It's a system where you choose two cards, an ability card (named after Roman gods for some reason) and an elemental card, and then activate them for a variety of effects, like the flame whip. IIRC, there's some glitch that allows you to use combinations you don't have yet. Oh and the cards drop from monsters... some are rare and really not worth the troublesome drop rates.
