Chalis
Does anyone have any opinions on Gimp? I've never actually used it before, but I know what it looks like... it looks like a complicated mess. :<
Altera the Hun
I'm reading a manga about a T-Rex reincarnated as a japanese school girl. It's better than it sounds.

I've never actually used it before, but I know what it looks like... it looks like a complicated mess. :< I use GIMP all the time and like it a lot, but I'm a shitty graphic artist. It lacks a bunch of convenient tools (or I'm too dumb to find them) like Ellipse Draw or Line Draw, but for the most part it's as good as Photoshop for the things I need to do with it. Maybe you have to fiddle around with things to find the tool? I'm doomed if that's the case. Oh well, time to get used to it. Loading time takes foreeever. Balcerzak
Thank you. Maybe you have to fiddle around with things to find the tool? I'm doomed if that's the case. Oh well, time to get used to it. Loading time takes foreeever. I searched the help manual. It was not as bad as it seemed. Straight lines: Click a place, then press shift and move to where you want it to end. Ellipses and Rectangles: Use the Ellipse or Rectangle selection tool, then go to Edit->Stroke Selection. Loading time is a mixed bag. The first time you load it after a restart, it's molasses. But after that you can quit and reload pretty quickly generally I find. Unless I'm confusing its Windows behaviour with its Linux behaviour. Edited July 10, 2010 by Balcerzak

This is a pretty good chance to use Popo's pen tutorial. 8D unless that pen acts completely different than this one, ugh
Marthur
Already posted here. I remember using GIMP when I still hadn't pirated Photoshop. I don't think I ever used it other than for resizing and some filters. It's a pretty good alternative to Photoshop yeah. Also, Chalis, have you started playing ToI? Yeah, but my laptop overheats really fast for some reason when I play. I try not to play for more than two hours at a time. I should get a flashcart already. Ricardo is hawt. Actually, I have no idea what the paths tool does. I don't think I've ever used that one... Oh... then where's the ellipses tool? Reading. Chalis
orz. I really was looking for the path tool. It looks nice. Now if I had a better brush... sdafsafd I can't control it. The way it moves is almost random.

The way it moves is almost random. Fair enough. Like I said, I'm a terrible graphic artist, so don't really know what is or isn't useful. I just like having layers. If I could only figure out how to make it so that when cut-and-pasting or copy-and-pasting it does it pixel perfect, instead of sort of blurring on the edges, I would be 100% happy. I think there's some sort of tick mark about Hard Edge, or Aliasing or something, but I don't even know.
