They're going the generic/overdone as hell and also pandering route like everyone else. There's a new game of theirs (a collaboration with Vanillaware) about high schoolers in mechs and it's like really now Oh that. To be honest I'm glad that it became it's own thing. Chalis and I have posted about this before but basically they advertised it as SMTxFE at first then it went an entirely different route. That's ignoring all the other issues I have, but yeah.
