If the grammar is good, it shouldn't hurt your enjoyment. I remember there was an official release of it some years ago, but I didn't feel like burning 250 bucks I didn't have. Give that sad excuse of a move you call "Whirlpool" to Gyarados and teach him Aerial Ace or Wing Attack, then. Wouldn't Gyarados prefer physical attacks? Attack: 125Sp.Atk: 60 ... sounds like a valid point. Waterfall would probably fit him better, indeed.
