All I know is that Gengar itself is key to stopping pokemon from escaping. >_> Mean Look, it prevents enemy from escaping. It also learns Hypnosis, which helps catch the Pokemon. No False Swipe though. If you have a Dugtrio though, Arena Trap prevents it from escaping. You can also use Wobuffet but it lacks a direct attack so it'll have to rely on Counter/Mirror Coat for damage. Also, you should get a False Swiper to maximize the catch rate. Otherwise, you can catch a Scyther who should have False Swipe since it learns it at Lv 13. Remember, you only need to False Swipe the Entei once.
