The only boss I ever got on my first try was the wolf in Valestein though, which is surprising considering he's around the Ice Dragon, Death Faleon and that robot in the basement, which were all difficult. 1 and occasionally 6-10 damage to the tail using the Long Sword. Fun shit. This was after getting the Broadsword right? I think the first time I beat him, I only got by by the flame barrage he does. Chester 2 is beast. I always keep a backup save before that fight because it's just awesome. Also, this thread is too active when Fia's around. I forgot to look around that lava pool for it and ended up beating Guilen the serpent without it. I don't think you beat the flying one without the Broadsword though. Old standards are dead.
