I'm not sure what is going on with exp. gain...

Here's the situation. I'm on Pale Flower of Darkness in Eliwood normal mode. I've tested out killing the mage with Bolting with both Rath(lv. 9 flat) and Florina(lv. 15|2). The thing is that Florina gets 43 exp while Rath only gets 40. Seriously, what's going on here?

some people have different experience gains because of their classes, its just how it is

The experience again formula is a bit odd. It actually rewards higher level characters more than you might expect. It only works for ENM, HNM and HHM though (as well as the Link Arena).

If you give me the Mage's Level, I can probably run the formula out for you.

Experience from doing damage

= [31 + (12 + 0) - (15 + 0)] / 3 = 9

Experience from defeating (base)

= [(12 x 3) + 0] - { 15 x 3) + 0] / 1 } = - 9

->

= [(12 x 3) + 0] - { 15 x 3) + 0] / 2 } = 14 (this is where the odd behaviour occurs)

Experience from defeating enemy

= 9 + [14 + 20 + 0 + 0]) x 1 = 43

Rath

Experience from doing damage

= [31 + (12 + 0) - (9 + 0)] / 3 = 11

Experience from defeating (base)

= [(12 x 3) + 0] - { 9 x 3) + 0] / 1 } = 9

Experience from defeating enemy

= 11 + [9 + 20 + 0 + 0]) x 1 = 40
