I don't know about anyone else, but I always thought magic was kind of lame in Fire Emblem. Except in Gaiden. Magic was kind of fun in that game.

It fucking is. Magic shouldn't be treated like any other weapon.

Watch at 2:00. This is what magic should be like.

That Magic is fucking broken. >_>

You can only use it on turn 1, then multiples of 5.

Still, spells should be treated differently. I'd say negate the actual Magic stat ( or make it like a Wlv restricted to magic only ) and have most spells deal AoE, but that's just me. Promotion grants a boost in damage/range or whatever.

Shining Force

Sounds like it's going to be on my to do list.

I should play Shining Force 3 someday... damn Saturn.

Lyre

You know that Fiona is worse than her. I'll prove it one day.

I'm not going to hold my breath.

Lyre is available for most of Part 3.

Fiona has 2 Part 1 chapters before Part 3.

This is enough to put Lyre above her.

If you say so.

You should know that I stopped caring about Fire Emblem debates quite some time ago.

In other news, John Mayer does a good yaranaika impression.

Yep, and no release on the VC either, unlike some of its cousins.

Apparently, SF3 is a 3-part game.

Only part 1 was ever translated.

No Earth affinity can save her.

No Earth affinity can save you.

Nobody cares about what you care about.

This, a thousand times.

I saw. That's a pretty big middle finger for players outside Japan.

I do.

Who cares if a pile of shit is bigger than the other? They're both shit.

And that's why I've been studying Japanese for four years.

... yeah, "gaming" is my official reason.

Are Lyre and Fiona really that bad? I've never played Radiant Dawn, so I wouldn't know.

You don't level generic laguz or underleveled units in RD. It's simply not worth the trouble.

DH loved Fiona.

It's just a reason like another.

I could say I want to learn Norwegian/Swedish/Finnish because of metal music in those countries.

They more or less scratch/tink enemies on jointime.

Lyre CAN be useful, and so can Fiona. People just don't want to bother spending BXP on Lyre/taking the extra turns moving Fiona because she's in a game that hates mounted units.

And because she's shit. Her bases suck. She's a crappy unit in a freaking game where the other teams pack broken monstrosities.

Probably

I once thought so, but Red Fox of Fire proved me wrong.

I SHALL AVENGE LYRE

Fiona has 70% hit rates with a forged Iron Lance on Easy Mode enemies in her join chapter. She does not double. She does single digit damage. She disappears for 1-8.

Taking the extra turns to move her is the last thing we care about.
