I definitely should pay him a visit soon. He's the only one still alive. The others: Maternal grandfather: Died in Syria in 1974 from a rocket while in the UN Peace Corps. Supposedly the shot was an entire mistake. Paternal grandmother: Cancer in 1988. Smoked and drank a lot. Maternal grandmother: Last year from a heart attack. As far I know, my maternal grandmother (only one alive) is doing rather well, even though she apparently has a brain tumor. I haven't seen her in ages, though... her town is hot as hell and basically boringland. Paternal grandfather: Never met him, died when I was still a child. Maternal grandfather: Died in 2002, iirc, on my brother's birthday (ouch). His health and senses had degenerated greatly by then. Paternal grandmother: Died a couple years ago.
