Guess I missed that. Do note that ethereal weapons and armor offer higher damage/defense over their non ethereal counterparts ( +50% IIRC ). On top of that, they require less strength and dexterity to wield ( only 10, but still ). A good number of items are also able of repairing themselves, which means the major penalty of ethereal equipment is totally nullified. It goes as well for throwing weapons since I believe all of them can resplendish in quantity. This said, my level 97 Druid doesn't have anything ethereal on him and he did fine. An etheral weapon for a caster is alright since I don't hit anything with it. We'll see for my Barbarian, but with Iron Skin, Shout and Concentrate I don't think he'll need that much defense.
