I thought it was amazing! Geeky video game references aside, it's got likable characters (Ralph is probably one of my favorite Disney protagonists ever), a solid plot, and is actually kind of dark if you sit there and think about the implications of the actions carried throughout it. Not to mention the villain is in my top 5. In retrospect, you could see it coming, but said villain is legitimately terrifying. 10/10 on the karmic death sequence too. GREAT. Not to mention... Calhoun's backstory. I was floored when I saw those. Like, holy hotcakes. <--- Ahaha, references~ But the presentation of said backstory was almost light-hearted and then the content was... ;~; I haven't really been into Disney or Pixar's (they are technically different still, right?) newer stuff. The trailers just haven't grabbed my attention. The trailers for Tangled and Frozen told me to never judge a movie by its trailer.
