Ar-Wing Pilot
Faster level ups? (Not sure about that) Wouldn't it be faster for Gengar, having been traded? Ahh, yes thank-you. I had no real problem with Charizard/Blastoise. Wasn't fond of bulbasaur's final though. I like Blastoise though...so, i normally picked squirtle. Honestly, I liked all three of the original starters. Best set of any of the generations.
Dr. Tarrasque
@Sirius, at which level do you plan to evolve your Haunter? And are you far from it? Because my Graveler is ready to evolve, so I thought it's be good to kill two birds with one stone. Any time when I'm not busy. I'll let you know. Marthur
Wouldn't it be faster for Gengar, having been traded? No. If we trade them back, the game still takes into account the trainer ID, so no exp bonus as far as I recall.
Ar-Wing Pilot
Just happened: Random Psychic Trainer: "I'll show you how frustrating it is when your Pokemon are asleep!"*sends out Drowsee with, I suspect, Hypnosis/Dream Eater* Me: *sends out Spinarak with Insomnia*

Ar-Wing Pilot
No. If we trade them back, the game still takes into account the trainer ID, so no exp bonus as far as I recall. Actually, unless that's new for specifically HG/SS, it will still act as a traded Pokemon. I know from experience.

Marthur
Just happened: In the same vein and because submission was mentioned yesterday. Enemy Trainer sent Poliwrath. Lanturn used discharge and Poliwrath ended up in the red zone. Poliwrath then used submission -> recoil -> dead.

I don't recall that being the case in Red/Blue. This. I prefered Squirtle.

Ar-Wing Pilot
I don't recall that being the case in Red/Blue. I've replayed Red/Blue multiple times. I'm fairly sure it is the case there as well.

Ar-Wing Pilot
Die monster. I don't see what's the huge problem with preferring Blastoise to Wartortle. Or, atleast, not minding to the point that you still evolve it. I will agree with Dragonair, though. And I would still say Haunter > Gengar. Haunter is a floating head and hands... Hey, again, I don't mind it. Preference to Charizard, for me. (Though, nine times out of ten, I prefer the Fire starters) What can I say? I like Dragonair. Versus Gengar? I need to get a Haunter and nickname it Andross.

Ϲharlie
I never cared for Dratini or Dragonair. They always reminded me of worms. *shot*
