Look at Tear Ring Saga. It would give magic a different feel at least. Hey, guys! Let's have 4 fighters who won't take huge damage from recoil, give the Auras 30 defense, and give 4 of them cover tiles, require Nasir to be fielded for most units to double, make Spirits 2RKO almost everyone, and give them only one staff that heals everyone (which I needed to use all 5 charges in 4-E-3 and 4-E-4). And waste a turn healing, prolonging the battle and making those AoE attacks and spirits pile up? Seems you don't have Sephiran, so that sucks. Bringing Janaff was just stupid with Tibarn or Caineghis around. Otherwise I guess Shinon can have fun from 3 range, have Rhys and Micaiah trade Purge around to snipe at a distance with Sanaki if you don't need healing, Laguz Gem up Reyson and have him remove 4 people per turn, preferably your best units. Keep your supports together unless they get killed by something in enemy phase. Anyway I hope for you that you still have a base save.
