word... by adding or taking away what he said, shall be condemned. That's the reason why it's unchanged... more or less... and the reason (I think) why it has so many variants... so many different interpretations.

    So... yeah. It's pretty credible.

    "Proof" is overrated. :P

Remember the time when scientists thought abiogenesis was real?

I'm sure they didn't think they were wrong, then.

    Then Louis Pasteur came along~

Now, we all now that abiogenesis is wrong... without doubt.

It'll take time. You, as a to-be-biologist, recognize that, too. Time will tell.

By the way, this is actually the best part of science. Science constantly updates itself based on new discoveries and is always as correct as it can be at any given time. The Bible is never updated based on new information and thus is worth as much as a textbook old enough to claim that abiogenesis happens.

  6. It's actually about as long as the first, which is odd. Maybe they'll concentrate more on the battle scenes or something.

They're up to Santana awakening, right? It's already getting well into the arc by this point.

Phantom Blood is a bit less than two-thirds the length of Battle Tendency. So that's fourteen episodes even if it was adapted at the exact same speed as Phantom Blood.

And Helios, part 3 wouldn't even fit into a twenty-six episode season, let alone the latter third of one.
