I'd love to estimate the number of preorders with Star Craft 2, but alas I didn't get it. Median introduces completely new skills and areas and is apparently much, much harder than the original D2 LoD. Otherwise Eastern Sun tries to give the game a slight Japanese twist, while keeping most of the classical elements intact. Then there's other mods for Hellfire, like The Dark and The Hell, but since I don't have Hellfire I didn't try either. I hear both are also quite hard.
