FionordeQuester
Does a Merlinus death count as a penalty?
Meteor
No.
FionordeQuester
Awesome, that's a relief!
Tatsumaki
Nope, Merlinus doesn't really die. Merlinus simply packs up and leaves if the transporter is defeated by the enemy, meaning you won't get to send items to it if a unit picks up one too many. He will return the next chapter that you can deploy him in. Edited August 9, 2009 by Tatsumaki
DragonBladeSniper
That'd be interesting. (In character endings) Merlinus: died on chapters 15, 18, 20, 26 and 27. (In rankings) Survival: 1 star. He was slightly better in the FE6 (not even needing to be there to help out), still good and VERY helpful in this game though.
FionordeQuester
Lol at the thought of Merlinus' character ending saying that he apparently died six different times XD

He sucks royally in FE 7 too. Logically, he's a better dodger in FE 7. I mean logically to the game, not in real life. Tents don't actually dodge axes, lances, swords, or magic. :(
Rolanmen1
Yeah but there is another point that you should take in mind. In FE6, he takes one space in your preparation screen, he needs 100 attacks to level-up, so you would need to be carefuly when moving him. Though he can move from the beginning. In FE7 he can just level up just by putting him every map. He have 120% on HP, 90% on Skl and Spd and 100% Lck , so he will never be killed after some maps. DragonBladeSniper
Well the point is, in FE6, he doesn't even NEED to be deployed, so he is just as useful as FE7 Merlinus, if not more since he doesn't need somebody to stand there protecting him. But yes stat-wise FE7 Merlinus is much better and even though he will keep dodging attacks, it doesn't mean he is immortal since RNG is just that way. XD Another thing is that FE7 Merlinus could give you access to your items in the middle of a battle.
