I think I played (in order) Simon's Quest III I Symphony of the Night Circle of the Moon Harmony of Dissonance Aria of Sorrow Dawn of Sorrow Portrait of Ruin Order of Ecclasia I replayed the NES games on emulator after SotN because I got a healthy dose of nostalgia. I find DoS's approach to the usual bonus character scenario brilliant. Meanwhile, those magic runes might just be the worst idea ever. Though the magic runes and other gimmicks didn't really bother me (they seem to be most people's complaints about it), what bothered me most, other than the heavily animeised characters/script/artwork, was the level design of the game. Then you have other stuff like a lot of sprite reuse and uninteresting backgrounds/tiles, and the game being kind of an unnecessary continuation of Aria of Sorrow. Though I guess that last one is nitpicking. The soundtrack also wasn't as stellar as most titles, but it had some really neat songs. I remember receiving a mail or PM or something like that inviting me to join some generic translation group, back when I was translating HnT. I can't remember if I bothered replying. The chicken with rice soup is good overall, but I don't especially like the bits of chicken in it. That give vegetable a slight edge.
