Kriemhild
Yes. That is also a character that I use the manual on. Alone with an Elite Sword, he can gain 4X the amount of EXP. 8X if you are playing the Elite Mode.Wait a minute..the bonuses of the sword doesn't carry over in the arena. Haven't tried it, but does it really? No, he'll only gain 2X exp (4X on Elite mode). Elite Sword simply gives the wielder the Elite skill. It's even shown in the skillset iirc. So if he already has the Elite skill (through the manual), Elite Sword won't help him grow faster. I doubt it would. In the arena, he'll automatically be using a different sword (usually Iron Sword) and thus, he wouldn't have the Elite skill. He'll still have Elite if you used the manual on him though. Dat Nick
8x EXP would be ridiculous on FE5's engine. [stacks bunch of scrolls on Carrion, sends Carrion out to own stuff, Carrion misses, level up, gains a ton of stats] Edited February 8, 2009 by Sweet Tooth

One Heal staff = 100 EXP (would've been 120 if there was no limit).
Rei Rei
8x EXP is ridiculous in any FE engine, IMO. Also Carrion will have a hard time missing the enemy. I still don't know why he isn't Top Tier. Is it the lack of skills, the little babying or what?
Dat Nick
to be fair his babying problem isn't really that bad, he starts off well enough considering enemies on Purple Dragon Mountain are pretty goddamn lol and just attacking them gives him a ton of EXP, and he has nice bases anyway. not to mention Alva and Kein's AS sucks with the sword and the blow to their already poor bases really hurts them, so nobody's going to mind if Carrion uses it for a bit. He kinda has a durability problem for most of the game too, and unlike Shiva, he can't Sol all the damage he takes off before he dies without using up a Sol manual. Rei Rei
brighton has wrath, dean has the dragon lance for capturing and flight I know, but Dean's arriving time is not good, and he's a little harder to train, and Carrion has way better growths than Brighton Edited February 8, 2009 by Oushin
General Spoon
Brighton is epic win. He shoulders a great burdon in the prison chapters, and continues to kick ass and take names afterwords.
Dat Nick
I know, but Dean's arriving time is not good w1n stats, flight, and his own personal weapon for capturing more than make up for it. Slap a speed scroll on him [Not like he's going to have much competition for it, hell, he doesn't even need the scroll that much] and watch him go. You know what the best part is? The dragon lance is obtainable in the very chapter he starts in, so not only does he have a nice start, he can easily be configured into a badass unit in little time. And he can fly. He's very win all around, really.

Don Draper
Starting with an A in Swords=/=Invalid in Indoor chapters. I don't believe you've ever used Dean, come back when you have.
Kriemhild
Dean isn't that bad indoors. He's just relatively worse than when he's with his wyvern. He's still a good unit indoors.
PuffPuff
I know, but Dean's arriving time is not good, and he's a little harder to train, and Carrion has way better growths than Brighton Sure. But you could use him for easy capturings in the 14 gaiden chapter. Plus Dragon Lance is phail for not being able to use it throughout the game. w1n stats, flight, and his own personal weapon for capturing more than make up for it. Slap a speed scroll on him [Not like he's going to have much competition for it, hell, he doesn't even need the scroll that much] and watch him go.You know what the best part is? No, this isn't worthy of just the word "facepalm". ONLY Curly Howard can possibly express my feelings right about now. Mekkah
Dean sure is pwn, but you're conveniently "forgetting" he is OHKOed by ballistae and 2HKOed by any kind of magic. A swords is nice, but he's pretty much no more than a generic Fighter such as Carrion and Fin indoors that one-rounds about anything, but doesn't have staff utility or enough magic to resist status staves. Dat Nick
k fine just as long as we're in agreement that Dean is a pretty cool guy. Eh is four times better than his sister and doesn't afraid of anything.

Comparing his mounted self, with more capturing skills, with great personal weapon to an unmounted unit, with less movement and no personal weapon and less capturing skills is not fair. Bolded:Thank you for mispelling Chapter 18 and Final Chapter.
