You also skipped my other two questions. oh sorry, hmm I don't know and I am not even going to bother with it, the third one is due to the fact that objects move in a striaght line unless acted upon by another force, so when gravity acts on it technicaly it is not only moving toward the Earth but also away (it is kind of a botched up explanation).
