So what? Apostrophes are used to show omission of letters (in this case the e). I'm sure you might have seen "li'l" before.

Also, I'm fairly certain that one comma you added wasn't necessary, though admittedly my knowledge on comma use is a bit shaky.

If it's before a name, then it's necessary. If it was something else, show me the sentence again.
