Not to mention it's quite reliable. I actually used it over my starter in one playthrough. As you can probably tell, I have a bit of bias towards psychic type pokemon. Maybe he means that the reason you have a bit of bias towards psychic Pokemon is because they were overpowered in the first generation (why they added steel and dark), but if that's the case it's just more likely that you simply like the type because it's "cool". As it so happens, I never really used psychic pokemon in R/B/Y. Well, except for Mewtwo, but that's about it. I like psychic pokemon for their rather impressive special attack.
